A bit of a spoiler: Okay so think of it like this, looks aside: Marcus represents everything Ginny loves and hates about her parents. He probably reminds her mist of her dad imo. Marcus is artistic, smart, and interesting. Like her dad. But there are downsides to him like that he's can be a bit clueless, a jerk, and even flaky. That flightiness is like her mom who is always making them jet off and like her dad who is always leaving after it doesn't work with her mom. Also, she has real feelings for him, so when he has one of his jerk moments and flighty mannerisms, it further validates her fears about falling in love. Her parents were always in love, but could never stick it out and something always went wrong. The passion and live was never enough to keep them together. So in that respect, choosing the nice, smart guy who it seemed like most of everyone wanted her to be with anyway was less of a risk than Marcus.
Felix tried so hard to be polite to Ms. Curtis, and she just was relentlessly rude. She just would not let up and let him talk. So rude. Ps. Felix was a complete gentlemen and respected his elders. Kudos
