This step-by-step tutorial will really help you achieve your Shelee Bloom, acrylic pouring goals. Follow my steps and try not to deviate! This is my absolute favorite recipe to date and has already proven extremely successful in my in person classes in Seattle, WA and Wake Forest, NC. If you enjoyed this video my Shelee Bloom hack video will knock your socks off: • Shelee Art BLOOM HACK!...
Pillow: PPG MultiPro in Satin and Pastel White (Home Depot)
Pouring Medium 1 : PPG Timeless has been replaced with the PPG (Base 3) Breakthrough
1.5 Ounces of Pouring Medium +
Half Jo Sonja gloss varnish and american floetrol (.5 ounce total) +
.5 - 1 ounce of TUBE paint (depending on the brand)
(For clarity 2 ounces of pouring medium in total)
Pouring Medium 2: Valspar Ultra Interior Exterior Gloss (Base C)
1.5 Ounces of Valspar (straight from the can)
.5 Ounce of American Floetrol
(For clarity 2 ounces of pouring medium in total)
+ .5 - 1 Ounce of TUBE paint
There is wiggle room in your recipe. You can increase the american floetrol and Jo sonja (mix for pouring medium 1) or just the American Fleotrol (mix for pouring medium 2) to one full ounce and you will not run into any trouble as long as you are using qulaity brand tube paints.
Cell Activator: 3 Parts Flo :1 Part Paint (Australian Floetrol to Paint)
Time Stamps:
0:00 Intro
0:25 1st Pouring Medium
1:50 How I mix my Paints
4:25 Alternative Pouring Medium
7:38 Colors used in Paintings
9:15 Cell Activator Recipe
11:30 Layering my Paints
14:19 Blowing out my Paints
20:00 Second & Third Bloom

This is a great tutorial to view before attending PourCon Live in Las Vegas, August 6-9. I will be teaching classes there and would love to meet you!

    • @@GarrickBrownArtStudio Hi Garrick!! I can't share my paintings with you because I don't have a channel and I'm not on any social networks by choice. 😉 My sales are made in an end-of-life center. They display my works, fluid art and bloom. The center is private and collects donations to continue to exist. They are so full of Love in this place ❤️❤️❤️ so I give them half the price of the painting sold in exchange for me being able to exhibit. 🙏 I sold around 40 paintings in 2 years. Big and small. I'm happy that people like this type of art which is almost unknown in Quebec.

  • I have only just found your channel and am blown away with how easy you make it seem. I wached your process and will attempt to blow out a little differently, by blowing the middle out well first. I tend not to do that. Unfortunately, I live on one of those little islands where Floetrol is unobtainable. They will not send it and nobody here supplies it...yet. So, glue/water is my only option but I can get good results. Thank you for this video, I will apply it to my art and let you know! P.S. You are an inspiration!!

    @jenjen5184@jenjen51844 ай бұрын
  • Great video. I always use Artist Loft mixed with Liquitex pm instead of US Floetrol (mainly bcuz at the time I was trying out the AL for the pillow I was out of US Floe so I used Liquitex) & I've just stuck with that ever since. How you blow the CA definitely has everything to do with the outcome, whether using AL or house paint, always best to blow the CA "across" the colors to avoid the CA & colors trying to hang onto their comfy pillow & dragging it with them. Lol 😂😂 (that's how I think of it in my mind) lol like trying to get a little kid out of bed in the morning !! 😂 I personally ONLY use that World's Smallest Blower & found some AMAZING Nozzle attachments that were designed & created by another Artist (Tracie Reed) specifically for that blower & creating Blooms & it creates the perfect "Petal" design & it super easy to maneuver to perfectly blow the CA over the colors. Great results every single time. !! Thanks for sharing your experiments & results !! 😊😊

      @GarrickBrownArtStudio@GarrickBrownArtStudio4 ай бұрын
    • @GarrickBrownArtStudio Have you tried that Worlds Smallest Blower thing itself, what actually makes it as great to use for Blooms as it is, are the attachment nozzles created by Tracie Reed, they make the airflow so much better & help to create perfect petal shapes. Works great for smaller blow out techniques also. The only things I would say it excellent for using is for Blooms & blowing computer keyborads to get any crap from between the keys. It's too small to be effective enough for any other uses that I know of. Much much smaller/compact than even the smallest travel hair dryer. 😊😊

  • Hey, Garrick! Love watching your videos, and I take lots of notes. One thing I would love to hear each time, though, are both the brand and the name of each and every paint color. Are the blues in the last two: Golden's Teal, Cerulean Blue, and Turquoise Blue? I don't have enough experience yet to know all of the many blues, and each maker seems to give its own name to things. If you have time for a reply, I'd love to know the maker and the name of those 3 blues (I think you only added Payne's Grey to the first bloom, and I've now watched so many of your videos, I'm not sure if you didn't also say that the blues were all from Golden....I'll have to review my notes!). Thanks ever so much!!! Susan H.

  • Hi Garrick. Can you tell me what josanyo is? I’m a newbie struggling to get cells going with my paints and I am unfamiliar with this product. I looked online and there’s a lot of items by josanyo but it would be great if you could tell me what you used in this video. Thank you

    • Hey! Generally people are referring to the green label gloss varnish. What recipe are you using? Its notnalways neccessary.

  • Dear Garrick, what is the ppg and valspar in Europe? Because I do not know. thank you very much.

    • Unfortunately I don't have a ton of experience with European products but to guide you you want an untinted base C or D or 3 or 4. It should dry clearish. Start with a couple sample jars and test.

  • Wait a minute how is it not going to be the exact same comparison if the paint brands are not the same?? I’m asking because I’m new to this and it didn’t make sense but then again maybe it doesn’t matter. Please let me understand so I can learn.😊❤ Thank you.

  • I'm confused. 😢 I heard you say 1 1/2 oz of pm but you're scooping from the base can of primer. Then 1/2 of josanja, floetrol and paint and that should add up to 2 ounces of pm. Please help

    • The recipe is in the description love. 2 ounces of paint in total then add your tube paint.

  • I only have owatrol floetrol and my results are terrible!

    @PicchiottiArt@PicchiottiArt2 ай бұрын
    • Owatrol takes a little bit of work to get to work. It is thick so thinning down will help.

  • beautiful.... but I wish someone actually made a video with products that you can actually buy in central Europe! None of the ones mentioned in the videos I like are available around here and I'm not paying double the price of the products extra for shipping + taxes

    • Unfortunately, since I am across the pond I have the same issues you have getting products available to you to me. Are there any artist in Europe on KZhead that could point you in the right direction?

  • I'm just to tired and poor to go out and buy even MORE house paint ! Stuff ain't cheap. So far, none the recipes have worked. I think I'll go back to the original acrylic paint pouring. This is getting to be WAY TO MUCH. Thanks Garrick , you a true gentleman.

    • Audrey hey there! Don't get frustrated. What paints do you have? You probably have something that will work! I have tried several brands. Let me know hun. Most brands will work around the same recipe. Use tube paints to start.
