My best memories are hitching to Cork for the Jazz Festival, with Ray and Louise; going to the Aran Islands with Mark; fishing in the river Shannon with Ray (and staying with his family); going to visit Connemara with my mother, and each and every day I stayed there. My favorite memories are those of sitting on the back patio on a summer evening and listening to my grandfather tell stories of “the old country” while slowly drawing on his pipe…

I left Ireland in the recession of 2009 and went to Sydney in Australia then on to Calgary in Canada but after leaving I missed Ireland so much didn’t realise what I was missing the beauty is amazing so much to see on such a small island

I went to Ireland with my mom. My grandparents came from there. If I won money I would live in Dublin. The people are charming. I love the irish Cubs. I saw people coming in with their dogs and the irish rovers didn't songs. I wish I could live there.

I'm not sure what it is but the music that begins at 52:43 makes me break down crying uncontrollably every single time I hear it. It's so difficult at times in this world to even believe such beauty is possible, even in our closest neighbouring country, but the music, the video... I love your videos. They may even have been the only things keeping me sane and alive these past few months. But nothing quite hits me like that piece of music and these scenes so close to home, so rugged, so beautiful, so far away from blocks of flats and busy roads and building works and... thank you. I totally get that, Alex, as I've wondered about it myself. My best GUESS is (at the moment anyway) is, what these days they're calling, 'epigenetics," where the 'stuff' from previous lifetimes is all stored in our DNA. Things like emotional trauma are often the topic, but if it's true, then I guess it could hold stuff like the physical beauty of a place, it's history (or yours) and the events that occurred there, which in Ireland's case could be stirring up the sorrowful remembrance of the dreadful things that occurred there. Just thought I'd throw that out there as a possibility (food for thought), not saying it's true, don't really know. But I do find it interesting, and it could explain alot of things I feel, but don't really understand why. Cheers, Alex.
