  • From tomorrow I will be supervising a pre-entry coughing test for all audience members, on chairs for an hour in the car park. Fail, and you go home. You're welcome.

  • People talk far too much about Jacks ‘ability’. Yes, he’s got a lovely cue action and strikes the ball beautifully BUT he also makes far too many unforced errors. I have seen him miss a lot of the bread and butter balls throughout his career which have cost him severely and his safety game hasn’t improved much. He’s still talked about as a prospect when the reality is he’s already 32. I simply think Jack has found his level and it’s a very good one but I just can’t see him winning the world championship. He’s got a chance at winning another ranking event with a shorter format but things like his shot selection will need to improve. As for Bingham, his class always shows at the crucible and I would love to see him do well again. He’s certainly more well rounded than Lisowski.

    • Spot on! I’ve also identified the fact that he doesn’t have a winners mentality. By that I mean, I think he is afraid of reaching the giddy heights that I think he is more than capable of reaching. It’s almost like self sabotage. What’s perhaps worse is that he is likely oblivious to this.

    • Agree with this about Jack. I find him one of the most frustrating players to watch because he misses so many chances. It seems like if he doesn't make a century, he loses the frame. This kind of play can't possibly win him a tournament like this. I think the media overrate him a little bit, just to create interest more than anything. I think he's fully aware of the weaknesses in his game. This is why I'm happy Stuart won this match. I think he'll put up more of a fight againt Ronnie than Jack would have.

    • There are literally hundreds of players who have all the ability in the world, but as we can all see, there are only a handful (mostly the class of 92) that can actually win anything. Hendry won the World Championship at 21, Jack hasn't won a single tournament and he is 32.

    • @@robday3968 I have played with a number of tour professionals over the last 15 years and I’m not exaggerating when I say that there is some incredible players out there in practice or at local Pro Ams. I remember watching Mark Davis play at my club and it was just brilliant. That being said, I think a player has to be judged by one’s ability to get over the line and win tournaments. So if we’re talking about ‘ability’ in that respect then there’s not many players out there with it. Myself and a number of people I play with regularly tend to make a century in a session and we can play to a very good level when we’re in the zone but there’s absolutely no way that I could replicate that on TV under the greatest pressure.

  • Crazy how Lisowski had better statistics over the course of the match but lost. Shows stats don't always reflect the game.

    • Bingham had the better safety success. His tactical game was on point which was vital in a game with so many missed opportunities.

  • The amount of Ball run on that last break 😂 Stuart living up to his name

    @cloudstrife206@cloudstrife20624 күн бұрын
    • Not just the last break but all through the match. Normally in a long match, luck evens itself out between the two players but I lost count of the number of times where Stuart missed by a long way and the balls finished safe. Even in the final frame, at 00:34 he completely messed up his shot, left a red over the pocket but Jack was left snookered on the red over the pocket. Jack plays his next shot and the cueball manages to find it's way to virtually the only place on the table where the red was on for Stuart! Jack made some bad errors during parts of this match but Stuart definitely had the run of the balls on his side.

  • Needs a convincing win in a close match to lay the ghost. Also needs a proper match head. He’ll get there I’m sure.

  • I feel for Jack such a technically brilliant player and strikes the ball so well when hes in full flow but I just feel he seems to struggle in important pressure moments and until he gets over that hurdle we may start seeing jack further in tournaments.

    • I agree with u 2 a point m8 but in around the Tour it's generally known among Jack's peers of just how gd a player he is & he's felt 2 b a bit of an enigma with regards 2 his lack of success thus far! Personally I believe that he's 2 gd 2 not turn things around as he's still only in his early 30's but I do still have this slight nagging doubt re him maybe being just 2 nice 2 b a consistent winner If u know what I mean? Time will tell I suppose!
