    • @NaTech94 These are sugar beets and not potatoes. Sugar beets are much bigger (each weighs 0.5-1 kg): This may give you a different perspective on how big these machines are.

    • That's a sugar beet harvester. sugar beets are used, comonly in Europe to make sugar. The Potato harvesters are very different in design, you can search the different brands on Google or on KZhead too. The ROPA Maus which is present in the video with the Harvesters, is used to load the sugar beets in a faster way into the trailer. Ropa has another variation of the Maus called ROPA Nawaro Maus, is used to load into a trailer biogas material, like corn silage or chip woods.

  • Why not have an elevator off the harvester and load the trailer direct. Eliminating that giant Octupus. Thereby saving time, money, and manpower. Just a thought. Amazing machines in action no doubt.

    • In this instance that would indeed be possible. But often times the harvest itself takes place some time before the beets can be transported, and they lay in a pile for a couple of days. In that instance, machines like the Maus come in.There are more reasons they do it this way, but this is one of them.

    • In Belgium, the contracts with the factory state what week you have to deliver. So beets get harvested one or two weeks beforehand and left in a pile on the field. Then when you have to deliver, you arrange for them to be shipped. Because the harvesting is done by contractors, you have to book that on time as well….

  • Yo hice todo ese trabajo a mano arrancabamos la remolacha la descoronabamos y luego la cargabamos a camiones todo a mano es un trabajo muy duro con lluvia o frío había que estar trabajando . Esta es una de las maquinas que celebro que allá porque era un trabajo duro y mal pagado .. Saludos de Chile
