  • My friends got Russian visa based on invitation letter provided by the hotel. They went to Russian consulate to know all the details, then contacted a hotel in Moscow directly and payed their booking online. All the process took around one week.

Very different from Moscow and my Scottish accent turns heads daily, I’m sure I even look different as people often glance at me when passing but my wife thinks I’m imagining it……I’m not 😂. I’ve not come across any other native English speakers here. The people are fantastic and when I say я из шотландия they are intrigued and surprised I choose to live here in Siberia. Very nice friendly people with a great family oriented culture and traditional values……what’s not to like, I love this country ❤️

The main difficulty in that is test (russian language, history and law basics). The immigrant support center and a Language school, related to RUDN University, helps to prepare for the tests. Check: Dom Migranta, dommigranta. U can get a Student visa from such school as well, and apply for temporary residency when ready to pass the tests. You are right, they overdo with bringnig migrants from Middle Asia, but now (have u heard about tragedy in March) such migrants are not welcome and ordinary people 'been heard now. The border with these countries is almost or completely closed and a Migrant card is being tested now. • Was born and raised here in the U.S. Ancestors of mine emigrated from Scotland (Isle of Skye) long ago. Now, political and financial incompetence (as well as social stupidity and gross ignorance) here in the U.S. is making emigration VERY appealing. The disintegration of family values and absence of common sense are other factors that are prompting me to leave. Oddly enough, Russia keeps popping up on my radar as someplace that still has the values I believe in; I'm 54 years old, so the "culture" of America doesn't necessarily fit with who I am or what I am willing to fight for.

    • Finally, someone has asked about it :) Russian Universities invite foreign students to study in Russia, so they have a 1-year - course to help them with studing Russian language, history and culture. But there are also Language schools, related to Universities, that prepare for residency/citizenship tests. May u check: Dom Migranta (dommigranta). This is an immigrant support center and a Language school, related to RUDN University in Russia, Moscow. They can manage a Student visa for, as far as I understand, they consult, conduct immigrants and preparevfor residency tests and organize the testing proceedure. So, one can come on Student visa, and when he is ready, he can apply for temporary residency and pass the testing. One is allowed to have "3" mark instead of "5". After that one can apply for permanent residency and shuld pess through testing again. After that, one can apply for citizenship. If one has a profession from The List of the most needed professions in Russia 2024, he can apply for a Foreigner's residency permit after 6 months of work in Russia. Important thing here is that your employer has to pay taxes and social fees for u during 6 months. An immigrant lawyer can get a residency quota for, but when you come and applied for residency u have to pass the residency test. Тест на РВП для мигранта - u can train yourself a bit by a free samples of tests. The list of professions is at web-site: migrantcapital...

    • @@Clarkd87 it is not just about getting a visa, u should understand and plan how to not only get to Russia but how to stay then. 1. Working visa - if your job is in the list of the most needed professions 2024, and u work during 6 months in Russia, and your employer pays for u taxes and social fees during these 6 months, than u can apply for a Foreigner's residency permit (Vid na zhitel'stvo - Вид на жительство (ВНЖ)). As u applied u need to pass the tests: medical, language, history and law basics. Тест на ВНЖ для мигранта. 2. Student visa - to prepare for residency tests u need to adress to a Language school. For example, Dom Migranta (which means "a house of migrant") in Moscow is related to RUDN University. As far as I understand, they can arrange a Student visa for u. They consult migrants and prepare for residency tests. Maybe this is a short course, u need to check this. But they organize the testing proceedure, so they prepare for what they are asking. dommigranta (web-site), they have Telegram to contact to. 3. Immigrant lawyers company: movingtorussia (web-site) They can get a residency quota for u, help with preparing papers but u will have to pass the tests mentioned above. And u'll be tied to the region that gave u this residency quota all the way through untill u are given a Permanent residency or a Foreigner's residency permit. If u have Russian roots, then u can join the "Programm for Russia compatriots resettlement 2024". The same Programm is being created for westerners moving to Russia, but it is not ready yet. The list of the most needed professions 2024 at web-site: migrantcapital > vnzh - po - professii - 2024/ Lawyers would tell u to prepare papers that u are not a criminal and have no debts in your country. As far as I understand, u can't apply for residency being on a travel visa. According to the latest rules "Migrant card" is being tested now. It means if u come as a tourist u should leave as a tourist. Students and workers can apply for residency. Or immigrant lawyers can do it ahead, and u can come to the certain region of Russia by travel visa and apply for a residency permit or a Foreigner's residency permit, but u need to pass the tests mentioned above.

    • @@catinforest Thank you for all of the information. Very helpful stuff. I have a more detailed plan than my comment implied. I have a girlfriend in Russia that has friends that have immigrated and gotten married, so we’ve been putting it all together. 1. Tourist visa. 2. Marriage documents (proof of single status affidavit, and I already have a passport) 3. Temporary registration for the flat I’ll be living in within 7 days of arrival. 4. Marriage/temporary residence permit (RVP) ASAP because of new legislation coming up that will introduce restrictions for newly married immigrants. I’ll need to pass some exams for this I believe. 5. Permanent residence -> citizenship eventually. I run an online business that I can operate from anywhere, so employment isn’t an issue. My biggest questions now are the following: 1. What are the nitty-gritty details of registering for a visa as far as where, with whom, price, sponsorship stuff, etc. 2. How sure are you that I can’t get residency from a tourist visa? How would I go about getting an answer for that? 3. If the tourist visa does end up working, is it still necessary to apply to a language school? 4. How necessary to get an immigrant lawyer(s)? 5. Is it necessary to register with the Ministry of Internal Revenue? If so, why? Rough plan, still building it out. Any further advice appreciated.

All big cities offer a multitude of transportation to the populous. No matter if it is NYC, SF, LA, Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam. For the low prices I have to say that in Western countries wages are much higher which leads means prices need to be higher. Of course wages aren’t the only factor pushing on cost. I feel I want good pay for my work so other people probably want the same which means I have to pay more too. Which is fine with me because at the end of the day we all are entitled to be happy.

There is an option u've mentioned, some people even come not for citizenship but to earn many (couple of guys from Bangladesh), they said that in a travel company they were told how to come to Russia for that purpose. But they serve as a supplier stuff - cook food, prepare wood sticks for an oven, not on military position. But this is risky anyway. There are 2 best way to come to Russia: 1. Working visa 2. Student visa There is a List of The most needed professions in Russia 2024. If u have one of them and work in Russia for 6 month, and your employer pays taxes and social fees for u during that time, u can apply for a Foreigner's Residency permit. If your profession is not in the list, u can apply for a quota for temporary residency. But as u applied u have to pass the test (medical test, Russian language test, history and law basics tests). That is why coming to Russia to study Russian language is the better option. U can get a Student visa from a Language school related to University. There is "Dom Migranta" - both a center for immigrants support and a Language school, that prepares for residency/citizenship tests. They organize the testing proceedure, consult and conduct immigrants. They have web-site: dommigranta and Telegram to contact to. There are a lot of Language schools in Russia, some teach online. But not all can garantee a Student visa for u and preporation for residency tests. 3. There is residency visa, that u can get in Russian Embassy. This one means u have to find a job in Russia during 30 days otherwise u have to leave the country. 4. Consult the immgration lawyers movingtorussia - web-site But, their job is to get u to Russia, arrange a residency quota, but u have to pass the tests that I've mentioned above. U as a native Englishspeaking person will be appriciated among Russian pupils, students. Can register yourself as selfemployed or get a job in Skyeng - online school. But to teach legally in Public school or College one has to go through a proceedure of admitting the Eduction Degrees and to up the qualification at Russian courses of teaching English. There is a Progarmm "Zemskiy uchitel' " - a village teacher. U can apply for a position of English teacher in Russian region (get an invitation from regional government). Salary is not high (only if u teach several subjects u can earn more or less enough for living like 30 000 rubles). But they can give u a free house or a flat (this is according to the Programm, but for citizens). zemteacher apkpro - web-site

    • Ranking is based on the Global Peace Index which measures a country’s level of Negative Peace using three domains of peacefulness. It comprises 23 indicators of the absence of violence or fear of violence. The first domain, Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict, uses six statistical indicators to investigate the extent to which countries are involved in internal and external conflicts, as well as their role and duration of involvement in conflicts. The second domain evaluates the level of harmony or discord within a nation; eleven indicators broadly assess what might be described as Societal Safety and Security. The assertion is that low crime rates, minimal terrorist activity and violent demonstrations, harmonious relations with neighbouring countries, a stable political scene and a small proportion of the population being internally displaced or made refugees can be equated with peacefulness. Six further indicators are related to a country’s Militarisation -reflecting the link between a country’s level of military build-up and access to weapons and its level of peacefulness, both domestically and internationally. Comparable data on military expenditure as a percentage of GDP and the number of armed service officers per head are gauged, as are financial contributions to UN peacekeeping missions. Data is from 2023, so Palestinian and Israeli rankings will be inaccurate NZ police don't carry firearms and we have no snakes or large predators, a stable political system, honest society, have a pathetic military and no enemies, so we have a high ranking

  • Dan, why don't u discuss an option of Language school visa? To stay in Russia one has to apply for residency permit or a Foreigner's residency permit. Even if an immigrant lawyer has got a residency quota for an immigrant person, he has to pass the test. Have u checked: Dom Migranta or any other Language schools that prepare for residency/citizenship tests? Or u are planning to have private lessons of Russian language? I am not the one who would help, but as I was interested in the topic, I found the most basic thing for a foreigner, who is willing to come and stay in Russia, is learning the language to pass the residency proceedures. And tell me what is the use that u are making them to hurry up to travel to Russia? Since march 2024 the law has become stricter, now the Migrant card is being tested. But at the same The programm for foreigners resettlement to Russia is being created. Those, who has Russian wifes or husbands has already moved to Russia, some in a process. All the rest has to learn the language 'cos they can't stay for a long in Russia on a travel visa. At the same time, I agree, and this is what Sam from Sam's Russian Adventures was telling about: visit the country first before moving. That is wise.

    • @@Wild-Siberia Not all have money to travel around the world just to check if they would feel themselves ok in other country, especially under a pressure of issues going on. Some people wrote in comments on the topics of moving that they moved to Texas and feel good and safe. As an example of those, who started with Student visas - Siberian Freedom (Russia Guy), RussianHomesteadFamily (Sabrina) and Backyard Russia (Justin and Anita). They started as volunteers helping with construction of houses, but when decided to move they entered the Language school in Novosibirsk, that is related to Novosibirsk State University (not sure, if it is Technical University?) and they had Student visas. Do u know their story? They all came to Russia in 2019, in Summer, than children stayed to study Russian Language and Parents moved back to Australia to sell their farm. When they sold it they couldn't get back to Russia, because of Pandemic restrictions. They moved to Switzerland to their elder daughter, then tried again through Belorussia by business visa, but failed 'cos as Australian citizens where not allowed. They moved to Turkey and adress to Embassy but it turned out that their children that stayed in Russia can't extend their student visas, because our government officials reduced quotas for foreign students 'cos noone could come from abroad at this time and forgot about those who was already in the country. So, imagine, Sabrina has to make a video with her personal adress to the President to help "their family to stay in Russia legally". And she said it in Russian. Since that moment many of Russian people follow the story of this family. Now they live in Altay and try to build the house and a farm (as it was in their plans) but met some unexpected challenges like black soil offroad, strong and have winds. Now they are living in tents. Just for u to know about them. This took them several years to get to permanent residency. Sabrina has Russian passport. Parents are on temporary residency, I suppose. Their way to residency was long but they really had an opportunity to learn the language in General and prepare for residency tests. So, check every University in Russia that invites foreign students have special 1 year long language course or a Language school related to prepare for study in Russia. Тест на РВП для мигранта, тест на ВНЖ для мигранта (по истории, основам права, русскому языку). Разрешается сдать на оценку "3" при тесте на Temporary Residency.

I even found out that there is a cafe in the basement near the spot where Jim stands, which scams people). Btw there is a common scam tactic nowdays in Russia, when you find a girl on a dating app, she "accidentally" lures you to a place(a cafe or a hookah) and then they charge you arm and leg, oftentimes bringing two different menus at different stages and asking to pay in cash. And if you try to not pay a bouncer appears. I myself(a Russian) was once lured to a suspicious place, but did't go in. I know that a lot of guys who wants to move to Russia look for a Russian girlfriend, so choose a place for a date yourself folks and be wary, look for ratings and crouded places, if you cant discern suspiciousness "by eye".
