Always a great pleasure to talk to scottish and english fans in the Sportspub Tankstelle. Always a great, friendly atmosphere.
This is why I like German football. Less of the posh and money and more fan centric support, fans play a big part in matchdays and club decisions.
We're always banging on about the supposed "superiority" of the Premier League brand, but Germany still knows how to football club properly. The sight of the home supporters behind the goal bouncing and rocking made me a little envious and nostalgic for the time when English fans could enjoy this kind of experience.
it contiouously gets worse though :( instead of traditional big clubs and a competitive league we have the "El Plastico" and Bayern dominance now...

HSV is probably one of the coolest club in Germany. I'm a FC Köln supporter, but I respect their fan base, and what they're going through the last year must be tough for their supporters. There a few teams in second division like HSV which really deserve to be promoted like FC Nürnberg, FC Kaiserslautern, or Hannover 96.
Why are you dropping all the "1." ? It's 1.FC Köln (which can be shortened to "FC" but not "FC Köln"!), 1.FC Kaiserlautern etc. It's almost an insult to shorten the names like that.. as a supporter, you really should know that.. greetings from 🖤💛

I always find the atmosphere in German grounds the best! The Ultras go all day bouncing and singing! I'm hoping to go to more games after going to Der Klassiker last year in Munich! The fans on both sides were great and quite friendly to each other considering they're rivals! Even in Bundesliga 3 there are some big teams with great atmospheres, if you go down to the regional liga's (4th tier) there are some fairly big teams and stadiums like Aachen and Cottbus!
The Germans understand the term "support" unlike us Brits as our fans mostly sing when we're winning and always ready to boo and abuse the teams.

Hi, i`m very glad to find your channel out here! I´m a very big HSV-Fan and have seen you talkin to a fan outside the stadium, i`ve had to think of thogden and awaydays because i watch them very much, but was to shy to speak to you, because you were talking to another one. I didn`t know you`re channel until I came home now, opened youtube, and you`re video has been showed up on the starting screen, that was very weird for me. When I would have known that you was that guy I clearly would have talked to you and explained a bit more about our beuatiful club. I´m very glad that you liked our culture, come again when the derby against pauli takes place ;) I´ve been to southend-sunderland in 2019 and was very enthused about the mood in the lower english leagues, you don`t need to hide that, the passion in england is great too ;) lower leagues are always the most passionate, that´s the only good thing about the relegation 5 years ago, i love the atmosphere against almost every opponent. Gotta say many European fans make our stadiums seem super quiet. I was in the San Siro last week and the Curva Sud is crazy loud. Great vid sir 👏👏👏
wait till we are bundesliga 1
With the Germans the constant drumming just becomes background noise..it's consistent noise it will never go completely silent like in some English stadiums...But I don't think it hits the heights of others because it's almost too consistent and controlled
Maybe you can test the famous betzenberg in Kaiserslautern. The fritz walter stadium is known over the border of Germany. Also called the hell of the devils. Stadium with incredible tradition. German champion 1998 and world championship stadium of 2006. 40,000 crazy soccer supporter in the second german league who live with their club. It's absolutely incredible. Take my advice
They even won their last Bundesliga title in 1998 as a newly promoted team with Otto Rehhagel as their manager (who made Greece's national team win the EURO 2004 in Portugal, another miracle), this is still absolutely unique in German football. I still remember this like it happened yesterday, I've been a 16-year-old boy back then. I hope Kaiserslautern will be back in the Bundesliga in the medium-term or at least in the long term. Hopefully they will replace Hoffenheim or Augsburg one day when it comes to top-flight football, two of the dullest Bundesliga clubs imho with zero passion playing in their soulless, frosty 'modern' stadiums while FCK is probably amongst the five most passionate supported clubs all across Germany.
Great video 🔥
Nice to see you in Hamburg. All the best wishes from Germany.
Nice to see you here finally mate, sad I didn't see you before the game. I hoped you'd come here one day and it's nice to hear so many positive things about our club from you as a neutral. For how long do you stay in Hamburg? If you want to I can show you around our footballing landscape and tell you a bit about that, there are some very interesting stadiums and clubs even beyond HSV and FC St. Pauli here in Hamburg. Let me know if you're interested 🤝
Born and raised in Hamburg, have always lived here, been a loyal HSV fan my entire life. I even have my name and date of birth on a little badge inside the Stadium. It's on the first ever installed "Wall of Kids". It was made for all members of the "Kids-Club", which I joined the year it was created (early 2000's). I feel a very deep connection to that place, because i know that my badge will forever be on the first wall, even if they add another 100 Walls to that. So one day i can go there with my son, get him his badge on Wall 87 or whatever, and show him my name on Wall 1. It's more than a sport to us. The love for our club is like a sacred gem that is passed on to the next generation. Visiting the Stadium has similar effects for my spiritual being as going to church. The sense of unity is definetly similar. Some may say it's just a game, but this is about heroes and tribes, loyalties and devotion; it's our battle and our belief, our commitment and our passion; this is our faith. - FIFA06 Intro :P

@Footy Adventures Atmosphere is catched in your video nice. But, it‘s not about how many people are in the stadium, max 57.000, not 65.000, but how emotional, euphoric, traditional and Fan-by-heart they are! I‘d say in Germany, 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, but as well 3rd Bundesliga and lower, Fan Support is great at many teams. I know many prople already told you to attend a match in Fritz-Walter-Stadium at Betzenberg in Kaiserslautern. Great Atmosphere, as it is a subjective view, and as a Supporter of 1.FC Kaiserslautern myself, I‘d say for real, atmosphere is, even with almost 10.000 places less, better than in this video. I‘m truly looking forward for a video of yours from there, and hope you enjoy it. A place, with tradition, great history, like Championship Match vs. FC Barcelona, Matches against Glasgow Rangers, Ajax Amsterdam, Tottenham Hotspurs, our Match against Scottish FC Kilmarnock, back in 1999, where Fan-Friendships developed, which last until today, UEFA-Cup Quarterfinals, where 1.FC Kaiserslautern lost 1:3 in Madrid, and almost everyone said, we are out, but did. then win with a massive 5:0 win in Kaiserslautern. The team had Legends like Fritz Walter, and his brother Otmar, as well as their team mates Werner Liebrich, Werner Kohlmeyer and Horst Eckel, the so called Walter-Elf, forming half of the German World Cup winning team in 1954. Later Idols of the Club as internationally well-known Hans-Peter Briegel, Andreas Brehme, known besides other legendary matches, for his World Cup winning penalty kick against Italy in 1990, Otto Rehhagel having played for Kaiserslautern, and leading later Kaiserslautern to promote back from 2nd Division into 1st Bundesliga, and winning as promoted team directly the championship, which is, as far as I know, the only team in whole Europe that could win the Championship directly after promotion from 2nd league, Klaus Toppmöller, being the most successful striker for Kaiserslautern, having hit 108 times the goal between 1972 and 1980, and more recent players like Stefan Kuntz, having lead the mostly unknown team in 1991 to win the championship as underdog in the Bundesliga. These are only a few well known names, that weared Kaiserslautern‘s jersey, proud and successful, and surely there are many names unspoken, but not less important for the club and his successes. Not to forget famous Swedish team players in late 1970ies, like that decade during World Cup 1974, world‘s best goalie Ronny Hellström, and further Roland Sandberg, Benny Wendt, … If I can recommend you a thing to do, when coming to a match in Fritz-Walter-Stadium, get early there and get informed, if the Club Museum is opened that day, to have a look into the impressive History of the Club, from original items shown, as well as film and audio clips from various historical moments. Hope to see you/your video and your opinion soon in a Video from your first (and I‘d say, for sure, not your last) visit to a match on the Betzenberg!
Last year I’ve been to Berlin and I went to the Olympic Stadium which is Hertha’s home. It was amazing to see the stadium from within, sadly that day they weren’t playing, but I could take a look around. It was a very impressive stadium which hosted the 1936 olympics. So if you ever get the chance to visit Berlin, I’d highly suggest you to pay them a visit. This looks interesting, I’ve never been to Hamburg before, now I’d love to go to visit HSV, there such a historic team in Germany.
