They don't always. At higher speeds than designed for the springs can be slow to expand, allowing the keepers to float out. Heavier springs are sometimes necessary in high performance engines.

Верхняя чашка вверх ногами. И когда надеваешь сальник на клапан, надо прикрывать хвостовик клапана, чтобы кромки проточек не повреждали сальник.

@@user-ui9si6ml1r мне кажется тот кто двигатель только видел вообще не думают? я пару головок перебрал в жизни вазовских там да проточки 3 и они острые и то никаких колпачков и приспособ не использовал и проблем нет масло не кушают, а здесь опасности повредить сальник нет тем более по маслу

I know that it appears wrong, but that's just the shape of these particular spring caps. If you were to flip those over there would be a seating area for the spring land face. When he releases the spring compressor the valve locks don't bind at all. If that cap was reversed, the cap wouldn't mate correctly with the valve stem locks.

You obviously have not built heads before. The taper in the center of that retainer would not lock the keepers if it was upside down. Many diesel and older heads have retainers that look like that.

@@thomasjensen5237 to me it doesn't look right as an automotive tech. A retainer would need to be turned so it locates the spring in relation to the valve. If this is how some heads are, that's a poor design cause what holds it from shifting to the side and putting stress on the valve tip where the keepers go and the guides would prematurely wear due to side loading.

Now try doing it on a Fiat/GM 16 valve 1.3 diesel. The valve heads are 20mm diameter. The spindles are just 5mm and they are set well into the cylinder head.

You see how you don't know. The semmering is threaded onto the valve via a plastic tube that is threaded onto the valve. Only then is the semmering pulled on. On the fuse channel, the edges can be sharp and cut the fine edge of the seaming.

I worked at a Subaru dealer, used cars only, always salvage title, and the owner NEVER invested in tools for the shop. No air, no lifts, not even torches, which, IMO, are the most important tools in any garage (I'min NY. This was so much harder thn it should havr been, but I couldn't afford to buy tools every week cause this guy was cheap. NOT EVEN A WORKING TOULET!!!

It's just valve seals and springs being installed, cool tool I used air to keep valves up and my pops made an angled tool with holes that let the springs be compressed, worked amazingly well.

I remember installing those type seals. Destroyed with first start. I was 18. Didn't read the part that said head must be machined to fit. Wasted $. I "did" let the parts store know. I learned to question before buying a lot of parts after that.

You see how you don't know. The semmering is threaded onto the valve via a plastic tube that is threaded onto the valve. Only then is the semmering pulled on. On the fuse channel, the edges can be sharp and cut the fine edge of the seaming.

So, did you measure proper spring load, height, and load? If you just assemble the valve train with no critical measurement, then it could damage your whole motor.

The valve keeper is supposed to be flat with the up end of the valve cap, you can see in the video very clearly why it didn't so.

No air, no lifts, not even torches, which, IMO, are the most important tools in any garage (I'min NY. This was so much harder thn it should havr been, but I couldn't afford to buy tools every week cause this guy was cheap. NOT EVEN A WORKING TOULET!!!

It's just valve seals and springs being installed, cool tool I used air to keep valves up and my pops made an angled tool with holes that let the springs be compressed, worked amazingly well.

I have seen guys using sure shots or spray bottles to get everything in one go but the drip drip method works, too.
I always just slathered tf outta everything, granted i mainly rebuilt two strokes so they loved the extra oil for the first start. Smokey as hell for about a minute or two until the premix flushed em out.
