I really like his songs where he putted in some emotional like this song & Eyes wide open. In Eyes wide open he found sounds to put into the song. And he went to a place where he felt happy and lucky. Don't know how it is with Hearts a mess but it sounds kinda emotinal to me and that's what I like about those two songs :) And he's got a great voice ofc ;) So more of this songs would actually be perfect! I honestly didn't know that Gotye had songs other than *that one*. I really like this one.
But I'm desperate to connect And you, you can't live like this :(
Took a job in another country and was leaving my partner when this song was still recent. Played the album on loop as I packed my bags crying by myself. Never been that way before or after, it still resonates all these years after.
Did you reunite with your partner and listen to this song with joy now?
Oh my god, I feel like I could hear this song background for hours....
The anthem of broken people falling in love just to find out they are already too damaged to live happily ever after.
This song is as close to perfection as you can get!!!!
From time to time I come here to cry like a baby over my sad soul that it's reflected perfectly by Gotye vocals.
This is like 1000x better than the music video version, which is already a pretty damn good song. Hearing it how it was intended to be written makes it so damn powerful. Easily one of Gotye's masterpieces.
Why I can’t find this song on Spotify?
After having been a "Somebody that I used to know" fan boy all along, to discover this masterpiece which came out like 6 yrs from the former!! From 2006 and timeless!
Man just went in his studio one day and created a timeless gem
I'v hears thousands songs, I liked the greatest hits.. pink floyd jimi hendix deep purple gun n roses mono x-japan sigur ros dire straits prince and all outstanding singers in the world... but, i never heard a song with this limit of perfection in my life.. you reach a moment when you relize that the best thing ever happened to you in ur life was a song named Heart A Mess! by Gotye! language can't describe nothing.
Mono is not a k-pop, read about them
I feel the same way about Gotye. The drums are great, very Bonham, very jazzy and tight.
This music actually changes as it progresses... What is this witchcraft?
Wym it changes?
it’s called good music ;)
Your music makes me feel like my brain still works, and that excites me!
This song is much better than "Somebody That I Used To Know", I don't understand why it just has 972,670 views.
Dominique Ríos Well now it has 1,145,795 and that's a lot more than some other artists I listen to :)
Savanah Mick Yeah I see :)
official video of it has 18,5 million
Because of GenZ kids who want a peppy tune for everything with minimally deep meaning.
This is not "hit material" unlike Somebody that i used to know. But this is still more listened than most of Gotye's songs (thanks to the movie this was in)
Gotye's music is the only work to hit me like a brick. I can't look into songs by him too close together. Best musician on the internet.
The fact that my heart's a mess brought me here :l
xx
***** :)
Give it a wash
George Rendell It shrunk in the dryer @_@
Aart Ah, I usually just give it a sponge over and leave it out on a towel for an hour or so
the great gatsby was something else
“ You heart a mess , and you won’t admit to it “ I listen to this song since 2008
Criminally underrated as an artist... wow
I swear he is better than every singer like i feel every lyrics and it still gives me chills 🙈
2020, anyone else here?
Sanjana Boggaram you bet
Sector clear.
2021😋
July 2019 and my God this song still makes me crazy
My favorite song.
one of my favorite songs. i hope you are doing well *hugs
This song actually got re-uploaded (yes, there is a video for this), so I'm guessing more people agreed...? Possibly? :D
This Song Has The Key To Everyone's Heart!
I love this song as well as somebody that I used to know.
I listened to these way younger and still love them now.
Who else was led here by The Great Gatsby ,don't even usually watch the whole credits, but thanks to the everyday distractions of Facebook, I heard this songs faint sweet melody in the background ^-^
Right !!
@@maryaddy8151 naah
Me too! I heard this song about seven years ago but then it fell completely of the radar to me, yesterday I saw Gatsby and now I can't stop from listening.
Bully Maguire is in the great Gatsby ;)
Timeless masterpiece of a gem 🤦♂️💚💚
Been using this song to let out my sadness since 2016 still helps
Does anyone else think that the cover art looks like South America?
That's what I thought it was at first pfft. A map of South America.
I thought it was a liver.
It does in a way. Also to me looks sort of like Australia from a side view
It looked like a blood stain to me..🅱️
I didn’t. Do now.
This one's a instant classic.
all time favorite
this song is literally my life ! been listening to it non-stop everyday 💕
Gotye is a genius.
I'm still super pissed that some people call Gotye a "one hit wonder" when this masterpiece exists
The Great Gatsby brought me here
Love the drums
This in my opinion is the best Gotye song. The soundscape is so cool, the distortions, the flutes, the shimmer, the whole percussiveness.... it's so different. I love this And then the climax around the middle of the song. The drums sound kind of like a marching band but not as harsh.... amazing work
Me and my heartbreak are obsessed with this song
Still 🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of my very favorite songs. ♥
I feel like I'm swaying in the breeze, enjoying a mojito on a deserted beach with palm trees and gentle waves lapping back and forth on the golden sand. Peaceful, gentle and bubbly vibes I'm getting of this. Hence why it fits with Hannibal NBC TV series.
its released in 2014 i still wait for this this album to be on spotify
Your music is amazing, thank you so much for sharing your art with us!
Keep on making music! :D X from the Netherlands :)
I‘ve found this song random on Spotify, but in didn’t know it was from somebody that i used to know
i always loop this song
Sounds like the music you’d hear in the intro to a French indie film from the early 2000s
I think this is my favourite song of yours. Beautiful.
WHY IS THIS NOT ON SPOTIFY!!!
0:46 my friends and I hit a stick on a soccer goal and it made almost that exact sound and we started playing the actual song.
He's a musician, I'll give him that. A good one, at that.
was* :(
this always makes me comeback and i get so immersed
I love this song and love the music video for it too
one of my fav songs for years
I heard it on Spotify suffle and I'm so glad i did. It would have been a biggest loss for me if I have found it later. So i can listen this more, while I'm on earth.
whats the name of this on spotify?
I think I just had an out of body experience listening to this........I think this is a sign I should listen to gotye
2020? someone???
I always imagine Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown dressed all 1920s and doing a really intense and emotional tango to this song. Don't ask me why.

I love this song ;-)
This is a masterpiece of art, music, melody and lyrics. It transponds me to another place in such a cozy and intense way even after a decade has passed.
This song is just...amazing. Wow!
someone dear to me recommended this song and now i am listening to it on repeat.
This is literally the most beautiful song I know of
It's like you're floating underwater.
I love this song❤
