I have watched so many videos in regards to Sorbact dressing. I work in a residential aged care. I am an RN. I used Sorbact in a type 3 skin tear. It was a deep skin tear. Happened 2 to 3 weeks ago. The skin looked red and macerated. However, it didn't look infected. I used sorbact, placed directly in the wound after cleansing it with prontosan. I used it as a preventative measures. One RN asked me to immediately remove it and use another product. She said the sorbact is only used in some wounds. What do you say about it?

Sorbact has no contraindications and can be used for any kind of wound and at all stages in the wound healing process. The Sorbact product range offers different solutions to be able to adapt to the needs of the specific wound. For skin tears, for example, we also have a dressing with silicone-based borders if preferred. He did not follow the clean technique dressing rolle's, he opened the dressing pouch by himself, then touch the sterile dressing directly, and also did not change gloves when he applied the net bandage, even Sorbact is awounderful dressing.

The dressing can be opened aseptically, and handling it by the outer edges is in line with maintaining cleanliness, considering that the skin is not a sterile surface. Our protocol does not require changing gloves before applying the net bandage, as it is not performed in a sterile environment.
