I immediately distrust any company that requires you to blur out literally every other company logo that appears in your video. Surprised they didn't tell you to blur out the logos on your woodworking tools.
I’m not too sure if it’s that or if they do it because they didn’t get money from them being in videos… in my opinion, it’s my tools I can do what want with them, so I’ll blur you out since I’m getting so many views

You can tell that Sleep Number had major control issues on this video. It was too much. Turned me off of wanting to buy a sleep number. Also the blurring out other company names doesn’t fool anyone and is just annoying. Sleep Number needs to give their heads a shake.
Think you could make a behind-the-scenes video where you actually cover the furniture build? Seriously, John, you’re a _successful_ KZheadr, with a business and shop and everything, not a struggling one trying to start off. When a company wants to sponsor your content, you’re in a position to demand they pay you to make _your_ content, not theirs.

This is the exact reason I stopped watching April Wilkerson a few years ago. Personally, I hope the trend of meme videos and infomercials doesn't continue, but if that's what gets viewed and gets him paid, I can't really blame him.

Totally agree! I love John's personality and craft, and don't mind the sponsors on his video's generally, but this was a customer testimonial for a completely unrelated product to his wood working with about 3 mins of crafting bookending it. It's great he could get a free sleep number bed for his family (I just bought one myself and wish I could have gotten it for free) but do it as a separate testimonial video if that's what you need to do, don't sell out to all of us.

Feels like that bed company covered this man's entire pension fund. Beautiful room redeocoration, unfortunate that half of the vid is a guy describing how good of a sleep he had.
I was kinda frustrated when we did ad read, then like 30 seconds of story, then right into another ad read saying the exact same thing.
The amount of censoring every other brand was also very distracting.
Literally came on to say the same thing. Hope he got a good bag for this $$$ because it was a trash video with the 5 ad reads

The blurring is too much. Sorry John but it’s way too distracting and takes away from what your brand is about in my opinion. If this is what you have to do to satisfy a sponsor, then it’s a hard “no” from me. Love your channel but it’s too much. Considering the comments and how distracting the blurring was, I think it's backfired as I kept trying to work out what each of the blurred brands was, only drawing my attention to them more.

I thought exactly the same thing. Forcing you to remove logos of brands that is not in the same market sector to is idiotic and bad marketing tactic.

I love watching your videos as its always interesting to see the building process, the fact that you show when mistakes are made, and that there's always some fun in the videos. I feel that this video however is just an over exaggerated ad. Unfortunately I had to mute it several times because i didn't want to hear about sleep number. I feel like you sort of sold yourself out for this video as you blurred out a lot that you normally wouldn't blur out. I mean i understand that there's reasons behind everything but this video seems like a facade to appease a sponsor and not like something you would normally do. Normally you guys have more fun with the video and there's always some type of shenanigans going on, which makes the video more vibrant and fun for the viewers to watch. Sorry for being critical as i really do like watching your videos and i hope to continue watching them as for the most part you're a lovable goofball that has quirky ideas that come out great. I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy your new bed.

Glad im not the only one that was distracted by all the logos being blurred out...still a cool project but man the blurred stuff made it strange to watch (since that stuffs never blurred out)
Dear editor, if you used a blur mask or rotoscoping to set the blur, you can duplicate the scene and use another part of the shirt/hoodie over the blurred parts. That will make those blurred logos look more natural. You do a great job, thank you for making these videos the best they can be with the footage.
Could you talk a little more about that fancy sleep number bed there John? In all honesty it was a cool build and looks awesome but would have really appreciated more of the video being about the build rather then the bed. With all my heart I want to be a sleep number bed when I grow up 😊

He does this every video and I have no idea why - 20 minutes of build up and then 5 seconds of close up quick cuts where I have to try and pause it to see even part of the finished item. I can't fathom the logic. Just linger on it for 20-30 seconds and give me a wide shot too
I've been waiting for a woodworking video for awhile now instead of the "life hack" videos on why you can't live without straws and rubber bands in your workshop. I got excited when I saw the thumbnail, then I ran into a 17 ½ minute commercial. I'll keep checking in now and then, but I think I'll spend most of my online time elsewhere.
If you don't have a CPAP machine, you need one. That is literally a life saver for me after falling asleep driving during the day years ago. Keep up the great work, JM.
Great build John! Its been said plenty but I'll just add it in again because I think its pretty important. We get it, Sponsors help immensely and I hope you got paid well for this spot but I reckon the Bed Talk vs Build Talk was almost equal. Glad you're getting a good night sleep though, especially with those kids you need it 😅 Also if sleep number is paying attention and they are the ones that stipulated this amount of coverage for the video, you guys are doing yourself a disservice. The bed actually looks pretty cool, but I didnt need to hear about it 5 times to think about it next time im buying a bed. I was wondering the same thing…..but my thought was that KZhead was doing it…like an automatic thing during the upload using an algorithm….because one of the biggest things that was blurred out was the flag with the AR on it. 🤔
@@onehappydawg not sure a thought would be because of the paid sponsorship deal he got with it and they've said there the only brand allowed be in the video. A no from other creators that have talked about stuff like it some don't want other companies in a video sponsored by the company but some don't mind.
@onehappydawg that's the black rifle coffee company banner. It's never blurred out in any other video just this one. Also the main thing that was blurred from the get go was Timbaland pro logo including on his first shirt

As a fellow larger than normal guy with a sleep number bed I hope yours work better for you than mine does for me. I always feel like I'm sloping downhill because 300 pounds makes all the air shoot towards my feet. I wish they had asked a boat mechanic that worked on Zodiacs, like I did in the Marines, about baffles before they made their air bed. My wife loves our new one, close to like what you have, and I miss our old one but the old one was lost in a house fire about 4 years ago. Our daughter loves the zero G setting to play on the bed.

Make sure to get a good warranty with the bed, I'm a technician who fixes these exact bed bases and most of them have issues within 3-6 months. Really love the build though!

It was great to see an actually build video again. I love those and learn a lot from them, but the blurred logos was very off putting and it felt like an infomercial at times. I don't usually comment but I think you listen to your subs and just wanted to give some feedback.

Sleep number is the bomb I tried out the in store display that senses your tension and adjusts to comfort your body and almost fell asleep in the store with the salesman talking to me. Wish I could afford one and one for my dog for that matter.
The bag must have been right to put your editor through all of that blurring. I don’t blame John at all for this one. You can tell sleep number would have been a pain in the ass to work with and probably asked for all those testimonials.

Im looking to do a head board for my bed and a bunk bed for my kids so seeing your vidio is inspirational for some details and really relevent for me, but all the blurred logos are quite distracting during the watch. I get its a sponsor demand but maybe tell them it speaks more about them and their values then they might expect.

I love the fact that his number went down at the end of the video to 89 when he was boasting a 96 earlier in the video. Come on...... Everyone knows that these biased ad reads are not products ever used by the KZheadrs before. I am glad youre getting paid John, you are a fun guy and i think loads of us can relate to you because you just have a go. John, I have been a huge fan of yours for years, I love what you make and love that you make no BS content. Again, huge fan however, I understand that you are getting a cut for talking about the sleep number bed and I am happy that you are getting paid for your incredible talents but I really missed the craftsmanship part of your usual content because you talked about the bed so much. Hearing about the bed once would have been great (Because I understand that you have too) but 4 or 5 times is extremely distracting and I had to skip through this video missing parts of the build. I'm not hating the player, just hating the game. Keep the solid and entertaining content coming!
Great build but all the bluring on random stools a tools got annoying pretty quick. CLoser to the end it was more of a blur hunt. Have they blurred this and that, I could almost see the Makita on the mitre saw

I'm trying to plan out tools for getting into woodworking, everything else is going to have to be cheapest of the cheap but for a sander. I need a low vibration one, ideally a cheap one but I think I'll need to save for a few more months/year to get a suitable one. Any recommendations? My shed for a workshop arrives this month which I'm excited for but damn stuff is expensive
