  • Note: the ISO 305 has 18x19 pattern, not 16x19👍 Which racket do you play with?

  • You have a really nice simple serve motion. I would love to have that when I'm nervous serving during critical points. I feel like it's not that risky to double fault with that motion.

    @shipwreck8847@shipwreck8847 Жыл бұрын
    • Thank you. I try to keep every part of my game simple. With my serve it helps to shorten the toss a bit and stay super relaxed during the motion. And if I miss then so be it, but with time it will start to click 👍

  • So the winner is the PD? I have a couple of those extended Andy Roddick's, they're probably one the best racquets ever made. Great balance, power and control.

    • Yesss #1, hard to go against those old versions of the PD. Agreed, they are still so solid after all these years...just the perfect combination of everything, and is one of the very few rackets that pretty much any level can play with!

  • I used to play with tecnifibre XTC 305 , best serving racket and stable at baseline (not good on the net) but i sold it , it killed my shoulder (and elbow). The stifness in paper was ok (63-65) but in the court felt much higher.How was the feeling of isoflex 305 on court , two generations later ? I know the previous rs was stiffer but felt hollow , can you compare xtc with the new one?

    @zxbillfo@zxbillfo Жыл бұрын
    • I can't stand stiff rackets either, with all my injuries they are just no good. Ultra felt a lot stiffer than the Iso. Iso is head heavy so I would add a little weight in handle to make it more well balanced and therefore easier on the joints. The Iso did not feel stiff to me, I really liked it. It did not feel hollow at all, felt very solid. I have not tried the XTC, actually only tried that one Iso from Trechnifibre, but I was impressed.

  • Stupid question, but why do you (and others) prefer 98 sq in vs. 100 sq in so adamantly? What's the benefit? Aren't 100s naturally more stable (with their mass further from the centerline)? Genuinely curious!

    @vanodne@vanodne Жыл бұрын
    • It is a good question. It’s a matter of taste but for me, growing up with smaller head sizes on my rackets (95 sqin or less on all my frames) just feels more at home. When I’m handling heavy pace coming at me, I like that 95-98 size better than 100 or more. Just gives me more control on the counter punching. Today I hit with all sorts of rackets in my job so it’s not that big of a deal, but if I had to play tournaments again, I would prefer that 95-98 👍

    • @@tennisviking Thanks! I think maybe I'm not a clean enough ball-striker for my Extreme Tour 360+ (98 with a couple of grams each at 3/9, 1g at 12). I play great with it when I am "on" but have many shots die on the strings--extremely frustrating--when I'm off and missing the sweet zone.

      @vanodne@vanodne Жыл бұрын
    • @@vanodne just keep experimenting. I love trying new rackets. You could also experiment with strings and tension and see if that helps. And actually atm I prefer to hit with a frame that’s 100sqin 🫣🤣 but I’m not playing matches or anything so I still think I would revert back to the 98-ish if I get back to the tournaments.
