  • Has everyone forgotten the new race of the depths that Josha, Robbie, and Link discovered? I personally believe that this hero was part of this race. I mean, just look at the statues in the depths, they look different than zonai, even in the stone tapestry that Josha makes, which shows a Zonai (King Rauru) in the center sealing or obtaining his Autobuild power. Heck, even the Miner's set seem to have been made for this race of people. The Ancient Hero was probably part of this race.

  • My guess is that he was a Zonai, mainly because of his feet, tail and nose. Rauru and Mineru resemble different animals and they're brother and sister so to me it's perfectly plausible that a Zonai from a different family tree entirely could have traits of different Animals and red hair and green skin. As to how he's at the 10k calamity is a million dollar question, but I think the intention shown is that he was a Zonai. An explanation could be that the Hero 10k years ago was also wearing the Aspect, and that the spirit inside the aspect is a hero from an even older age when the zonai were still kicking about, after all the aspect only says he saved hyrule, but not that he saved it from a Calamity after all. To your point about the Gerudo Jewelry, the 8th heroine was a voe. The other 7 heroins appreciated him so much they tried to allow him in their town (which in the end he wasn't). So it's perfectly plausible that they at least gifted him the jewelry as thanks. The ancient hero is doing what he designed to do perfectly, and that is make us go "wtf"

    • The tail is super interesting, because it's not Zonai in origin at all, and it's certainly not Gerudo. I like the idea that the Gerudo king lineage passes down something akin to a Saiyan monkey tail. That's how we know that one becomes the evil king. I'm not sure that he necessarily IS Zonai, and the giveaway is not the facial features or the body but the jewellery which is undeniably Gerudo.

      @heylistengaming@heylistengaming8 ай бұрын
    • @@heylistengaming His tail might just be from the fact that he's a different zonai, If Rauru can resemble a goat why can't mr ancient hero resemble a tiger or something else? I do like your point about the monkey tail though. The Jewelry is absoloutley Gerudo, but it doesn't necessarily mean he is a gerudo. He wears the zonite armour, and he has the exact same markings on his body as Sonia. He also must have done something for the constructs to make them hold his aspect in the Zonai temple of time. He was 100% connected to the zonai.

  • 1:50 it is Calamity Ganon. Given that Calamity Ganon is shapeless blob of materialiased bad juju and what we are looking at is highly stylised representation of that blob, it doesn't matter if he looks more like dragon. We don't even know if the tapestry was painted concurrent to the first Calamity or if it something that was created years or even thousands years after the fact. Artist coul have been not born yet, when events happened, so all they could have had to fall onto was depiction of "a beast with pink mane" and they went with it. So yeah, Impa said it's Ganon, it must be Ganon. 10:28 - colours for the characters in the tapestry. If you painted you'd know on the spot that the choices of colours are frankly coherent with highly stylised art painted with limited natural pigments. Something that designer at nintendo understand and something that zelda theorists overthink to death. Red hair/skin in this case might as well be iron oxide pigment that was brownish and oxidised in time into red brown, which is consistent with how pigments work. TBH, my guess is, the ancient hero is more of an easter egg or troll in itself- it was never planned in BOTW, the hero on the tapestry is regular reincarnation of Link, stylised to hell and back, because art, and only then Nintendo decided to go with ancient hero design to make it look like tapestry, because people were wildly teorising who it was, just to mess with those exact people. 12:00 ancient hero aspect is wearing 1:1 zonaite armor, not gerudo. Zonaite armor has red feathers, same colour as ancient hero's hair. The white sash with triangles is exactly same what ancient sages wore and is the equivalent of the blue sash all champions wore in BoTW.

  • "One man is born to the Gerudo every 100 years" is usually why Ganondorf exists in the games he's in, but I've never heard that he *needs* to die before the Gerudo could give birth to another male... nor has it really been established that the Spirit of the Hero *needs* to reincarnate as a Hylian, as much as he just usually is by circumstance. What I mean is: what if, since Ganondorf was sealed for centuries, the Gerudo kept having their 100-year Kings and one of them was a Link?

    @calelkestifer3570@calelkestifer35708 ай бұрын
    • Except there're dialogues from NPCs in Breath of the Wild which outright state there HASN'T been any males born for _hundreds of years_ implying there is a magical reason which _prevents_ a male to be born until the lattest born Gerudo male has died for the new male to take his place. Since Ganondorf was sealed *alive* underneath Hyrule Castle the Gerudo women were unnable to produce males as a result of him living for 10.000+ years. As to the idea of a past Link been born _specifically_ as a Gerudo... personally i don't buy such a possibility given the track record of at least 9 Hylian Links and 3 Gerudo Ganondorfs to be born from the same race only to suddenly change to another with no explanation. I mean in the case of the Zonai i can understand given the still mysterious nature of their race leaving open the possibility for a past Link to be born as a member of the Zonai yet with the Gerudo we have such a consistently Ganondorf-centered race that the scenario of a past Link somehow sharing Ganondorf's ancestry becomes too much of a stretch to be seriously considered.

      @javiervasquez625@javiervasquez6258 ай бұрын
    • There are DEFINITELY NPC's who state that Javier, thank you, AND it's mentioned in Creating a Champion, page 404. No males have been conceived in over 10,000 years as a result of this. Gerudo as a hero...I mean, yes, we have lineage, but are we seriously saying Nintendo couldnt have written a change into the books? We didnt suddenly change fish into birds, and then manage to somehow have BOTH of them in the same timeline? I'm not saying that this was Link either? A hero is chosen by the triforce. We have only ever seen heroes called Link, but in 20,000 years, no-one else stepped up to the plate? Perhaps the triforce chose someone else while there was no Link or Zelda?

  • What if the Gerudo males were exiled from Hyrule out of fear? As we know that Sidon's fiance comes from another place out of hyrule, that means there's a lot of places outbounds, and there's two Zora's Domains that we know about in the globe. Might be there another place with any other race that could take care of the Gerudo Male, even the second zora's domain itself, as we see that zoras trend to take care of a lot of people with their healing powers, sometimes taking care of another races for long periods, just like Link.

    • Still with ages, unless a male Gerudo lives longer than a female or any other race for that atter, we're talking that only one, two max can be alive in any span of 100 years. There are definitely other places outwards of Hyrule. I like to think btw, that due to her colouring, Yona's "Family" are the "Mad Zora", the alternative type of Zora found in games like ALTTP, and they are also exiled from the games due to their excessive violent nature. Sidon met Yona, she always wanted her people to be more peaceful and the marriage to Sidon is a good way to broker her peoples becoming less savage and their way back into Zoras Kingdom. #headcannon Yeah the Zora can heal people with healing magic, but that doesn't stop the effect of aging, I would think. It's a fun idea at least though!

  • But does Ganondorf have to be the voe every 100? He has to be the reincarnation of Demise, but if he exists "alive" under the castle, how does his existence stop the Gerudo from having their one voe? I don't think Ganondorf has to be the one male; he only has to be Gerudo every time he is born. That is to say, Ganondorf is tried to being a Gerudo, but the one voe is not bound to him. Otherwise, the Gerudo would not crown their only son king, because if he was always a reincarnation of Demise, then they would know not to give him that power. 100 years can be as little as two generations, or three. As an example, I had a grandparent born in 1923, his last grandchild was born last year. He might have additional grandchildren, even though he's been gone for a few years. He lived, had a family and had an on-going dialog with the next generation and the generation after that; he even had a handful of great-grand children. The point I'm just trying to make with personal experience is that information from 100 years ago can be passed on orally without breaking, if that information is important enough. Knowing your king will always be Demise would be pretty darn important information to pass on and wouldn't be forgotten. But if you always name your king Ganondorf and only sometimes he is Demise then you don't build that automatic association that would stop the tradition. Also, how / why does Voe armor continue to get made and evolve in design if Ganondorf's absence causes the voe not to be born? Gerudo go out and marry males outside of their culture, but then either live with them aboard, take them home and keep them locked in their houses or live separately while still married. The Gerudo male is allowed to be out and about in plain sight; he's decorated and celebrated, in a society that otherwise shuns and hides the males brought into it. In both Tears and Breath you can buy voe armor from a contemporary shop in-town, suggesting these items are needed more often then every 10,000 years +.

    • Woah Chips, awesome comment. Okay, so lets try to get through this. No. The Gerudo Voe does NOT have to be Ganondorf. There was a period in time before BOTW, before the first calamity, that it was the case that every male became the king but that rule seemed to be abolished with the notion of Royalty within the Gerudo. Notice how Riju and Urbosa are leaders, not royalty, despite wearing crowns. The issue for me doesnt become that every Gerudo Voe must be Ganondorf, but actually that in the time Link is alive, there is no evidence of a Gerudo Voe. In 122 years, there is not one, singular instance when there could be at least 1-2. Not only that but the Vai would be more accustomed to the males in this instance as males would have been born, at least every 100 years, but as they stand they are still taking lessons for how to even approach a male. Perhaps the Voe armour is produced a bit like the Zonai armour sets, for a remnant, a memory of what was once. Perhaps its costume jewellery. I admit, fully that the Voe born every 100 years does not necessarily have to be Ganon, but I cannot see for the life of me how we have no remnant of a Voe at all in the time Link is alive for. The coincidence is far too deep that Link is alive during a period of time where there should have been a Voe, and then wakes up in a similar time where there again should have been a Voe and there is no sight or sound of him. The lack of conversation on it by the Gerudo Vai would have been enough, I mean, surely, to be able to assume that no Gerudo Voe HAS been born recently. You always bring it with your comments, I always have to think about my reply very carefully. Thank you!

Why did you assume that the Gerudo Voe has to be alive whilst Link isnt recovering from Ganondorf at the start of Botw he could have been born roughly 50 years into the 100 year recovery process and died due to conflict. 2. The reason that the royalty system got removed doesnt make much sense as the only person that refers to Ganon as the King of the Gerudo is Rauru which is someone saying that the Gerudos had royalty but what about the Rito and the Gorons why dont they have royalty and if they did why would Mineru call the 4 (Gerudo, Rito, Goron and Zora) leaders and not as Royalty.

  • the point of the ancient hero being gerudo is something i had considered when looking at the aspect. ive seen some folks say that it is the prince of hyrule, being sonia and rauru's child. i have to disagree with that one. in one scene with mineru, the way she speaks of ganondorf is reminiscent of familiarity with him. it felt to me that she knew him before he decided to "ally" himself with they hylians. one thing that wouldnt be mentioned in the game due to nintendo's standards is that it is possible that ganondorf and mineru had a child. mineru is the inquisitive zonai so it wouldnt be out of the realm of possibility that she hooked up with ganondorf if only briefly. this could also explain exactly how ganondorf knew there were only two zonai left. the child would be a hybrid of gerudo and zonai. this would explain the skin tone, the "masks" present on the aspect, and how it could be male. suggesting that the outfit is for a female doesnt make sense as the booba would be exposed, and nintendo has a 0 tolerance policy on that. it is still possible that the ancient hero could be the progeny of sonia, but unless nintendo releases info on the royal bloodline, we simply wont know.

    @patrickaycock3655@patrickaycock36558 ай бұрын
    • also to note that in zelda lore when two races mix, they take on the mother's appearance. sonia being hylian, would have had a child that appeared hylian, as depicted in the ancient tapestry. if mineru had a child, it would appear to be zonai. the ancient hero resembles mineru more than rauru. and if mineru had a child that was male, he could also be the 8th "heroine/hero" as told by gerudo legend. it would be the reason they had to hide that info away. so what i see in the ancient tapestry, is sonia/raurus child - female and first princess of hyrule (named zelda starting the tradition) and the cousin (ganondorf/mineru's child).

  • The only explanation that fits perfectly is that this ancient hero is NOT a zonai. Remember in breath of the wild when there were subtle references to the zonai everywhere? They were supposedly an ancient warlike tribe from Faron, but somehow also had beautiful architecture and spread throughout hyrule? On top of this, in tears of the kingdom we can see that the zonai construction was built over by an entirely different era of some kind of species, mixed up with the zonai. Since the ancient hero is clearly a different species, from a different era compared to the zonai, and can be confused with the zonai, on top of being a warrior, we can assume that this was the species that hyrule mixed up with the zonai tens of thousands of years later. They even claimed credit for the architecture when they just crudely built over the truly genius construction of the actual zonai. They worked with the sheikah, finding a warrior amongst themselves superior to the rest. That was the ancient hero. It would explain why the zonai in breath of the wild have no continuity with the zonai from tears of the kingdom. It was a historical error. A mixup in the record books, just a massive misunderstanding. The actual zonai descended from the skies, build wonderful things, left or died out, and the fake zonai took their place muddling up history.

A different species, perhaps, but NOT connected to the statues in the Depths (you didn't mention that but it has been mentioned today.) The Zonai as we know them being a historical error is quite an interesting idea. You could indeed say that they were fake Zonai, or perhaps Interlopers, when the meaning is taken literally - a person who becomes involved in a place or situation where they are not wanted or are considered not to belong.

  • You know, the Hero's Aspect has a very canid face. I wonder if anyone has considered that the hero's aspect may be a reference to the Wolf spirit that The Hero of Time and Twilight both contained. Breath of the Wild Link was able to team up with Wolf link via amiibo where it's implied he came from the past to help out. but there's something about Link's soul being in the form of a wolf, as while he initially thinks it's a curse, there's no reason for Hero of Time Link to have the form if it is a curse. It's possible that the Hero's Aspect is actually a Twili. A being who lives in a world where darkness is light. Midna already is an anti-hero and is the only "Dark" hero in Hyrule Warriors and thus the fact that the Hero's Aspect appears villainous (akin to Ganondorf) but is purely good may be a reference to that. Plus his feet give away that he's very likely meant to be a canid beast, not a human like the video implies in the end. Thus yeah, I think he's a Twili, a literal Wolf Twili based on the wolf soul of the hero who Link is a constant reincarnation of. Ergo Link's truest form. Though I did like the idea that the Hero's aspect would be a creation by Rauru based loosely on the tales of Link since he didn't know what Link looked like, but that doesn't explain why the hero's aspect would resemble a wolf.

Personally rather than believing in the Ancient Hero being a hybrid i believe he might simply belong to a different _breed_ of Zonai native to the Depths which is seperate to the goat-like Zonai we've seen living on the surface and skies of Hyrule. Like the Lake and River Zora which share the same name yet are still vastly different it's possible that the lion-like Zonai were also just as different to their goat counterparts while still being considered a part of the same species.

  • One theory I've heard was Zonai, Gerudo, Hylian hybrid After all, Zonai can mate with Hylian (Zelda technically is therefore part Zonai), and so can Gerudo (only people Gerudo have been shown to mate with are Hylian), so what ifa decendant (grandchild, great grandchild, etc) of Rauru and Sonia mated with a Gerudo?

    • Its definitely an interesting idea, my only issue is that whilst it is inferred that Rauru and Sonia have a child, come TOTK where is this child? It is said that Mineru and Rauru are the last 2 Zonai. Either the child has to be hidden away in Rauru's time, but that's a mighty big secret to hide when, it simply seems there aren't THAT many people populating Hyrule at the time of Rauru's era. You would think that someone that looks like a Zonai/Human hybrid, or even someone that looks like Queen Sonia would be spotted somewhere. Not unless they were sent up to the sky, but it's understood all of the Zonai came down to Hyrule, as per the stories told by Mineru.

  • Someone below said that they thought the ancient hero was a child of Rauru and Sonia, born before Sonia's death. I think this is partially true. I think that this is a descendant of Rauru and Sonia, but several generations removed. As Sonia and Rauru must have had at least 1 child, due to their bloodline being passed down to Zelda, this is not impossible. After the King and Queen's death, the royal child(ren) would have had to take over governing, at the end of a calamitous war, leaving their kingdom weakened and in need of allies, peace treaties, and agreements of defense. We see that many of the other races in Hyrule have agreements and understandings to protect the royal family at all costs still to the current time in TOTK, and in fact many also seem to swear allegiance if not fealty to the current leader(s) of Hyrule. So, if the child(ren) of Rauru and Sonia needed to reinforce these allegiances, it makes sense that they would have married members of the other major races. Perhaps this ancient hero was a few generations removed from Rauru and Sonia, and perhaps developed a mis-shapen image of what the Zonai looked like from hieroglyphs, using this to create this "aspect" in a time of great danger (The Calamity). The digigrade feet and the tail call this into question, making me think that perhaps the underground statue race may have lived on the surface or at least been important enough to bring into the kingdom with a marriage of a Hyrulian royal. This post: www.reddit.com/r/truezelda/comments/14vt00o/totk_three_theories_about_statues_sages_and_the/ talks about how the mysterious 5th race depicted by the statues in the depths leads to the Central abandoned mine, which is the home of the big Bargainer statue, which happens to look a lot like the creatures on the statues. The creatures on the statues have digigrade legs like the Ancient Hero Aspect, but still we have no race with a lion like tail. Other than that, everything else seems to point at a mixing of races to create this Ancient Hero Aspect from several descendants of Rauru and Sonia.

    @fallyntalyn@fallyntalyn8 ай бұрын
    • Wow, that took some reading - not your post but the reddit link. Always love stuff lik ethis though. The issue then becomes - 5th statues - where did the tail go? The rest looks somewhat right, face looks like it could be the right sort of structure for this race, the body is way too built but these are statues, they're perhaps not historically accurate, but the lack of a tail is puzzling. You would think these would be a main feature of the 5th race? Sonia and Rauru surely had a child due to logic, but the only issue here is that there's no physical time or evidence of them having had one, only evidence to the contrary. The lack of them mentioning this, only saying Zelda is a distant relative is incredibly confusing and feels very incomplete as an answer by the game. Could the link NOT be biological and more spiritual? IE, both imbue the spirit of Hylia? Could this be why Zelda feels SO familiar to Rauru and Sonia, and not because they are literal blood connection? I think the Aspect HAS to be a mix breed of some form at this point. There is something in there that is undeniably Gerudo. There is something undeniably Zonai. Thank you for this! Great comment!

      @heylistengaming@heylistengaming8 ай бұрын
    • @@heylistengaming So, I meant to say something about that in my comment above. But here's my thoughts: When we start mixing breeds, what's to say that the tails from the Zora don't thin out over time and mix with the furry-ness of the 5th race? Obviously it's hard to depict fur on a stone statue, so perhaps its just another by-product of the muddling of the races? To your point about the king and queen not having evidence of a bio child, we are unsure how long after the founding of Hyrule it's been when Zelda appears. It must be some span of time, as there is already a castle, allegiances with the majority of the other races, an army, and peace. Perhaps Sonia and Rauru are older, and their children grown, or out on adventures to become adults? There's so much time for variance that I cannot with certainty believe that there's no biological child. Also, in one cut scene Sonia says she "senses a blood connection" and then goes on to say that Zelda being a distant relative will not be a lie. Also, of another item that says Zelda was with Sonia and Rauru for some time is her learning control of her powers. Zelda in BOTW struggled with this, and she had instructions. I would assume the amount of practice needed to stop a dagger in mid air while hiding unseen must be great. She couldn't stop her cup from falling in the earlier scene. All in all, there's no way for us to know for sure, though it is fun to theorize!

Some have argued that the Lomei might have a connection of sorts with the Zonai given their labyrinths across the game being of course connected to the Zonai via the shrines and symbols. It's been even argued that the Lomei might become the next important tribe in a _third_ game as part of a "Triforce trilogy" involving Wisdom (Sheikah), Courage (Zonai) and now Power (Lomei?). Imagine how cool if eventually someone were to find out a major discovery regarding the Lomei confirming the possibility that yes we ARE getting a third game that further delves into the Ancient Hero and how he fits in the Lore of the series as the first non Hylian incarnation of Link. • Here's my theory. This ancient hero could just be a hybrid. There's enough zone I features and enough highly in features that it could be a hybrid between the two of them. It could also be a hybrid between zoni and gerudo. Also these new games were supposed to serve as a soft reboot for the series, so who knows if the death of ganondorf is now dependent on a male gerudo actually being born. We also don't know what would happen if a zonai interbred with a gerudo, if that hybrid would actually fall under the same rules as a hylian in a garudo breathing. There's a whole lot of possibilities. And let's not mistake the fact that the triforce has been starkly absent. Maybe this hero is an amalgamation created from the triforce to help out of the calamity.

    • There is 100% gerudo there without a doubt. Zonai, I can see as well though I also am unwilling to just rule out that the skin wasn't blackened by gloom damage and this character is more Gerudo than not. There's a lot of talk about this being a retcon or a soft reboot or a rehash of storylines from previous Zelda games. I personally believe that this is none of those things, and that this game is actually correctly placed at the end of the time line and one day I will explain EXACTLY why I think that. There is a very simple logic to how it could all work and therefore would tie in our artifacts from the past. The other very simple answer is that there's no triforce because there's no belief in that divine power anymore. Hear me out on this one, but lets say that each entry is it's own legend. The same story over and over again, but told in different ways by different people in different time periods. Each event that happens reflects the stage that the world is at technologically depending on each game. By the time we reach BOTW/TOTK the belief is stronger in technology and science. We see this via the Shiekah towers, guardians and divine beasts to say the least. The belief in deities is few and far between now, with statues to the Goddess being minimal, smaller things hidden away in towns, with very few people believing in said Goddess - the belief is still there for few, hence their offerings of apples etc, but the majority of people lean more toward the technology and science belief. This would mean that talk of the triforce has dissipated. There ARE references to it, but those references are very subtle and almost housed entirely within the Zonai and Sonia. The biggest one is the tattoo that Sonia has OF THE TRIFORCE on her hand/arm. The royal throne room is also a clue here too, as well as the clothes Link is effectively given by Rauru. There is not much belief of said artifact but those that do have reference to it are likely in direct contact with someone who ascended from the bloodline of someone whom the triforce had an impact on - Hylia, the first hero, etc. By the time we reach these games, the overwhelming consensus is just that the triforce is an artifact lost to time and legend.

However, Calamity dragon takes on the form of a dragon in the "legend" that is told, so that's the perception the people have of the calamity Ganon, when in reality it resembles a weird spider-thing and a boar.

  • A couple of things I like to point out about the Zonai is that they were sent to Hyrule by the gods (with no idea why) and that if their triangle-in-a-triangle pattern is related to the triforce then why are there do damn many of them? The triforce represents Hyrule itself, but the Zonai symbols number like the stars in the sky... What I'm saying is that "Zonai" could actually be a more general term like "alien" (Zonai came from "nazo", meaning mysterious) and thus includes multiple races with different divine origins and lineages. Alternatively, Rauru's fellow Zonai might just be hugely variable in body type and appearance. At least as much as we see with the Zora. The two that we do see are siblings they shouldn't look all that dissimilar even if their species can be. All that said, no matter what, the ancient hero definitely could have lived among and fought beside the Gerudo.

    @3X3NTR1K@3X3NTR1K7 ай бұрын
    • Okay. The Zonai were not SENT to Hyrule by the Gods. They decended to Hyrule and were thought to have the power of Gods. That's step one. The triangle in a triangle pattern is just that, its a triforce PATTERN, it just acknowledges the existence of the Triforce in some time or another. Zonai likely are an alien race, and Zonai COULD be the equivalent of Gaijin in Japanese - an outsider to the world or area. Rauru's deceased, former Zonai, COULD look very different to him, you're absolutely right! They clearly take on forms of other animals - Mineru is a rabbit to Rauru's Goat. Could there have been a dog or a lion in this mix too, of course there could have been! There is no doubt though that this character had a Gerudo influence. That much is absolutely clear. Thank you for the comment!

      @heylistengaming@heylistengaming7 ай бұрын
    • @heylistengaming There's a few interpretations of their concentric triangles that make sense, so it's hardly a sure thing, but I figure it means something. I'll have to double-check the exact wording that was used, but there was some amount of unknown in the statement I remember. The triangles heing in a pattern not exactly proving anything is a fair point. The combination of divine origins and the pattern itself does really feel like a field of stars, though. Alternatively, it could represent that the planet Hyrule is on (the planet of Hyrule?) is a continuous patchwork quilt of divine powers similar to - but not the same - as those granted by the three golden goddesses. This isn't entirely groundless speculation, either, as the Boar, Owl and Dragon gods (I've taken to calling them the Outer Gods) not only are new to the series, AND represent a roughly parallel set of aspects to the Triforce (Mind Body and Spirit) but the maze ruins connected to them are at some of the furthest possible reaches of the map. Specifically, most everywhere where the regional phenomena - or pirate incursions - *aren't.* Even the Gerudo sandstorm seems to only avoid the desert around the southern maze. While it is hard to be confident about what any of this implies, it does feel intentionally designed, so I keep looking for root causes that necessarily introduce all these quirks.

Another theorist has discussed why he thinks that BOTW was a soft reboot of the original Zelda game, why he thinks that TOTK was a soft reboot of Zelda II The Adventure of Link, and why he thinks that the next game will be a soft reboot of A Link to the Past. If that ends up being the case, then the Ancient Hero's Aspect may be "Bunny Link" as he appears in the Dark World, or whatever the equivalent of that might be in the next game. There could be any number of reasons why he might have Gerudo clothing on, and being a Gerudo is not the only possible/plausible explanation for that.

If the Gerudo in Breath and Tears stopped having male children between DK Ganon and the present, perhaps the Ancient Hero is one of the final male Gerudo born because as much as I feel it wouldnt chsnge things, the present day Gerudo probably keep a calendar telling what year the next voe will be born and then go full convent status with no kids being conceived for that year. While it makes sense for a game, the irl implications would say thered probably still be a male born, most likely the first child born in the year after the supposed birth of a new King. • The Gerudo according to CaC have not seen a male born since before the first calamity, which would infer there's no males born since Ganondorf was sealed underneath Hyrule Castle. Im willing to make the assumption based on this that there is something within the curse that tells us that a male cannot be born if another is alive - the same as Link's, there cant be 2 incarnations of Link unless powers of Duplication make it so.

      @heylistengaming@heylistengaming7 ай бұрын

    • Okay well I HAD a reply for you, but apparently did not post it. Clever me. So. It's not necessarily Demise's curse that sets this in motion but there is an implicated rule in that you never see Ganondorf and a Voe in the same world at the same time. The years should have crossed over somewhere after Link awakened from Cyro sleep in BOTW, and so there should have been a voe somewhere, but so far there's only one person pretending to be a Vai, who everyone has got confused for a Voe. He's not at all, he's Hylian for sure. It does seem like there IS a tie though to this, as we don't see another Gerudo male be born. Having done research into this, to double verify, it is ACTUALLY in Creating a Champion. - A male Gerudo hasn't been born since the king who turned into Calamity Ganon. Since that king was technically considered alive while he was sealed, the conditions for another male Gerudo to be born weren't met. This is mentioned on page 405 of Creating a Champion, and seems to stipulate this rule. I think the 4 books are considered Canon now, so that's where I sit on this one.

  • Its possible that we are seeing the ancient hero after undergoing a transformation of sorts. The thing i think people missed when analyzing this hero is that aside from the abnormal physical characteristics he has, he also seems to have a gem in the center of his head, similarly to Ganondorf. In totk, after killing Sonia and taking her stone, Ganondorf starts to transform into a new form. And in this state his hair grows very long, his eye color and pupil size changes, he grows claws, and he grows some horns on top of that. All in all, he looks a lot like a Zonai, but his own version of such. We could being seeing something similar taking place with this hero after possibly absorbing another stone. This could explain why we cannot seem to definitively link him with any race precisely. Because this is most likely not his true form. We have seen through Ganondorf and Zelda that their hair color does not change upon undergoing their transformations. Therefore the ancient hero did have red hair and likely reddish brown skin as shown in the ancient mural. This means that the green skin and other physical traits are transformation changes, and do not reflect his base state, more than likely that of a Male gerudo. With the mural image, the red hair, and the gerudo jewelry....this seems to be the most likely conclusion.

The gem is nearly the same size and hue so I'm feeling like this gem in general is something to do with the leadership of the Gerudo more than a Ganondorf thing. The transformation point is a good one, however we never see a half step like you're proposing this character to be. Zelda doesn't stop halfway through to become a zonai/hylian/dragon hybrid. There is 100% Gerudo in there, I'm not convinced they are Voe though in the slightest.

  • (warning, rambling ahead somewhere) I feel that the Ancient Hero probably has to be a Zonai or Zonai-Hylian/Zonai-Gerudo descendant since s/he wears what is clearly Zonai clothing. Plus Looking at Hylians, Shiekah, Rito, and Zora... The Races can have very diverse looks to them. People even noted Rauru and Mineru having pretty seperate animal themes to them despite being siblings. The Ancient Hero could just be taking after another animal, while also being sufficiently departed from full blooded Zonai to lack the trademark third eye. Also arguably, any iteration of Ganondorf being alive probably shouldn't prevent a male from being born. Not unless he's fully the true embodiment/essence of the Gerudo Male. Even then, as far as i understand, in Hindu or Buddism (which the Legend of Zelda borrows many aspects from), a single soul can basically split off indefinitely. Many deities and figures have mortal avatars that run around mingling with humans, and can even have multiple incarnations/avatars meet each other. In-universe for the Zelda series, there probably shouldn't be any reason we can't have two or more Ganondorfs running around. Along with the theoretical possibility of Sonia and Rauru's era taking place 400-ish years before Ocarina... the Koume and Kotake who cameoed in the memories might be the same Koume and Kotake from Ocarina. MEANING Ocarina's Ganondorf might be named after Twinrova's first boss, TotK's Ganondorf. Which is actually wild to think about in general; some "repeating" characters in the series might just be named after a distant relative (canon by law for every Zelda ever after the game Zelda 1) or some famous person in a history book. .

    • Rambling is perfectly fine, my friend! So I am now pretty sure that there is a Gerudo/Zonai mix going on. Hylian, I think is semi inferred anyway because the Gerudo are, at best, a half breed of races anyway as the Gerudo, to survive, MUST mate with a Hylian male and then the females get called back to the Gerudo town at a certain age. However, Creating a Champion, page 404 confirms by proxy that Ganondorf must be defeated in order for another male to be born into the Gerudo race. That male then becomes king by proxy. I am taking this as the absolute canon. Ocarina of Time....the swords are Koume and Kotake in TOTK and are named as such in honour of the Gerudo witches. TOTK coming before OOT is a new one on me, I've not heard this placement and I don't subscribe to it at all, due to the fact that artifacts from AFTER the timeline split are found across the world.

They banished the statue bc of that fact. What if this was that hero, maybe it even was a Link or maybe a gerudo voe. But just like with Hylia, we sometimes see her with crown and harp, while the statues look more like angelic matrushkas (the Russian doll that gets smaller when you take the top off). Just like wit certain gods or legendary figures who have different depictions in different cultures. Also with the story of tears of the kingdom where we see Gannondorf was sealed before the Calamity (though we don't know how long) the line about "A male has not been born into the Gerudo since Calamity Ganon" could take on another meaning. Till present day where when Link and Zelda come across the imprisoning chamber, we see that the body of Ganondorf remains but the body of rauru is no where to be seen. And I asked why is that the case, that Ganons corpse still remains while Rauru's disappears. MY THEORY: My theory is that, somehow in order for ganondorf to escape the seal, he tries to reincarnate and in doing so he somehow uses the body of Rauru (Hints: Hero's Aspect appears to be both zonai and geurdo race, having an appearance of both races combined) and since Rauru is powerful and a deity of some sort, the reincarnation of "Ganondorf" was more of a good nature than evil, and common knowledge that the master sword is only wielded by Link and chooses Link, but in the ancient battle, it'd make sense for the Master sword to choose the "reincarnation" that has Rauru's spirit in a sense to battle it out since Rauru's the King. To summarize, the anicent hero is both gerudo and zonai, (only gerudo's have red hair out of any race in the entire series), and Ganondorf attempts to renicarnate using Rauru's body and in doing so created the ancient hero. • I'd LIKE to think this is as the easy answer, but too many questions remain; What happened to the child? Why is he/she nowhere to be seen come the time of Rauru and Sonia when Zelda lands with them? If the ancient hero is their direct offspring, how has it survived close to 10,000 years between Raurus time and the time of the calamity? Remembering that the calamity happens some 10k years after G'dorf is sealed under HC. This approach leaves more questions than I can answer, which is why I DON'T think the Ancient Hero is at all, a descendant.

  • My best guess personally is that its a Gerudo/Zonai child. The Gerudo seek out members of other races to have children, and generally the Gerudo genes are so strong that they take over in almost all aspects. However, a Gerudo making a baby with a demi-god such as the Zonai could have interesting implications for their look. Perhaps this is a male Gerudo/Zonai, however it is not an incarnation of Ganondorf/Demise because Ganondorf is still sealed away. This theory would even explain why the hero has a mixture of Zonai and Gerudo jewelry as they seek to honor both sides of their heritage. The only thing it doesnt explain is the tail, maybe you could argue thats part of the Gerudo genes and Ganondorfs heritage is the reason he transforms into a boar?

  • My guess was that 'the Ancient Hero' is the grown up child of King Rauru and Queen Sonia, born between the time of Zelda's arrival into the past and Sonia's demise. It was never stated how long Zelda was around before she… transformed herself, so Rauru's statement that he and his sister are the last Zonia, at THAT time would be technically true, before Sonia giving birth. I also like to think the Zonia genes are in most of the royal Hylian heritage, just diluted over many generations, thus the dormant godly Zonia powers, maybe.

    @JoshArtisticGenius@JoshArtisticGenius8 ай бұрын
    • I thought this at first too, genuinely! Then I did some research and ruled out Zonai or Zonai hybrid because of timescales! The zonai are all gone by the time Raurus era is over. Ganondorf explicitly states they are the last 2 as does Rauru. Unless my favourite goat/dragon liar is at it again, we have to believe he and Mineru are the last 2. Now timescales state this much: the Calamity doesn't happen straight after the events of TOTK's past sections. It happens many years after. Ganondorf by the time Link and Zelda unseal him has been down there for at least 20k years, and has unleashed at least 2 calamities, each 10k years apart. The ancient hero could not have been the child of Rauru and Sonia as timescales don't like up. An ascendant is possible but then why are they covered in Gerudo jewelry and have the flame hair of the Gerudo?

The rules of the Hylian tell us that the appearance of a child will always mimic that of the mother. This would then allow a Gerudo female to have had relations with a male Zonai PRIOR to Rauru/Sonia. This hybrid lives within the Gerudo lands, hidden away on pain of death of discovery. • Personally, I think the ancient hero may be a hybrid of Gerudo and HEAR ME OUT: Picori. From Minish cap. Regardless of where you place totk in the timeline (I put it post SS, pre MC) I think you could reason that the Zonai are either evolutions of or proto- versions of the Picori. They have the large ears and animal snouts, but what I find really interesting is the Ancient hero's tail, which is something the Picori have. Also, in Minish cap, during Link's transformations when he shrinks (particularly the first time) the writing that appears around him looks very similar to the Zonai writing we see in game- their magic at the end as well (particularly exuded by the Mages cap itself as Zelda uses it) is also a blueish green color.

    • The picori idea is actually quite interesting. The mix of Gerudo seems inevitable. The only issue I see is the markings on the body, that are definitely some form of either Zonai or burn mark from gloom. The Zonai armour is also a bit of a give away that they are, to some degree, Zonai. TOTK though is WAY after MC in the timeline. There are numerous reasons why TOTK actually falls at the end of the timeline. For a start, the finding of items from EVERY game in the series. Things like Majora's mask, the Twilight set and the Wind Waker set cannot be gained if these events have not yet happened. There is also a consistency in the item descriptions which indicates that these items are from a long time passed. The next big hint is the fact that the Rito, who arrive in Wind Waker, are existent within the world of Hyrule. These would not be existent if the events of Wind Waker do not occur and the great flood does not happen. In order for those to happen, TOTK simply HAS to happen after Wind Waker. Wind Waker is at the end of the adult timeline. I think the Minish end up being the Kokiri in time to come. It's a bit of a stretch, but its my absolute best guess as to what happens with them. Either that or unfortunately, The Minish fail to exist after the time gap after MC.

    • I do take some issue with the idea that the sets from the past games are canon- similar to the amiibo wolf etc, I don’t find them likely to be canon based on the descriptors we’re given for them, and where they’re found (why would they be in the mines?) to me the sets are more to encourage exploration and provide some kind of reward for the player. As for the rito I would say you have me there- If it weren’t for Twilight princess HD. I believe it was Miyamoto (or someone) who said that the HD Twilight princess came out that there were some more details made that were meant to make you go “aha-“ and one such detail was the addition of a mural in castletown which seems to depict the oocaa, what looks to be the hero of time, and 2 birdlike figures that look veryyy much like Rito. Now they do seem to have the human-ish face of the rito from wind waker which the rito in botw/totk don’t seem to have EXCEPT- In totk, we never see the ancient rito sage’s face. For all we know, he looks like an ancient rito under the mask. Perhaps there was a sect of rito who evolved earlier than the zora, then taught them to be rito during the great flood. As for why they’re not in past games, I see 2 possibilities. 1. They lived in Hebra, which isn’t a region visited in most Zelda games 2. they lived in the sky after the totk imprisoning war. honestly, they’re BIRDS. If i were them I wouldn’t wanna deal with Hyrule’s shi either, when Ganondorf came back in oot, when they dealt with vaati, etc. why would they bother honestly, Hyrule’s a damn mess constantly.

  • So, this was an interesting video...however, we're forgetting about the other clues and other possibilities that would explain who the ancient hero is. 1. We know that Master Sword can only weirded by someone who shares the blood of the hero...so mean there is a blood connection. 2. Rauru and Sonia should also have a child or children, let's say the daughter keeps Hylian features but the son has both Zonai and Hylian features. 3. The Ancient Hero is one of the 8 Heroines of the Gerurdo but was discovered to be a Voe. Which is why that statue is outside the region and the sword is on the mountain top in stone. A call back when the sword is done being used, it must return to rest. 4. In BOTW, when Link is trying to enter Gerudo Town, he get a Vai outfit from a strange looking person with a vail cover his face. If you maneuver a little to look under the vain, you'll see a Hylian-Zonai looking face. 5. The armor of the ancient hero is the same as the Zonai Knight Armor. 6. The Zonai are humanoid-dragons, just look at the horns, the faces and bodies. When, Ganondorf uses the secret stone, he grows horns, his hair grows and looks like a red colored zonai style like Rauru's. Let's play with the evolution of the Gerudo a bit. Red hair, long-sloped noses, bright colored eyes. Slinder body types...and Ganondorf's father and mother are unknown, only that he is adopted by Twinrova. The Triforce aka The Master Force as is actually called is only wielded by Bloodline decendants of Hylia. Now, a betting person would say that this whole saga has been told and retold for several generations which is why it is legend. Like all decendants everything branches out...the Royal comes from Zelda, which we see as Hylians where we see the Hylian Rauru is named as namesake for an Ancestor, the Sheikah comes from Mineru for her knowledge of magic and technology, and the other races were already established prior when they allied themselves with Hylia to fight off the evil forces prior to Skyward Sword. It would make sense to step back a little and remember that there 100's or 1000' year gaps. The first Calamity occurred 10,000 years ago. Do a real timeline and trace everything back by 100 year increments.

    • What a comment, I love how involved you guys get. 1. Master Sword - I always interpreted the rule a bit more of a camelot/excalibur thing of it being a "true hero" that can pull the sword from the pedestal. Not necessarily someone of the first hero's blood. This is because as far as I am aware, each incarnation of Link has actually been from a different bloodline. The only common factor is that they are touched by the triforce in some degree. 2. Somewhere they have a child but we have no knowledge of who, what, where or when. This is such a glossed over idea by Nintendo - we know Zelda is an descendent from thousands of years in the future but Rauru and Sonia both die during the events of the game and it seems impossible for them to have had a child unless they had one before and it hid away for years, but how was it not seen? 3. Conjecture my friend. There's no actual proof of the ancient hero being the 8th, just the stories do go well together. The 8th is a voe, this is true. Again though, these are just stories, and how do we not know that the meanings got lost to time? Males are easily changed to females through stories lost to time, and vice versa. 4. I covered the maneuvering under the veil in the comments and actually all you see when you move the camera around is a really pale, white pasty face...a male Hylian. 5. Yes, agreed, but ANY hero could well wear this armour - let's not forget, Link has a set of this armour too and we are pretty sure he's not Zonai too. 6. I said in the video they are part dragon. The Zonai in this instance are humanoid/animal/dragon - Mineru being a rabbit and Rauru being a goat. I actually subscribe to the point you made at the end - the legend has been told over and over again and things have been lost to the legend. The idea of a male being the 8th could have changed. It's actually funny, stepping back and going "Oh what happened in between these times" is actually what led to this idea to begin with. I wasn't looking at the 10's of thousands of years ago but the 100's of years ago, and the thousands, where this character came to be. Your comment, in a weird way while looking to disprove my theory actually managed to help prove it more, by stating that things get lost to the legends over time. Thank you very much for the comment and well thought out words. I really appreciate it!

  • You make a strong case regarding the differences between the Aspect and the Zonai- I had always thought the Aspect was one, but you opened my eyes. However, you started to lose me around the whole "burnt skin" part, and it all just began to feel like a tinfoil hat theory. First off, if you look at Link's arm after it has made contact with gloom, it is severely blackened and burnt, not only is it a darker color, but there are visible wounds everywhere about it. The Aspect's skin, however, is clearly smooth and free of scars or marks. You use the coloration of the tapestry as evidence towards your point but this is a ten thousand year old piece of art and it's depictions of these people are heavily stylized. If we disregard the stylization and interpret these depictions at face value, the point you raise is just false anyways. You say that Zelda's skin tone matches the Hero's when it clearly doesn't? Zelda's is a bit more pink/orange while the Hero's is bright red, like his hair. The Aspect's face wasn't "brighter" back then, it was just stylized to be red because of his striking long red hair that covered most of his head. After this you somehow go on to tie the Aspect to the Gerudo? Because of it's outfit/accessories? My brother in Christ did you not find the Zonaite armor set? The clothes the Aspect wears are identical to the Zonaite armor you can equip as Link, aside from the headpiece and earrings which can be assumed to be of Zonai origin as they match with the gold on the rest of the outfit. I don't mean to throw any disrespect, I'm just so utterly baffled out here. Maybe I misunderstood part of the video somewhere. Regardless, it's cool that you're making these theories, and if you're enjoying it then by all means keep doing what you love. But this is a little _too_ out there.

    • Thank you for your time to write this out! First of all, thank you for acknowledging the points I made comparing the Zonai to the Aspect. Now, let's talk about burnt skin...because THIS is probably the only place I can say that sentence and it make sense. The actual thought from this came before I had the 3D model at my disposal. A Lot of images of the Aspect have a LOT darker skin, not so much greyish green but more so a blackened green/grey. It could, of course be lighting, but from what I saw, the skin was a lot darker than the lighting I managed to achieve on the 3D model. The ACTUAL take though is not so much the colour of the skin but a lot more so the markings on the shoulder, which feel like a 1:1 copy of the markings on Link after the gloom attacks his arm. The pattern is absolutely identical, and Link does not have these markings prior to Ganondorf's attack. This led me to believe that the pattern was achieved in the same way. The colouring of the tapestry, yes could be stylization due to the age of the tapestry. However, yes, I see your point in terms of the skin on the hero being more red to match the hair colour. It's odd, the imagery I used in the video it looked less red and a LOT more brown, which backed up my idea there. However you could be right here in that the point is NOT proven by the tapestry. Yes, this model IS wearing the Zonaite Armour. However, this armour is not proven to be worn solely by Zonai. After all, Link, a Hylian wears it. This stone armour is not solely exclusive to the Zonai and therefore cannot be used to prove anything. Perhaps I should have glossed over this to dismiss it but I figured it would make sense on it's own merit. The jewellery though is a completely different matter. This Jewellery, the neck piece specifically and the head piece, are passed down at least once in the series as we know it - by Gerudo leadership. Both Riju and Urbosa are shown with these, and Urbosa with the earrings. This to me indicates that this Jewellery is an important thing to the Gerudo for some reason, and the Gerudo leadership are adorned with them when sworn is as a leader. The head piece really interested me though as if you take the blue gem OUT of it, and place it at the bottom of the headpiece, this reflects Riju's one almost perfectly. Almost as if in time, the stone fell out and Gerudo craftsmen couldn't inset it again so they linked it onto the headpiece. I dont think this is entirely too far out there at all. I think it takes adjusting to new ideas and theories, and what I love about these videos is actually the interaction that comes from them and the amount of people coming up with ideas based on what has been said within the video. I love how divisive it is, in terms of some people thinking the aspect must be male, must be Zonai, must be Gerudo.

    • @@heylistengaming You make some fair points, and to be honest I love Zelda lore, and I have a lot of fun just nerding out about games I like, so I'll return with some of my own points. First off, when you're referring to the marks on the aspect, do you mean they mirror the scars on his burnt arm during his first encounter with Ganondorf, or the patterns around his shoulder after his arm has already been replaced? I would argue that the patterns around his shoulder are likely a result of his new arm, or just typical Zonai designs, rather than being a result of Ganondorf's attack, but there's no conclusive evidence towards that. As for the Zonaite armor, my intention wasn't to imply that only a Zonai would wear it- I still don't believe the Aspect to be a Zonai, but I would argue that the gold pieces are just a part of the Zonai aesthetic- and I have some light evidence to prove it. The Zonaite armor, as well as the Charged, Ember, and Frostbite sets all incorporate gold into their designs to some capacity. Going over each Aspect headpiece one by one, let's start with the neck rings, which are easiest to debunk. At first, I thought the rings were the strongest evidence of a connection to the Gerudo, before I noticed the gold piece they're connected to which rests atop the wearer's shoulders. This gold piece sports prominent Zonai symbols, the strange Zonai eye, as well as a few spirals. Besides that, the rings are also present when Link wears the set, a set which is supposed to be of Zonai origin. It wouldn't make that much sense for there to be some random Gerudo neck rings on it. The earrings are, in actuality, likely the strongest evidence toward your point. While they are of a different shape and design of the hoop earrings worn by Urbosa as well as those seen on the Desert Voe armor, they are still hoop earrings. There's much I can say to disprove you here. Then, there's the headpiece, which I'd argue looks completely different than any Gerudo designs we've seen, except for Ganondorf's headpiece. If you look closely, the Aspect's headpiece and Ganondorf's headpiece look very, very close to each other, with similar shapes and patterns that appear on both, just in different arrangements. So, you might claim that there's a connection to the Gerudo there- until you rewatch the cutscene where Ganondorf steals Sonia's secret stone. As it turns out, his headpiece _isn't_ of Gerudo origin, magically appearing around the secret stone as he places it on his forehead. The secret stones are Zonai relics, which implies that both of these headpieces are related to the Zonai, rather than the Gerudo. As a side point, the gem in the Aspect's headpiece is a different shape and color than the gem seen in Riju's. I'm not sure what race the Aspect is, but I don't believe them to be Gerudo, or to have any connection to them. But, I could always be wrong. Regardless, it was fun looking over the different armor sets and going through the memories to find evidence for my point, and again I'm passionate about Zelda and Zelda lore which is why my initial reaction was so intense. That's all I have to say, but if you have any more points or rebuttals or just want to continue this discussion further I'd be glad to. Have a good one.

    • So this is one of those "ambiguous" things, but I think I said it best in another comment. I'll try to shorten it a bit. There is an inference, it is not explicitly stated anywhere, but inferred heavily that a Ganondorf must die before another male can be born. This is inferred by the ages and timescales. Most races, bar shiekah live for 80-100 years. If Link is frozen for 100 years, and is 17 in BOTW, that means he has "lived" long enough for 2 new Gerudo males to be born. Even with the 20 year gap, where there is NO Gerudo male, by the time we get to TOTK there should have been 2 Gerudo males born... HOWEVER, this has not happened. The Gerudo have not allowed males near their colony until Link sneaks in, and this has been for some time as they are petrified of males. A male being born would have created a MASSIVE shift in dynamic in the Gerudo lands. In fact, the ONLY male Gerudo in the entirety of both games is Ganondorf. So unless it is the case that his being alive stops another being born, then where are the other 2 Gerudo males? One would likely be dead by TOTK but the 2nd would be adolescent at oldest. There is no sign of him at all, no inference of him, no mention of him. There is nothing. We can therefore say that if there is no Gerudo male other than G-man now, then we can go back through history and infer the same. We could safely say there's no Gerudo males 10,000 years ago+. The Gerudo females have grown scared of males BECAUSE the 1 that got born 10's of thousands of years ago turned out to be incredibly evil, and after that, no others were born.

    • If people are gonna make stuff up, like assume there ISN'T a male gerudo for 20 000 years, because with zero evidence they PRESUME Demise is what causes one to be born, there's a much better explanation. Why would they ever ARRIVE to such a BS number as 100 years, if it's constantly disproven in a human lifetime? Gerudo just don't display somatic male traits except for an incidental fluke, and the "genders" refer to what they have refered to most of human history: societal standing. Yes, by and large you get to become man or woman depending on your physical trait of male or female, BUT IF IT WAS AMBIGUOUS like in many animal species, obviously it can only go one of two ways: either hunters and home-makers are separate, or there is effectively a single gender in the species. Nintendo HEAVILY lampshades their interest in these concepts by having Gorons in there too, and many, many references to animal pair-bonding. This would also explain why pair-bonding outside the Gerudo race is so formalized, since 50% of the race simply can't bear children to begin with, and it becomes somewhat sacred in the culture already inspired by 1001 Nights, out of a land that had eunuchs and Janissaries like famously the younger brother of Vlad Tepes. Myopia over what is presented to THE PLAYER and cherrypicking lines to take as absolute evidence, doesn't explain anything. Literally, in scientific terms it has no explanatory value, it's just cargo cultism, INCLUDING anthropoligal science where these legends are just made up by the authors at nintendo let alone created as part of this fictional world. Paired with the fact people spew BS like Zora "evolution" in a handful of millennia, it really gets on the level of like believing fossils WERE just put there by God, but you're atheist because God is a mean troll. It just bad form to think with such oxygen-deprivation AT ALL, in your own life. And sure, overtly sceintific explnation ina magical world may still not be accurate, but it's a step to a more plausible direction, we jsut ahve to DETERMINE which parts are magical. Not jsut scrutinize some throwaway lines with delusional conviction. I would say there is accelerated evolution based on things like Jabu Jabus's and Valoo's scales, but whose then to say ANY species is normally anything but human-like? Well, I think Zonai already used a MAgic Mirror like device to go between Light adn Dark world with impure hearts.

If Ganondorf has to die for there to be another Gerudo; then he would just reincarnate. Then, Ganondorf would be back. If that were the case; the Gerudo would just seal away every Gerudo male to prevent Ganondorf from growing up. Which would make Ganondorf's reincarnating as the only Gerudo seem pretty self defeating. I think it's more likely that when a male Gerudo is born it is kept secret than exiled outside of the Kingdom (most likely with his mother). We know that there are other Zora Kingdoms due to Sidon's wife. So, there could be another Gerudo Town where the male might be allowed to live. Or just away from the Kingdom.

  • I have not seen it stated, or even so much as hinted, anywhere that there can only be one Gerudo male at a time. One male is born once every hundred years. By Gerudo law, this lone male is destined to become king of the Gerudo and Guardian of the Desert. This law was changed after the king who became the Calamity, and there has not been another male leader since. There is one character in Breath of the Wild who disagrees with your idea that there can only be one male at a time. No, it is not Vilia, even if there is a small possibility that he is part Gerudo. This person does in fact happen to be a Gerudo. Her name is Rhondson. You meet Rhondson at the Kara Kara Bazaar, and ultimately you recruit her as part of the Tarrey Town sidequest. She is looking for a husband. In her conversation with you she mentions that it is rare for a male to be born to the Gerudo. Notice that she says "is", not "was". If it hadn't happened in 10,000 years, I think she would have said that males are no longer born. I should also mention that one of the text options of this conversation (I did this before activating her part of the sidequest, but I don't think that matters) is that Link can say, "No male Gerudo." (His other option is "Why the rush?") Both of her responses have similar wording, and she uses "it's" (it is) in both of them. I agree that there should have been at least one male Gerudo running about at some point during this particular Link's lifetime. However, just because we never saw him onscreen doesn't mean he never existed. Many lives were lost to the Calamity, and affected by if not also lost to the Upheaval. It is possible that he died because of one of these events. I'm not ruling out old age since we don't know the average Gerudo lifespan (likely similar to Hylians), but we also do not know where we are at in the hundred year cycle. One could have been born, become an adult, and died during Link's 100 year sleep, meaning that the next one has yet to be born. Some might mention the ears of the Gerudo. They are now pointed, like a Hylian's. While round in the most recent title, Ganondorf's ears have also been pointed in previous titles. This is perhaps merely a design choice on Nintendo's part since there are elements of every prior design to this version of Ganondorf. In short, I don't think that the Ancient Hero is a Gerudo Vai. Assuming that the Ancient Hero and the "Eighth Heroine" of Gerudo legend are the same person (which is another debate entirely), then it is definitely not the case because that sidequest (worth doing by the way) reveals that the eighth heroine was specifically a male.

It is intimated, not said outright that there can only be one gerudo male at a time, but I am happy to be proven wrong. The issue here is that there is no proof either way and can be conjected either way. Yes though, one malle is born every 100 years, and does not necessarily become king anymore, and yes the rules were changed by the seems of things after the first calamity. This is interesting about Rhondson, I would not propose that Vilia is Gerudo at all, but is Hylian. Rhondson though, stating it "is rare" is an interesting turn of phrase. I still dont think this changes a massive amount about my theory though, based on the fact that the Aspect is CLEARLY wearing Gerudo Jewellery which is passed down by the seems of things to the next female leader. Take a look at the shoes (clear gladiator sandles with a heel, very feminine), the multistage choker, the ear rings. These are all passed down, bar the ear rings, from Urbosa to Riju and arguably happened before that in time as well. I am not convinced that the 8th heroine and the Ancient hero are the same person, if I am honest. I'm not convinced of whom they are though and I want to do a bit more digging into it before getting really pulled into that argument.

    • This one is pretty simple. Ganondorf in WW wasn't actually KILLED. He was stabbed in the head, sure, but he's survived worse, and he's actually turned to stone in the end of the game while the world then drowns. In theory, he can't get out of this situation, and doesn't, but the turning into stone in effect petrifies him, thus stopping the reincarnation. In each timeline, a way is devised to stop the reincarnation - turned to stone, neck snapped and soul drained, or just flat out destroyed. I think he can't reincarnate because he isn't utterly destroyed. Which would mean that in theory, if the timelines have all merged into one, then the only Ganondorf's bloodline that TOTK's Ganondorf can actually come from is the one that is destroyed and not sealed or petrified...so...the downfall timeline...is...the right one?!

Demise, over time, degraded inside of the sword yet Fi remained latent. A "Hero" is able to wield the sword. The Hero is always said to be an incarnation of Link, but there's actually a chance here that the ancient hero proves that idea incorrect, and that the hero is ANYONE who is chosen by the Triforce of Courage. Demise's curse didn't say there will always be a Link, but always be a Hero. The Master sword didn't come FROM the ancient hero, more that she held the sword as a part of her heroic duty.

The Zonia were already long extinct by the time the Calamity from ten thousand years before BoTW. Zelda was transported to a time much further back then ten thousand years. It should also be noted that Nintendo has specifically stated that the Zonia founded the "New Hyrule" meaning the Zonia founded or refounded Hyrule after the events of all previous games. It is also implied that there have been multiple Calamity's with the most recent one from BoTW being exceptionally bad so much so that even Hyrule Castle was occupied temporarily.

There is zero way this is Hyrule #1, but this has born a theory that this game sits between SS and MC. I do not believe in that at all, I think it only works if its in it's own isolated bubble at the end of the timeline. - Yes there's been multiple calamities which is why I refer to the VERY ORIGINAL hero, this Ancient Hero being 10k years previous but the Zonai going as far back as 30k years.

    @nickynegron3515@nickynegron35157 ай бұрын
    • I think the 8th is someone completely different. The quest does reveal them to be male. The character model doesnt help us clear up the fluidity of this characters gender, but it DOES help us be not so sure that the character is certainly male. The 8th does not need to be the ancient hero. As far as we are aware there are at least 2 calamities prior to the one that starts in BOTW.

    • @@heylistengaming: Except that is one interpretation. The actual quote is that there has never been a male Gerudo leader since Ganondorf. That does not insinuate that there were no males, just no leaders that were male. This is especially proven to be the case when considering Vilia in BotW is confirmed to be male by Creating a Champion and implied in the game itself.

      @fishnewt1331@fishnewt13318 ай бұрын
    • @itzriotplayz2377 I would presume that yes, there would be a new gerudo male now, because it looked like his death was pretty final in TOTK. Not unless they manage to retcon the ending.

      @heylistengaming@heylistengaming8 ай бұрын
    • @fishnewt1331 It could be that there's no leaders, however the sheer probability says otherwise. The reason I say this is as follows: Let's go on Gorons and their life expectancy of 80-100 years, based on none of them remembering the calamity 100 years previous in BOTW. I would actually say we could use this as a general base of ages for *most* races in BOTW/TOTK, with an exception being the Shiekah who have always been known for magic, and of course Zelda who has ties to the Shiekah in some respect, would likely have a very similar life expectancy. So lets go with 80 years. If a Gerudo male is born every 100 years and the average life span is 80 years, then there is 20 years in time where there is no Gerudo male, right? Just 20 years in each 100 years. Link in BOTW is (And I DO NOT count the time skip with his age because if you are cyrogenically frozen you do NOT age), 17. Presuming there's a 6-7 year gap between BOTW and TOTK, this means he's 22. This means a Gerudo male WILL have been born during his life time. Also, lets take into account the Cyro sleep. That means there's been 2 opportunities for Link to run into a Gerudo male who is NOT Ganondorf. The odds of this seem pretty low, that Link would a) be born, train until the age of 17, and be born inside of that window that there is no Gerudo male born, and then wake up from Cyro sleep into another time window where there's no Gerudo male. I wouldn't want to work out the probability but it would have to be low for that to happen in not just one but two "Ganon" cycles, unless there was never one born due to one being under ground, alive but sealed.

And that the reason there isn’t a Zelda during the “founding” of Hyrule is because the incarnation of Zelda at the point in time is still living in the land of the Spirit Tracks. Perhaps a little after Zelda turned herself into a dragon members of the original royal family travel back and remarry into the TotK royal family, bringing back the connection to her incarnations.

And because he has green skin, you think he was burnt head to toe, even though Link's burns are black n red until Rauru heals them? It's also very possible, and more likely, that a Gerudo female had a child with, I dunno, a lion or some shit, n THAT offspring was a male. There is no rule stating interracial couples can't bore a male child, only that only that "1 male is born TO THE GERUDO every 100 years".

    @r3gret2079@r3gret20798 ай бұрын
    • Well it is a theory, right? I mean, I do have proof that its not Ganondorf, or a Zonai, which is EXACTLY what I set out with? But anything to do with Zelda, when we're looking this deep in, is 100% theory work. The skin is kind of weird. It's not really green. Its not really blue. Its kind of blackened. The lighting on the 3D model shows it off a lot more blue than it should do. The markings on his shoulder are remarkably similar to Link's markings on his shoulder and arm. Shape, thickness, size. They're pretty much the same. Whatever happened to make those marks on the ancient hero ALSO happened to Link, ergo, the theory of him being burned. Yeah, we actually know that Gerudo have had children with outside races. Rhondson is the best example here. The children of Gerudo Vai ALWAYS follow the mother though, the genes are that dominant, and again, the children, weirdly, are ALWAYS female. It's part of the "gerudo curse" or something to that effect.

The animalistic design of the Zonai, the incredible links with magic and the link to the sages more so from OoT than the minish and their heights, that with them being take than zelda are good enough reasons for me to not see it.

We know the first calamity happened way after that so your theory requires an explanation of 2 things: why did was one member of a human species born with pre human features, and why would that body be the vessel for the spirit of the hero. As far as the ancient hero clearly not being human, you also have to consider it’s link dawning the aspect of the hero. The markings in the Zonai are merely the zonai arm showing through the aspect like it does in every other armor set. This also means we don’t need to see the hero’s aspect as a 1:1 for what the ancient hero looked like because it’s still Just a costume. It could very well be intended as a Zonai but we are seeing it as half link. It could be a mogma, which is actually a bit of a closer match if we allow for fur and hair color. Personally I think the hero’s aspect is dumb. There is no logical in universe explanation for his appearance, and like so many things in this game it was just some throw away garbage that the writers didn’t fully actualize.
