@grookeymon He's known Impulse for 25 years (according to either him or Impulse) and met Impulse when he was a senior and Impulse a sophomore. He's also 2 years older than Impulse. My dad says that a sophomore is around 15. If we apply that to Impulse and say that he was 15 when he met Skizz, then Skizz would have been 17. 17+25 is 42. So Skizz is in his early to mid 40s.

Is it just me or is anyone else equally impressed how Jimmys buildings evolved through this little Christmas project, simply by copying and learning from the other builders
I'm absolutely losing my mind over the fact that the Christmas pickle is not explicitly explained as the fact that it's an ornament shaped as a pickle.
same here. It cracks me up that Jim seems convinced that you stick a real pickle in the tree, despite Gem and Katherine (sp?) both telling him it's an ornament.

@@creedalyssaI’m from Atlantic Canada and my family do it too. Apparently it’s German in origin according to some some family friends who came from Germany which checks out for us since we got it from my mom’s side which had some German.
We're also German descendants in the Eastern US (Pennsylvania) and we definitely have the Christmas pickle. It's a glass painted ornament!
When I had kids, my sister bought me a Christmas pickle ornament that actually talked to help the kids find it. But my parents was a glass ornament shaped like a pickle.

the best part about the "christmas pickle" thing is that for the longest time it was believed to be a tradition that came from Germany. But recently, in the past like 5 or so years, Germans are coming forward and being like "We do not do that, North America made that up and pinned it on us." But yes, the christmas picked is real and I am the pickle finding champion in my household.
My family is Pennsylvania German and the pickle thing is everywhere in the area. I thought it was German, but maybe it's German-American?

No one knows where it came from. There are 3 main legends that explain where it came from. The most plausible is a Bavarian-American prisoner during the Civil War. Starving, he begged a guard to give him one last pickle before he died. The pity pickle gave him the mental and physical strength to live on.
It's odd, though, because my husband's German family definitely does. He's only 4th gen American, and the ones that came over definitely did this before they moved here.
I love how Skizz still calls Jimmy, Jiggles they have such a cute friendship along with Tango.
Get Tango in on a future Guess the Build - it'd be great! His redstone is so amazing that sometimes it's easy to forget he's also just a talented builder.
I don't think I'll be forgetting anytime soon, just got the HC9 world download and went straight to the Citadel.

Not only is the Christmas Pickle a tradition in my house, i have decided to take it to the next level and drive to my moms house at midnight to hide 20 pickle ornaments all over her house on Christmas morning
This sounds similar to a pagan tradition known as the yule goat where you hide a wooden goat and once it's found it has to be moved to a new home over the festive holiday

This was such a good teamup!! I loved the start where the generation gaps were immediately evident with both gens bringing up films the either had not even heard of 😂 but the Christmas Pickle defies all time and location and cultural boundaries! 🥒 🎄
The start was extra funny to me because I had heard of all the movies Skizz and Tango mentioned and actually have seen them many times, but not a single one Jimmy brought up had I ever heard of… and I’m younger than him by a good few years XD
@johnnyh1732 I'm 26 nearly 27 so basically Jimmy's age and I haven't heard of the movie The Holiday, I do know all the others, but I'm also just huge into Film and while I'm mostly a Horror person I will watch nearly any genre, for example I'm not into Romance unless it's Gothic Romance so don't watch that typically but I don't really care how old a movie is I'll watch it, also super into Film History though again mostly Horror

I think that if they did do lava boats, they should just use the fireproof woods, crimson and warped.

I would love to see a small SMP... Create mod based SMP where redstoners take a novice under their wing and they compete to complete tasks against each other like: Move this block as far as possible. Move from point A to B as fast as possible. Just seeing the creative and out of the box thinking and the whole team work aspect. Maybe it could be a small series, team versus team idea much like the build challenges?
Skizz's build looks great! The post office is cute. And Tango's build is.... I think it speaks for itself.

Gotta love the sheer contrast between how the Ranchers act as hosts compared to as guests. Jimmy visiting Tango on Hermitcraft: awed by even relatively simple redstone, then surprises everyone by just refusing to die over and over in the most impressive run of the guest event. Tango visiting Jimmy on Crazy Christmas: builds a statue of Santa in desperate need of suspenders.
At the end everyone you invited should come back on to just vibe in a mini episode. merrY Christmas jimmy and the gang this has been a fun series for sure.

I love that you incorporate everything you learned from others. I remember the episode from top comment you were you were taught by your friends how to make walls more interesting and how to add all of the little details to a build. You are actually using it in this biild and you do it so well. It shows that it is not just a bit but that you are trying to improve your buildings.

To be fair, the very barebone basic features of the Create mod would fit well with vanilla Minecraft. Then again, the Trial Chambers and Autocrafter seem to be dipping their toes into a more industrial expansion.

It's called Boxing Day because it used to be a day when masters would give their servants boxes with different things like money, gifts, leftovers etc... I learnt it in college recently😊
Icebreaker I - III for boats: lets a boat break through ice at varying rates (rate is in terms of how many blocks of ice it breaks per unit time, maximum). Amphibious I - II: allows a boat to travel over land at a higher fraction of its speed on water (4 bps for I, and 6 bps for II).

Loved the podcast vibes of this episode, really would love to have more videos like this. For the origins of Boxing Day, it has its origin in I think the Victorian era in England (and by extension its colonies) where the rich used to gift boxes of things to the poor on the 26th after Christmas; it was also more widely traditionally a day off for servants at the time.

Christmas pickle must be a Newfie/east coast thing because I’m originally from there and did this before. What my family does is we hide a little pickle ornament in the tree (or sometimes in the coach cushions as a trick) and whoever finds it first gets to open the first present. Not sure if this is the original way it’s but that’s how I’ve done it.
I'm pretty sure it actually originated from Germany if I remember correctly, I'm from the west Coast and do this too

26:26 Fellow Brit here, the reason I've heard is that it was the day boxes of gifts arrived to soldiers on the front during WW1 & WW2, since there were (obviously) delays in transit. Hence 'Boxing day' because that's when the boxes arrived! No idea if that's true or not, it's just the story I was told and I think it's neat.

The pickle is an ornament. Our family tradition is it’s moved and hidden on the tree Christmas morning by Santa, the first one to find it gets to open the first gift. Hope you have a great holiday!
I love this trio together!! This chat while building is a great idea! Christmas Pickle is a German tradition and just starting to make its way to the US. It is a small green ornament of a pickle which blends into the tree and hard to find if you have a lot of decorations. On Christmas Eve the family or guests take turns looking for it. Whomever is the first to find it gets a present!

The christmas pickle is something that started in Germany, I believe. so as it appears in places like canada and america, those people most likely come from German descent. i knew about it, being part german, but never practiced it myself.
