I TRAVELLED TO GERMANY// Hello lovely people, Hope you're all doing well! After Germany lifted the travel restrictions for the UK, I boarded a plane to see my family in Germany so we could be together for a little while since we couldn't go at Christmas. In today's video, I share the tiny village in Germany where I grew up and just share some private bits. Hope you will enjoy it. Kirsten x

Oh I’m so happy for you. My parents passed away many years ago, you are blessed. What a very sweet video, thank you. I love your stories about your childhood and seeing beautiful places that mean so much to you. The nutcracker is just gorgeous. 💜💜💜
Thank you so much Tonya! Yes, so enjoy spending time with them.
The countryside is lovely and the city was beautiful . Everything is so clean, I just love that.
I'm half German & half Irish. & I love watching the places you visit god bless have a great day🤗🤗
Hello Kirsten from New Hampshire USA! New to your channel. I grew up in a German neighborhood in New Hampshire. I am Dutch decent, but everyone spoke High German when I was a child. This was post WWII and my neighbors were my grandparent's age. Now I have a wonderful friend Ulrike who loves close to our farm. She is helping me relearn German. I appreciate your trip to the bakery. I can enjoy the pastries and practice my German! As I lived three years in Northern England, it is easy to follow you in German and British English. Thank you for all the hard work you do on your channel. I am also following your home restoration. Lovely! Our farm cottage is vintage 1935 rural Americana. All the household antiques have been restored and are in daily use. Thank you again for this wonderful tour ! ~ Diane
Thank you Kirsten for filming on your trip to Germany. It was lovely to see where you grew up and to see the lovely little chapel and the delicious cake. I am so pleased that you were able to see your parents after the disappointment of not seeing them at Christmas. I bet you can’t wait to see Joerg again. Take care and safe journey home. Jane x
Thanks so much Jane! It was so lovely, we just celebrated Christmas in January.
So blessed to have both your parents. The little chapel was precious! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for showing us your hometown. I love the older houses...so much character. And, of course, the lovely chapel. So glad you were able to spend time with your family. There's nothing like be able to be together especially these days. The cakes looked so yummy. Looking forward to your next update.
Thanks so much!
I hope you SEE how lovely you coordinated all the colors you are wearing today. Your natural, softer look is very nice, softer shade of lip stick, with your glasses, and blouse, sweater. Great color palette for you. I enjoy your videos.
So enjoyed watching this ……such beautiful towns, countryside and as you say the only thing making it perfect would have been having Joerg with you! Safe travels back to England 🙏
Thanks so much Frances!
How wonderful you went to visit your parents. It is so nice to see the German countryside & towns…of course, the bakeries with the breads & cakes are

Loved seeing the German countryside and the tasty treats! Would be fun to see the home you grew up in.
Thank you for sharing with us your part of the world and getting to see family! Loved every minute of it! This episode is my favorite so far but missed seeing Joerg.
Thank you Kirsten. What a lovely vlog - so much beauty and serenity, and everything, whether urban or rural, is elegantly manicured. The weather seems crisp and pleasant (no snow). I love hearing you speak German. Enjoy your mini-vacation with your parents, and all the goodies. The nutcracker is fabulous, albeit a bit messy - LOL!
Thanks so much! Hahahah yes, a bit messy, you would usually use it for walnuts but we didn't have any.
Suck a beautiful video! Germany is beautiful ❤️, it's on my bucket list! It looks so peaceful and lovely! Thank you for sharing Kirsten!
I love Tuesdays when there’s a new video from you!
Thanks so much Jeanne!
@JEANNE, I agree, I also love the videos from Kirsten and Jöerg❣️ Just wish they were more frequent...HaHa....hint-hint, teasing you Kirsten. XOX
Such a quaint little chapel ✝️🙏🏻
I think people wonder if you and Joerg speak English at home because you both speak the language very well. So, they are probably wondering how much you practice to be so fluent. 💜
I was thinking the same thing your English is so good.
Your English is phenomenal
Thank you for taking us into the Chapel. In the US we would refer to the chapel “ as an Adoration Chapel”. Just lovely. ❤️
Loved it! Absolutely enjoy seeing Germany and learning more about traditions and such. Glad you were able to spend some time with family!!
Thanks so much!
I love your videos. I'm adding all of them to me comfort videos playlist. Cheers and good health to the two of you and to all the subs.
Thanks so much!
Comfort videos, I love it!🙏🏻😊❤️
This video involved almost all my senses. I enjoyed listening to your childhood memories, Kirsten. And my mouth is still watering by just watching these beautiful cakes you brought to your parents home. And their Villeroy & Boch china is simply divine. Oh, and the sound that nutcracker makes.. puts me back in a Christmas mood. 😀
Thanks so much!
How lovely to share that special little chapel, I really appreciate it 🥰 I enjoyed this little trip to Germany with you, thank you so very much.
Thank you so much!

Thanks so much Carly!
So pleased that you were able to go and see your family x
Thank you so much Sarah!
I love to see your videos from Germany so that was a real treat for me. The small chapel was beautiful and I loved the glass windows. The cakes and chocolates in the local shop looked delicious and your mother’s tea set was perfect for your tea time treat. As always thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much Sylvia! Even though the local bakery in Eppelborn is somewhat old fashioned looking, it's absolutely great, everything is such good quality.

Thank you for taking us along with you Kirsten. It’s lovely to see different parts of the world. My dad was stationed in Germany when he joined the army and he absolutely loved the people and the country itself. Also appreciate that you make your videos in English for us as viewer’s.
Kirsten, I can appreciate your love of your homeland , especially also your special love of the beautiful little Chapel , yes the tree with all the ♥️ hearts , I loved that how precious to be able-to visit your parents , An I love the story of your pole walking with your Father. The cake shop is fabulous , I am so sad we cannot travel Because of the pandemic, I am a senior and yearn to travel Nice to see you enjoy the variety of cake slices an mom’s rose 🌹 delf I can tell your heart is with Joerg and missing him of course. Oh how I love the Nutcracker , so fun 🤩 Mary Canada 🇨🇦
Was für ein schöner Gruß aus dem Saarland ! Immer wieder merkwürdig das eigene Land durch die "Linse" eines anderen zu sehen 🤭.
Vielen Dank!
The darling “heart tree” is wonderful! The walk was just delightful, Kirsten. The chapel was so charming, and the setting was stunning. So glad for your family visit, and taking us from town to country! All good thoughts from Essex, Connecticut.❤️
Germany is equally beautiful as the UK. So enjoyably for you to see and stay with your family. Its really a shame that Jurg couldn't come with you. Lovely china your mom has. 💟🌷🇾🇪
My brother Thomas loved Germany he said it was so clean
Good for you Kiersten🙏. To get the opportunity to spend time with your parents (just you) is awesome….thanks for sharing the beautiful peaceful sights at your parents town. I throughly enjoyed the video- oh! An all those delicious looking desserts 💃💃💃

What beautiful countryside! I can imagine that you miss Joerg! Also, I am very jealous of your weather! It is currently -35 C where I live and we just got 4 ft of snow in one day! but spring will inevitably come again! In the mean time, enjoy Germany!
С удовольствием смотрю ваши передачи.Они просто прекрасные:интересные и с юмором очень доброжелательные и креативные. Вы просто 🙂 супер

I am so pleased for you Kirsten that you were able to finally visit your parents. I know how much they mean to you.
What a lovely village. Thank you for sharing. I love seeing the houses and architecture. And the bakeries of course. Oh my word, everything looked so good.
Dear Kirsten, you amaze me so does Georg, whenever I am in a low mood I look for your videos and it all goes away !!!!
Aloha Kirsten & Family! Thank you! The houses are beautiful! That big house with that enormous wall was so amazing! Hope you had a nice visit! 🥰
I just love seeing the wonderful snippets from Germany. So sweet hearing you and your mom talking together. What a grand nutcracker! Beautiful.
What a beautiful path area to walk in. You were going pretty fast too! Lol. Glad you got to visit your parents. They must have been thrilled to give that stunning gift to you in person. Take care.
Un privilegio vivir junto a la naturaleza. Saludos Kirsten 💙💜💛💚❤️
What a lovely trip home to enjoy time with your parents. And such a quaint little chapel nestled in gorgeous countryside. Germany is beautiful. My brother in law just flew back out to Germany for his job from the U.K. he loves it there and tries to convince my sister to get the kids enrolled in the German schools!!
I have the same nutcracker bought a very long time ago when my children were young in a Montreal toy boutique that imported beautiful German Christmas decorations ... it now belongs to my daughter, also some very traditional St Nicholas window "stick-ons" bought back in the late 70's , early 80's (took very good care of them :)))
We lived in Kottweiler Schwanden. I feel so lucky to have had the experience of living “on the economy” as they say.so enjoyed seeing everything. Brought back such pleasant memories.
This brought back so many wonderful memories of when my family lived in Germany. The bakery windows were always filled with delicious-looking treats and it was so hard to chose! Please always take photographs of those as well as homes and the countryside. We lived in a small rural area similar to your parents'. Thanks for rekindling some very wonderful memories!!
Beautiful seeing you at home so many memories for you . I miss my home town so much in the north of England never get to go there , lived in Somerset for 37 years but Sunderland will always be my home
Loved your walk, congrats on 33 years. My husband and I are celebrating 38 years in May! Celebrating by going on Viking cruise on the Elba River to Prague. Staying in Berlin 3 days prior..any ideas on what to visit? Danke! Love to you both!
Thanks so much Vickie! It will be 34 years, as mentioned in the video I skipped one year lol. Berlin is absolutely amazing, so so much to see.
We have taken that Viking cruise…you will love it❤️🇨🇦❤️
Congratulations 🎉. Enjoy your trip. I would love to experience a Viking cruise.
Have a great time Vickie! Will add Viking Cruise to my bucket list in next visit 🙂
There is such beauty to be found all over the world, isn’t there? Thank-you for sharing your trip to your childhood home, and the towns nearby, Kirsten.
…And, perfect timing that you showed the red hearts in the tree, just as you shared how long you and Joerg have been together. ❤️ 😍
I'm delighted you were able to spend time with your parents. These memories you're making will be precious someday. Enjoy your time and may you all remain in good health.
I saw some Egyptian treasures in your parents home. I spent a summer in Egypt when I was 16 yrs old and my family has a brass tray just like that. 💕
Yes, well spotted! My parents lived in Egypt for 10 years.
Ohh!! My favourite almond cake...haha!!!ate it years ago.🎊 This just feels so wonderful 💐😌 Made my day!💝 Ahh yes! I love that nutcracker 🕊️☺️

The bakery was such a treat. Could almost taste the cheesecakes. Thank you for showing where you grew up. Its lovely & hope to see more on your next visit. Maybe when flowers are blooming!
It’s a wonderful place!
What a sweet video. The town with brick streets is so colorful and clean! You are a thoughtful daughter, flying home to spend time with your parents. Such a lovely, quiet village to walk, and to grow up in. Such a nice sweets shop in your town too. Thank you for taking us along Kirsten 🤗
Thanks so much for watching!
Great video Kirsten❣️I am from the Netherlands, grew up in Australia, lived in Aachen for a while and now for many years live in the United States of America ! I enjoy everything English and have only been to the London area! Your videos are really fun to watch, Thank you both❣️💕
This is wonderful to hear, thanks so much for sharing that.
Kirsten, we so enjoyed seeing Germany! Indeed a blessing for you to see your parents. The shopping village was lovely. Germany is such a beautiful country! Every place is so clean! Although we missed Joerg being at your side, this was an enjoyable video. AND THOSE DESSERTS! Yummy! Thanks, and brightest blessing!
Bonjour Kirsten, le casse noisettes est magnifique, je suis heureuse pour toi et je souhaiterais avoir le même !! c'est une jolie vidéo de ta ville natale ... bon retour au Royaume Uni auprès de ton mari.
Gosh how quiet the streets were at the beginning of the video -it was as if you magically cleared them all for the perfect filming conditions 😄
Hahah that was just because it was in the middle of the week at a time when people were at work.
I love your mum Kirsten she is just wonderful and Im glad you got to see your family afterall. Such a shame Joerg couldnt go with you. Really missed seeing him in the video. The nutcracker is such a beautiful present. Thanks for thinking of us and filming especially in public on your own cant have been easy!
Glad that you got to go to Germany. Your parents live in such a beautiful and peaceful place. I'm glad you and Joerg speak in your native language when it's the two of you in England. Thanks for sharing your happiness, lovely memories, the beautiful chapel, the delicious cakes, and the nutcracker with us. It's great to see this on a gray icy day in the USA.
Vielen Danke ! Sehr schon ! Wir liebe alles 👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤
How nice you got to visit the family ,the area is beautiful ,and the chapel so quaint .
The Nutcracker Soldier is so charming , I should imagine children would be fascinated too and would love to feed him nuts . The tea table looked a treat and the cakes so tempting especially on a cold day ! Glad you are back in Germany for a bit you seemed quite homesick in the video I watched.
Thank you Kirsten. I look forward to your videos. What a gift to be with your parents and for us that we get to “your” Germany. I appreciate your memories and stores you share.
What a beautiful trip! Your Mother is adorable, it’s so nice to hear her again. She has such a lovely voice. You look so happy, I’m so glad you got to go visit. The little chapel was gorgeous! Ohh and all those cakes! This was a very fun video. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so much Rita!
Country roads, cobbled alleys, cakes & bakery goodies are some of my favourite things in your videos Kirsten. Chapel is ' small & beautiful'.
What a lovely video from Germany! I loved to listen to your voices speaking german. I could almost understand or at least get the “gist” of much of it. Your Mother’s voice is so sweet in my ears, you called her” Mutti”. I felt homesick nostalgia when you were having tea with your Mother. My Mother’s kin were Norwegian and my Great grandparents emigrated to Minnesota and North Dakota from Norway. When I was a child my Norwegian elders all spke norse at home to each other and also mixed in with english because the children only spoke english at school and because they wanted them to grow up as americans. There is a musical quality to the way you speak german the lilting rise and fall of the phrases, that sounds so familiar to my ears and brings back memories of my old folks.I always enjoy your visits to the bakeries in Germany and hear you name the cakes. The countryside where you grew up is beautiful and looks so carefully tended and serene and peaceful. And I, also missed seeing Jorge by your side, but i know your parents really enjoyed seeing you.You are a good daughter to them. I want to tell you something about the way you speak english. when I first found your channel, I thought you were American living in England. I was amazed when you and Jorge went to a street fair and drank german beer..you said “I am so German” and I thought what? German? You really do not have a german accent or an british accent . You speak english free of american regional accents, like they speak in the NW of the US. 🌲 Thank you for taking us along on your visit home.💕
How lovely to spend time with your parents, your home town looks wonderful, and those gorgeous cakes it made me hungry!
Sono felice per te che sei andata dal tuoi genitori , grazie per aver mostrato i luoghi della tua gioventù , molto originale lo schiaccianoci ,un abbraccio dolcissima Kirsten a presto 😘♥️
Thank you for such a special video sharing your beautiful home town. I don’t what was more lovely- the countryside, the buildings, the cakes or the sweet relationship you have with your parents. I’m in awe of it all🇨🇦
I enjoyed the lovely houses and the scenery from your walk. The breads and sweets made me hungry. Glad you got to spend time with your family.
In diesem Sinne...... Alles Liebe eure Gabriele
What a lovely walking area and video, including the houses, I liked it all!
Hi Kirsten. What a lovely video! You are clearly so happy to be spending time with your parents…..you just can’t stop smiling. Your walk is absolutely beautiful and your voice is so soothing. I can just picture myself walking along with you. And of course the tea and cake look delicious. All in all…a wonderful video. Thank you 💜🫖
I think it is lovely you visited your parents. And you gave quite the tour, especially at the bakery. But I could tell you really missed your husband.
Thanks so much! Sadly I lost my beloved mother only 5 months ago. It’s so so hard as we were extremely close.
My great-grandmother was German and if someone asked where she came from, she always replied that she was made in Germany and born in America. She was indeed conceived in Germany and her parents came over by ship and she was born in Ohio, USA 3 months after their arrival. I love anything you post of Germany so please feel free to share!
Thank you so much for this lovely video. I enjoyed it so much. Blessings to you and your family.
lovely video, thank you Kirsten. I enjoy seeing the different cups and saucer designs
I'm so happy you got to go see your family! Thank you for the tour also. Be safe. Tell Joerg hello.
Thanks so much!
You have cute hats and scarfs. Love getting videos from you. It's cold everywhere even in florida today it's chilly .The streets are so cool cobblestone. Some places have pubs and then churches next door at least they did in Lemont Illinois Lol.Bakeries are awesome there.Florida has nothing like that.
Lovely to visit your parents moments to treasure my parents passed away over the past 4 years 😢. I do love your Nutcracker.
I am sorry to hear your parents passed away. I am 78 and both of mine have been gone 22 and 26 years. I miss them more than ever.. I enjoy Kirsten and Joerg, they make me feel good inside. such lovely people.
Oh, it's amazing! My husband and I have been together since we were 17 too. We will celebrate 20 years)))). A long way together, what could be better?!
