Synopsis: Bailey is living the good life on the Michigan farm of his boy, Ethan and Ethan's wife Hannah. He even has a new playmate: Ethan and Hannah's baby granddaughter, CJ. The problem is that CJ's mom, Gloria, decides to take CJ away. As Bailey's soul prepares to leave this life for a new one, he makes a promise to Ethan to find CJ and protect her at any cost. Thus begins Bailey's adventure through many lives filled with love, friendship, and devotion.

After we watch “ A dog’s purpose”, we decide to have a puppy as our one more family member. so we bought a border collie puppy two months ago. My kids named him Baily and he is a such clever puppy, he only take 2 weeks to learn how to do potty outdoor. He alway sits in front of the door to stops you leaving the house without him and wagging his tail to welcome you back. We all love him so much.

@@welost2night445 and adorable also beautiful. full of love. the book is sadder let me just say that. i like the family friendly feel to it like when my nephew who is 2 gets attention span can have him watch when he bit older i say age 7. of course i have have him see the first movie. it's so not as sad like heartbreaking marley and me. that for longest time ruined me from watching dog movies. after seeing a dog's purpose back in march and saw the trailer for this saw how going and read books. i was like i got this. am i was i ready. Born Ready.
The whole reincarnation concept really helped after my dog died the other day because it helped to think that her soul was still out there somewhere going off to help another kid

I also had a dog like Bailey and she died soon from cancer. When the vet told me they would have to put her to sleep, my life was smashed to pieces. With time you learn to live with other dogs I love and there may be something of her in them
This movie my sister pushed me to watch so badly i wasnt disappointed even a dogs purpose they all brought me to tears you know the movies good when it hits the spot 😭
Every kid should grow up loving and caring for a dog. They add an extra layer to the mysteries of life. I dont know what would have become of me if i hadnt had my best friend waiting for me when i got home

I STILL can't get over how much the dog in the beginning of the film looks SOOO much like MY, dog, Jack!! (not to mention how smart & protective the Bailey character is, JUST LIKE JACK!!) LOL
the opening scene is supposed to take place in Michigan, which is also my homeplace. They did a great job making it look like Michigan, with the constant farms and fields. Their life at the farmhouse reminds me of when I would visit the house of one of my teachers, who was also a great friend of mine. She had a brittany spaniel named Buddy. We used to ride a go cart through the fields with Buddy. Buddy died last year and I haven't went to the teacher's house since then.

a bit ago i just finished watching this movie was my 3rd time. and i still cried. but couldn't stay sad. it is just so very touching and warm heart.not torture crying. emotional crying is not a bad thing i cry just from something that is cute or happy. like the ending of this movie oh gets me each time sobbing its so beautiful and happy the ending so much better than the one in the book i had hard time picturing when first saw movie but i was extremely pleased. and of course my dog who passed in aug 2015 her birthday is would been on sept 8th if she still here she would be 22. i before watching movie 3rd time found video of the deleted scenes totally needed them. i ever get dog again and it's a male one i plan on naming him Bailey i need a boss dog too. sad they don't live as long as we humans do but our jobs are to love them and them us. protect each other too.
They need to make a part 3 to the movie A Dog Purpose where Ethan is reborn as CJs son and bailey is reborn as the neighbours dog , and when Ethan and Bailey grow up they understand that ( Ethan’s prospective) that the neighbours dog is his boss dog from his past life and Bailey understands that it is his boy Ethan from his past life , and when Ethan gets in his teen years he will remember his wife and house from his past life so he will steal Bailey from the neighbours and run away to find their old house , farm , fields , and horse dog.

If Hannah hadn't blatantly told us her son was gone; I would've immediately suspected he left Gloria. The only thing I would've had a problem with is that the guy didn't take CJ from her in that hypothetical situation.
DragonmanX90 the thing was I don’t think Gloria was a horrible person at first. She was young, and her husband passed away when she was 8 months pregnant. She felt completely alone, and reacted in the wrong way completely, eventually turning to alcohol to cope through it. In the letters her husband wrote she seemed caring and attentive, I think she just lost her way and wasn’t able to find it until much later in life. She also named her daughter Clairty, because of a letter her husband wrote to her which is very touching. But yeah she acted very badly in the beginning but I’m glad she was able to make amends towards the end.

Most unbelievable part is Dennis Quaid groaning while doing work or standing up. That dude is ripped, especially for his age.
I'm not sure how many people feel about this movie but as someone who has a chronic illness and has been brought back many times in my mom huskies lives and in under my Russian blue's cats eyes whom I swear was the same being, as it turns out my mom made the same wish to her husky more than a being that's invisible in the clouds, because I can tell you this... while being homeless with an animal, you'll never go without companionship and the cuddles are free.
Where I was going is that I could swear my cat brought my emotional support rats to me and my housemates when we needed something to hold onto

I'm getting the feeling the reason Gloria acts the way she does because she's struggling to let go of the past or her husband Henry. I feel bad that CJ has to go through this with a mom who hardly pays attention to her or at least try to be strong her daughter like Hannah has. Poor CJ and poor Bailey😔

So many people like Gloria get kids and dogs/pets when they shouldn't even have a goldfish. I really wish there was a lot more public awareness from a young age about how much of a burden it eventually is to have children and/or pets when you're not adequately fit to be a parent to someone whose happines and safety is completely tied to your dedication as a parent but also to your qualifications as a parent.
