  • Excellent video. I like the trick of using your index finger when making the fig 8 on a bight to keep the rope strands oriented flat and avoid twisting. Good stuff!

I'm going for my level 1 the end of next month,, (sept),,,went and bought a little rope just so I could learn and practice my knots,, as much as I appreciate this,, is there another video that'll explain which knot is used for which purpose by chance.......please and thank you

  • Q: From Climber to RA - Double vs Tripple Scaffold knot? I see in all your videos you use double, is that's what common in Rope Access? Internet says that double wrap version is called Poacher's... And most sources use triple wrap version for actual "Scaffold knot" name... Thanks for sharing all of this content!

    • Hey, Thank you for your comment/questions Most rope techs will only use a double. There is no need for a triple. As for the “true” name. Just like anything. Im sure some knot person is super picky with the true calling of ones name. But in the rope access industry, this is the common term. That could change from industry to industry Im sure.

  • i find very helpfull the "monkey" or "rabbit" story for tie the figure of eight and there is a so simple way of tieing the fishermans knot just overhand and one more time rope end thru the loop ;-)

    • There are a lot of methods people use to teach knots. I like to focus on keeping the knots flat so you have the visual reference throughout the process.
