Still ducking the elephant in the room. He says there was no way he had the ability to cancel the fight. That's bull. Surely the contract states both fighters are required to meet certain criteria in order for the fight to happen? If I had been in his situation and (as he claims) had no way to pull his fighter, I'd have gone public with:"We're waiting to hear what's happening as we have reports of a discrepancy during testing. ^ That's all he'd need to say. Then let the media chase it down. Let's be honest, if an undercard fighter popped they'd get yanked from the bill. I've always liked Kalle, but he doesn't come out of this looking shiny. As for Hearn. I can't see how he doesn't face a ban.

Simon is bloody brilliant, he asks the right questions and doesn't pull any punches. You don't have to like the fella but can't deny his method and intelligence, I can see why Mr Hearn avoids sitting opposite him at all costs.At least Kalle has the balls to sit their and get grilled, this is the sort of stuff boxing fans want to see. To many soft scripted interviews with boxing promoters on youtube, put em to the sword more often hold them accountable for there actions then maybe fans would give them more respect.

Lol. Eddie's pretty much the only promoter that doesn't screen or edit his interviews. Could he do more (ie. go on TalkSport)? Probably. I'd actually like him to do more because I think it'd be a good watch. But to say he's only asked easy questions is a bit laughable.

@@BigFly028 They tell the interviewer what they are allowed to ask beforehand. Ben Shalom was the most recent example, being caught on camera doing it. Frank Warren has even gone as far as to ask to see what the interview looks like before it goes out.

The reason they didn't get the notice of the July test is because their fight wasn't signed to August therefor the body didn't need to tell anyone eles, so as much as Simon is asking the good questions he needs to check his info before doing so
However, it should of been made public to at least the opposition they are fighting. The WBC should of done their job and made it public. VADA should of been allowed to publish the findings on the website. The whole thing stinks. If you think Simon's views are wrong you need to find another sport. Crown Green Bowling should be right up your street.

All I did is point out that Simon was wrong on this point and that he was pushing Kelly on somthing when he was in fact wrong. It dosent matter what they should do moral wise as that's not they law, yes as soon as anyone failes it should be public, dived into and people punished and not just the fight anyone involved in covering up helping the fighter take it or get hold of it, but that is not the point I was saying. This fight should never have been made to begin with. Regardless if Benn is guilty or not in taking a banned substance, if fighters have to push their bodies to a limit they are not used to (particularly regarding building muscle mass for a fight weight they are not physiologically suited to) then the probability of this kind of thing happening will be high. Although not perfect, we have weight divisions for a reason.
Eubank made the weight no problem, and he really wanted it so that’s that’s 🥊🥊👍👍also tell the weight ditto canelo , roy Jones jr and usyk

Just a little off topic. For years I have wondered why a system of displaying the 3 judges scoring after every round could not be done. To wait until the end of the fight creates confusion for the boxers and fans. Upto date scoring would give clarity and transparency for all to see

Best interview I've ever seen with Sauerland.
Simon is just doing what reporters should be doing... and it's a breath of fresh air.. but it's Kalle that made this a great interview, for having that nuts to front. And in the fight game, that's what the promoter wants from their fighters - Kalle walks the talk..
So basically Simon is asking all these “difficult” questions but the answer is still the same. It’s up to the board to suspend a fighter and the promoters liable to the fighter. If the fighters want to fight, Kalle or Eddie cannot call it off without leaving themselves liable to damages.
Eddie didn’t leave Joshua to fight Miller or Buatsi to fight Jean pascal after they were found to have drugs in there systems so obviously as a promoter you can pull the fight your own man isn’t gonna sue you for looking after his health. There was that much money at stake in this fight no matter what benn had taken they’d want it to go ahead all party’s kalle included if it was a small hall fight they’d have pulled them out. Whatever Kalle says about that contract it’s not down to the fighter to make the decision.

I think Simon Jordan's right, Kalle Sauerland has a moral duty to his fighter to state that he's not happy with the drug allegation, even if legally he cannot stop the fight he needs to state this to the fighter. However, I suspect he may have been lead by Eddie Hearn?
Kugan Cassius needs to take tips and lessons from Simon and Jim on how to pose difficult questions. All of this interviewing his best friends, mates rates questions and getting round the houses answers is doing him or his company no good. I hope Simon gets into boxing and stands the in place companies on their heads. He might not be everyone's cup of tea but he's honest and straight to the point.

He conveyed the nuance that we weren't privy to, so i think it's fair to give him in the benefit of the doubt in terms of navigating the legalities, given the BBBC's dereliction of responsibility for pulling the fight from the outset, and allowing time for an alternative bout. I also get the remarks concerning the undercard competitors big time.

BBBofC wasnt stopping the fight, why? Simon doesnt seem to comprehend that once the contract is signed the promoter doesnt have a clause that allows them to solely cancel the fight and still recover their costs.

I honestly don't get all this talk about morality in this case. As if boxing with its links to criminal organizations, fighters that are convicted of serious crimes and what not is not a mess. The most respected organization's (WBC) convention seemed like a pimp convention from South park with everyone making offers and the "commitee" aka one guy the boss making decisions made up on the spot instead of having clear procedures for mandatories and following them. In this case one guy failed a test. The testing agency notifies all concerned parties including the commission which has the authority and responsibility to sanction a fight. This guy is just a salesman - if it is legal to sell it he will sell it, its his job. The commision at the time gave to go so they went ahead, until they had a no go. To question one guy who had all the legal rights to proceed with a fight why he did it is pointless - irrelevant if it Kalle or Eddie or whoever. Ask the one who allowed the fight even after getting the results.
Why didn't Jordan grill Frank Warren about Tete's failed test last week when they had him on? Use the same energy. Everyone in here saying Simon got balls but they were absent when he interviewed Frank last week
