  • This is the first and only time anyone has endeavoured to explain to me why it's called "congestive" heart failure and exactly why fluid builds up in the body as a consequence of this disease. Seems like a minor point but it really helped me to remember what the disease is now that I understand that term and hearing someone say "congestive heart failure" doesn't make my heart sink to my stomach anymore because I feel like I've regained some control over understanding this subject. Thanks so much for this video!

It sucks and it took away one of the major people in my life from me, one day he is in his chair because he can’t walk properly (from chf as well) he goes to bed and never wakes up. and boom he’s gone. It’s horrible but thank you for explaining it so more people might take it seriously, god bless 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

It’s so amazing how much I love you. My life was empty before I knew you, but loving you gave me hope. It gave me a reason to keep living, and I'll keep on doing that. In your arms is where I find love; no one brings me happiness the way you do; you're that one person that my heart beats for! I am enamoured with you unrepentantly. I've never felt so complete with anyone before. You make my life feel like a fairytale. I'm mesmerized by the affection you've shown me. Thanks for loving me. • I have a question on the part where it described right sided heart failure with things like ASD and VSD In the video it was stated that the right ventricle would undergo concentric hypertrophy, but wouldn't it be dilation instead of hypertrophy due to volume overload (more blood = more volume) which leads to eccentric hypertrophy (dilation)? The video was insanely helpful, thank you so much for such great work!

  • My uncle just died of this. He lived in a 3rd world country and he would say things like his heart is swollen, his feet were both swelling, his lungs had water in, etc. He had it looked at a few months ago was about to have surgery but they stopped I think when they realised this was pretty much untreatable. He got on meds and he said things like his water was being reduced, his blood pressure was dropping etc. In the last week he moved to his sister's house as he lives alone, he has no wife or kids, he is early middle aged. We were confused when he started calling us, we thought he was recovering so we had one video call with him and he explained, he never mentioned the possibility he would die, he had a depressing tone but my mum tried to uplift him and make him smile, which he did. At the end of the call I thought he was well as he was smiling and I thought he was recovering so we didn't call to check in. He died in his sleep this morning. In the space of a year he went from being a completely normal person to trying to get surgery to fix the problem to realising he only had days to live. What a sad, sad way to go.

    • @@Alona_765 sad, we hear about other people dying all the time but when it comes to family members/people who are close you really can't imagine how life will be like without them. Because they mean so much to you, they are a part of you. Honestly if you know someone is going to die here's what I'd do: first it's making sure to seek medical help, don't just go to one hospital move around and go to different ones, one doctor might not know what to do but another might. After that I'd start making health adjustments, only drink water and eat good healthy food, make sure you're doing something that's productive, these are the things that make having 5 months left to having 2 years left, you make adjustments and optimisations to your health. Lastly I'd just cherish every moment with the person. I really didn't get one thing when I found out my uncle was dying... *why did I wait to know he was dying before I started trying to be nice to them?* no one knows when they will go so I'd say the biggest advice is live every day as if it's your last. Be happy. Achieve the things you've always wanted. Same with your mom, ask her if she had one day left what would she do? Do exactly that. Live a life of no regrets and it will make you and your mom so much closer

  • Thank you so much! I needed the visual aid to help me understand what is going on inside me. And THANK YOU for the "crackling" sound effects. I made mention of the sound of gurgling to my cardiologist and he just sat and stared at me and didn't say a word. I felt so stupid and figured it was another one of those things that happens and no one believes you when you tell them about it. But now I know I'm not stupid! It really is happening and more importantly can be explained! Thank you ever so much for your explanation!
