  • 18:57 Burn Book is part of the movie Mean Girls. Apparently (said by a KZheadr who re-created the book in a video) is ment to name people on there that you deeply hate. She for example wrote into hers about a girl who snitched on her in school or a boy who joked to her about having a crush without actually meaning it and she drew their faces into the book with their names

    @ACEsParkJunheeWreckedMeHard@ACEsParkJunheeWreckedMeHard5 ай бұрын
    • The burn book from mean girls was made by the antagonist Regina to ridicule all the girls in the school. She eventually adds herself to frame the main girl for writing it before spreading it around school. Not sure if that KZheadr explained it badly but it's more about bullying not really people actually doing anything wrong.

  • The BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant; For more context, Sophie is an orphan who one night is taken from the orphanage by the BFG after she spots him from her bedroom window. The BFG then whisked her away to "Giant Country", where she learned about the BFG and the many bigger giants living there. As you mentioned, the book follows their adventures in Giant Country, which sparks a friendship between Sophie and the BFG. The Books are written by the same person who wrote Matilda, so should definitely read it if you haven't already. The Burn Book is from Mean Girls, it's a book where the characters (high schoolers) write mean comments about their classmates within the pages. Rather than burn it, the book is called "The Burn Book" because it's basically a place where they could "burn" or roast their classmates without them knowing. However, the book is leaked and causes major trouble within their school and for the characters, as classmates turn on each other, trying to figure out who wrote the book.

Kind of false advertising but if it was completely readable then the books would be a lot thicker and a licensing issue probably. A lot of these books I do not know. I am 60 though. :) Three of these books are from a previous min brands capsule, A Christmas Carol, Black Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland. People were buying those books on ebay for 15.00! I think the woman on the cover of one of the Vampire Diaries is the actress from Twilight. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a book AND a movie! I know the Burn Book is a lined page blank book.

There were lovely little pictures ink pictures that went along with the books. • As cute as they are I'm a little horrified that Colleen Hoover's books are included in here. Those are very adult books with mature themes, and to include them in a toy that mostly children will be buying... Thats a little scary to me.

    • ‘Won’t someone think of the children!?!’ I’m not sure these are targeted to kids. Even they are, it’s up to parents to pay attention to what they’re giving their kids. Also, they’re not full readable books.

    • Uhm yeah I wouldn't say Vampire Diaries, Stranger Things and probably not the Pride and Prejudice parody are for small kids either. It's clearly targeted to an older audience. Also how is it a toy? Just because it's minatures or surprises doesn't make it a kids toy 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • I enjoyed Shel Silverstein poetry/stories. The Missing Piece, Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light In the Attic. Loved pretty much any Dr. Suess book, still do. I love rhymes, poetry, and illustrations. As a teen and young adult I was into some Stephen King novels, Dolores Claborn, Green Mile, Gerald's Game (I never read 50 Shades of Grey, but I always tell people Gerald's Game would definitely cool them down) Now I'm into sci-fi and mysteries mostly.

  • I am so so excited for all of my classic children and teen horror. I still have every single one of the Bunnicula books and I even bought the graphic novel just for the nostalgia. I hope that for series two they will add "Cirque Du Freak: The Vampires Assistant" and "The Little Vampire". I'm sure that Angela Somer-Bodenburge would love to see that her books are still being read by by children today and re-read by those who consider her work nostalgic. I even did a full research assessment folder on her art and her life for art history back in the 9th grade. She's a genuine gem 😊

  • My favourite children's book of the classics is "Snøvsen" which is a very Danish book where a lot of expressions are turned literally. Like the name/character "Snøvsen" comes from the polite phrase "gået fra snøvsen"(walked away from the snøvs) which means "have gone crazy/insane", so the main character is someone everyone walks away from because he's such an oddity. It's a really fun and very big book! My second favourite (which my mum got so tired of reading that she bought Snøvsen 😂) was Gulliver's Travels. I loved imagining finding those worlds or being part of them when a traveler like Gulliver arrives!

  • I think what would be really really cool is if they made at least the first chapter readable so people get into the book then feel like they need to go out and buy the actual book. Or have some random pages throughout the whole book that is readable and the rest not for the same effect. I think this is a really cool way to get people to buy and read books again. I love this so much ❤🥰
