I feel so guilty for romancing Nalani several generations ago in my legacy save. We had triplets, and I made her take care of them while I did my own thing for a while. When they aged into children, I brought them back to me. I didn't realize she was so sweet and caring. Justice for Nalani. 🥰

Not the werewolves and aliens. They look weird.
@@hfjireh It did the opposite for me. I loved ghosts and vampires in the earlier sims, was never a fan of the aliens in any sims, and i did like the glowy eyed dog that curses you to become a werewolf in sims 2 because that dog/wolf was creepy. The occults in sims 4 to me have always given the vibe of going to a knock off Disney world in Russia rather than the real deal in Orlando or California..... They always give me a cheap imitation vibe. In this video I've disliked them even more. Not so much the series i just don't like the characters themselves. They didn't feel anything at all like folklore, i kept thinking what's the point of introducing them to the game when they feel like socially awkward teens playing dress up..... And Jame's commentary on them wasn't helping, like him saying the werewolf's howl was "cute" or how he'd constantly giggle at their mediocrity, like instead of them being amazing, mystical and powerful, they give off a corny vibe and they're always clumsy and he'd play it up by pointing out how "quirky" they are. The series is ok, the occults themselves are boring and uninspiring.

It would be cool to do a black widow every death challenge in which a sim marries and kills off a sim for every unique death type in the game and has to keep their ghosts on the home lot for added chaos.

Yeah, people complained about the Mermaids being lackluster compared to Sims 3 but Servos are just way worse in Sims 4.
For real. My Servo got rabid rodent fever. First of all, how did the bubalus bite the Servo’s non-existent metal nose? Secondly, she couldn’t drink the potion to cure herself. 🤦🏻♀️

@@shannaandersonzongo8128 To be fair to James, the game refused to let Lou go on vacation while Lou had a term and he didn't completely make Lou quit (which I appreciate), so he just gave Lou a gap year to rejuvenate and find himself in the jungle I guess lol.

This series proves occult sims are fun and chaotic and need more love. I really with the sims team would work on them more to iron them out and go back and make them all equal. Like how the mermaids and aliens don’t have skill trees

I love that Semaj started off meeting Nalani and was like "cool! Mermaid!". then, he kept meeting people and learning that they, too, were occults, and by the end of the series he was like "I wanna be one, too! just for a couple of days, though, because that would be a lot."
Might be my favorite series to date. I'd love to see this gang return in some capacity down the line, the dynamics are just so perfect.

I have an idea for a new mini-series: "Every animal challenge". Where, little by little, you add all the animals available on the game (dog, cat, raccoon, fox, horse, mini sheep, mini goat, rabbit, cow, llama, chicken, rooster, hen, birds, etc.... You can leave the ones on my first pet stuff pack out if you want. But now that the pack has been free on the store, you could consider using it. What do you think?

This has been one of my favorite challenge series you've done! I love all the new gameplay elements I got to see and the house design is AMAZING. MVP here was Bailey. This girl kept the house afloat with her Copy Pasto and jewelry making until the end!
So much so Semaj wanted to renew his vows with her, even though they weren't even married and Na'lani was his wife....his long suffering wife, lol. Then again, Bailey had to stay cursed just to support the challenge goals. 🤪
The reason you can’t do anything with the Night Wraith is because those special sims have a 6 AM to 6 AM job - not listed as a regular job - that keeps them from ever being available. It’s so these types of sims would be always available for that special job. Butlers, maids, gardeners, etc. etc. function in the same way. Game development thing.
But, I thought he was no longer in that job once he’s in the Household? He never went anywhere as if having a job & like “Santa” or “Easter Bunny,” even Patchy, they no longer do their previous job. For characters like Santa or Night Wraith, the game even generates a new version to continue that job while the former ones are more like regular Sims, but not exactly.
They don’t do the job but they’re still coded for it.

Just so you know, the temple doesn't change unless you have a relic/artifact in your inventory. If you have a relic/artifact it changes to a level 2 temple. If you have one of those stone lotus things from the market it changes to a level 3. And if you have all five stone lotus colors it changes to level 4. The game seems to hint at a level 5 temple but I've never been able to figure out how to unlock it.
Omf I never knew and I’ve been through those darn temples SO many times when I did the challenge to complete all collections. How does the game indicate the level? I gotta look at this tomorrow
@@hannaa2375 The game and EA are both actually quite vague about the whole thing honestly. There is no mention of the temple having different levels/types. But they do progress and get bigger/more complicated in the order I mentioned. And there are subtle hints. Like when you get the one I call the "level 2 temple", there is a pedestal with a Stone Lotus on it for seemingly no reason. You can't interact with it or take it. So that's why I tried getting one and unlocked the next temple variant.

Maybe your next challenge could be to become the worst possible Sim: evil traits, complete the deviance aspirations, top the criminal career. There's probably a lot more things you could throw into this, but these are the main ones I can think of rn. Can imagine you having a lot of fun being dastardly 😂

Haha, The Worst Person challenge or something. Sounds awesome! I would add in the childhood traits you get through behavior. Like instead of empathetic, you earn the opposite one. Like another is emotional control, the opposite of that would be hilarious. I have never had a sim kid achieve the bad ones.

I guess this doesn't matter too much now that the challenge is over, but just for future reference, sims over a certain level in archaeology skill (I think between 3 and 5, can't remember exactly) can "survey for a dig pile" anywhere in Selvadorada, and they usually find one (as in, it just spawns close to where they are standing).
I was hoping James knew that already but oh well
omg I was losing my mind the whole time as he kept hunting for more dig sites instead of just surveying for one 💀
He's used that feature before; I think he just forgot this time!
Wow, the final house is just so amazing, no words for how cool it is. Those floating rooms! I recently tried to take 8 people to the jungle in sims and gave up really quickly, left and came back with just 2. The insect attacks were just like that, over and over again.
I would love to see this household go through some of the other packs and see how they handle the various occults. Like have them tackle strangerville, or vacation in batuu, or try to win a finchwick fair, etc!

If you charge moonstone, it helps with spellcasters, vamps, and werewolves. If you charge nitelite, it will help with aliens, and if you charge amazonite it helps with archeology skill gain

My input on your "Too much stuff in my inventory" problem. Put everything you in a sticker storage box & take out to take with you what you need when you need it. The Sticker storage box is a sims best friend. I use them with every household. I put in a sticker storage box and store things in it and take them out when I need them.
I'm so nervous using boxes) storage in general Imagine with a bug the box becomes empty? I m afraid taking the risk
I do this too! I've got a ❤ sticker box that has pet stuff (cheap litter tray, wellness treats, bowl, Bed etc), its so handy! Same for Camping stuff, Toddler stuff 😊 tidies up the inventory for stuff you don't use all the time, but kick yourself when you don't have it 😅 I wouldn't put Craftables or Photos in a box, if I can't replace it from build/buy, it doesn't go in the box, just in case of a glitch.
@@FireflyBreathit’s only a problem when moving homes tbh. Be sure to put the box in your household inventory beforehand OR take all the items out of the box, then move

Pretty sure the Night Wraith is not supposed to be invited to a household, thus he doesn't appear in any travel with mechanics. Even in MCCC he showed up but not his portrait, which probably means the game is not coded to recognize him as an actual sim.
I have loved every second of this challenge series! Was anyone else kinda waiting for James to remember Vlad could ‘survey for dig pile’ anywhere in Selvadorada? 😂 It didn’t matter at all and the chaos was totally worth it!
The last part with Bailey leaving the wedding to go to the toilet sums up the whole experience for James and how all these colourful characters were doing whatever the heck they wanted. You know that "Bailey, NO!" was absolutely natural.

This series has been great! It had the perfect mix of gameplay, building and of course, chaos! All the diferent occults had so much personality and I really ended up loving them (especially the OG 4)
For hydration you could have had the mermaid call for rain or thunderstorms. I'm pretty sure that gives you hydration/thurst
The building for the Night Wraith looks epic, love the trickery with the floor levels to keep it all within the 4 allowable levels.
I was cracking up at how often James was searching for dig/excavation sites when Vlad was high enough archeology level to just create them wherever with the "survey for dig pile" and "establish excavation site" actions.

He has to though, because of the Big Wallet legacy thing. It’s all about working hard to become rich, and have a family. In whatever way. Then the next heir goes off to form the next lp. You can’t take away all of these years, the hard work and dedication for a fun lp. Because of how horrible the bugs are, not sure what’s taking so long on Maxis part.

For future reference: Buy a retail lot, put the money vault in the retail lot, put however much money in it, lock it. It doesn't count against your property taxes as far as I've seen. I do this all the time when money gets too high in my households or just to add a fun, secretive detail for gameplay.
Custom content for the win! Ravasheen has a money jar/money bag item that works like a vault but doesn’t increase the value.
I'm not sure if it's a glitch or what, but every time you reload the game or travel, the jewelry shows as "drained". If you know there's still a charge left on it, just remove it and then put it back on. Also, Vlad had the ability to click on the ground and "survey" for a dig site and have one just randomly appear. Loved the series and actually just recently finished doing it myself! What fun!
Hi James! Thanks for the Occult series! Maybe a next series could be completing all the goal events by getting gold in each one? I hardly ever play them only because I kinda forget they are there and am a bit intimidated trying to complete the events.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this lets play and decided to play as a werewolf again. I had forgotten how boring and sucky playing as a werewolf was but I gotta keep this family going, I made a commitment 😂 that once he has a child the child can be normal if a wolf. Watching occult play is better than actually playing as an occult. Sucks so bad.
lol No way, I was inspired to start a werewolf game too, and it's been the best time I've had playing sims in a long time. I had my werewolf basically live outside but built a small underground cave for his dog to live in. My werewolf just peed and slept outside and hunted for meat, while I had him work on collections. Now he lives in a nice little house with his cute little werewolf family.

I have no doubt, James already has and idea for the next mini series, but if not - it would be interesting to watch some kind of a challenge where Semaj has to complete all the collections :) Maybe start with 7 babies and once one collection is done, you can age one baby on live stage up :D it would be a pure chaos :)

About dig sites: you can copypasto those in the temple to have more, just like you did with jewerly (works on the lot, not outside). Also high archeology allows you to search for dig sites on the ground - click ground - search for the dig site and one spawn somewhere near.
The night wraith issue with him not being able to be invited to travel is the same for Greg which I added to my household. I think it's related to the trait they might have or just some weird random bug.

This episode was so much more chaotic than I expected, what a great and completely unique series. I've been trying to play more with occults since they're fun but hard to fit into a normal playthrough so I will need to do this challenge when I finish some of my long list of existing challenges. Looking forward to what James comes up with next!
