For the information of others, this song is actually more than just a love song. This song refers to what iKON was experiencing when they were struggling in 2017, when many left the fandom, when many wrote bad articles about them. iKON mentioned that Im ok talks about how sometimes in life, when we experience loneliness or sadness that we don't understand, people's comfort to us becomes poison rather than comfort. And we sometimes hate that we are comforted because we feel like they are pitying us for going through something difficult. And we already feel so small, that feeling being pitied at just makes us feel worse. That is why sometimes we tell them that we're ok, that they don't need to worry, and that even though we choose to be silent. That even though we choose to not let others comfort us, we still end up feeling lonely. But, on the other side, it also sends a message that amongst others, it is us who know ourselves the most that is why sometimes we need that time alone where we learn to understand our own feelings and sorrow. This song is made for those who are depressed and are broken hearted. Hanbin said it so that verse 1 is about life in general and verse 2 is about love. They did it so that many people can relate to this song.

Okay this is my theory, I think that songs that have been released since Love scenario: Love scenario : It is been a while since they were broken up. He felts thankful for all the memories and she bearing the feeling of love. They realised that dragging this relationship would make their relationship worsen. All the scenario that they made were happy as long as she was there (in the memories). Rubber Band : They were in the brink of break up. Both decided to end their relationship because they felt their relationship is just like a tug of war. He knows that she will find another man and having another relationship. This song is before the love scenario happen. Killing Me : He realized that breaking up was too hard for him because her presence was so strong even though she was already gone. The feeling was so strong he feel like it can killing him. The loneliness made the feeling even stronger. Goodbye Road : He starts to feel regret with the love relationship with her. He keeps questioning why the relationship was even made. All of the answer will be, "I will be not so in love and crazy about you until now if we were once not in a very deep relationship." But he realized that Goodbye to her and wish her to have a good life is the only way because everything could not be turn back. I'm Ok :He acted strong in front of her and said that he is okay and he did not a support or help, even an advice from her because he felt that all of this will be a hopeful words comes from her. He actually trying to convince himself mentally even though he realized that the loneliness will attack him from time to time but he force himself to show to her that he is strong without her. He will smile and act nothing happen in front of her even though everything were destroyed inside of him. Her laugh and happy with others actually destroying him inside. This is such a relatable song. I LOVE all of ikon songs. This one is one of my favorites.
Not only this song is inspiring but iKON as a whole group inspired me. Before i knew them, i kinda felt like kpop idols were all the same, showing happy smiles and faces and being happy 24/7. It kinda felt weird, and some of them always seemed unreal, like.. you just can't always be perfect and happy.. we are not perfect that's what makes us humans.. And that's what iKON are. They are the most genuine idols i've known. They get angry, they are brutally honest with each other, they say dirty things, they are awkward, they are too sassy sometimes, they talk about things shamelessly, their fights, their love for wine and soju ect and that's what makes them.. humans? when i first watched iKON on Weekly Idol i remember my jaw always dropped.. i was really surprised to see idols talk like them, i liked them immediately. I love how genuine they are, and i can recognise my flaws in theirs, i can see my awkwardness, craziness and just humanity in them. They made me realize idols aren't supposed to be all smiley and cute at all. And with this song, they show again how genuine they are. iKON always speak from their hearts. They dont only tell us to be ourselves, don't care about others without them doing it. They actually do it and that's the whole point. .. They dont only talk, they act and show the exemple, that's their best quality. I will always be here to support them.
Well said. These are the reasons why i stan them. I know iKON in 2016 and started search for them found WIN and M&M. I am actually a casual listener to kpop music non i trully stan. At first I thought how can they be so genuine. Other idol will cover up and show all the happy side where we should enjoy but not iKON. They share what and how they feel like us normal human being without thinking what effect might come. Starting from there I never regret stanning them.

They feel so unique in that sense, at first i didn’t like because of things that I had read about them, but once I started watching their content I realized they’re just not afraid to show their flaws, and they try to be their most genuine selves which must be really off putting for some people... with most kpop idols I feel like I’m seeing one of their facades and it’s hard for me to truly connect with them, but ikon really makes me feel comfortable and at ease, their youthfulness and how funny they are reminds me of my group of friends from high school which feels really nice and makes me feel close to them☺️

a few months ago, my closest sister traveled abroad for college , i moved into a new school and parted from my best friend for 9 years. my family isn't close to me as the oldest daughter at all, i suffered from anxiety for two months strait , eating and sleeping disorders attacked from all directions. i was lonely as hell , i was simply all alone that i could spend a whole day without a single word. this song is the only appology that i get from the world. the only way to express the feelings that i couldn't put into words is through this song. i i could be nothing but grateful for IKON for such great , warm , relatable art. btw i'm not ikonik but i'm now thinking of it because of this song. such a great supportive community, thank you.

A lot of people underestimate iKON and called them a one hit wonder. Seriously, they know nothing about iKON. iKON got CAK with their debut song My Type and became the first boygroup hit an allkill with debut song. Not to mention that song debuted with 18 roof hits. Rhythm Ta debuted at number 2, Apology at number 1 with 2 roof hits. They got Grand Slam Rookies award, first group to achive that after SHINee in 2008. They won all rookies award in Korea, China and Japan. And the list goes on and on... FYI, Melon uploaded 2 versions of I'm Ok, that is why this song didn't chart well, people streaming the wrong one so it doesn't count. Not to mention I'm Ok is unpromoted song. This is the last song of the New Kids Series. The closure. But I believe iKON will comeback with so many great songs. I trust iKON's music. :)
