William Nylander provided an update on his status for Game 4 and how tough it has been to sit on the sidelines through the first three games of the series. Sheldon Keefe and Ilya Samsonov discussed how Nylander looked at practice and the instant boost he would provide if healthy on Saturday.

I heard a rumor that my lander was upset that they were trying to pad Matthew’s star for 70 instead of preparing for playoffs. I didn’t believe it but after todays comments it seems plausible at least
Feel so sorry for the guy. He's had an amazing season, for sure he'd wanna be back, but if it's a head injury I'd rather keep him out. Leafs had the Bruins' number without him, not worth risking anything. Even if they face elimination you don't rush someone in who's just had a head injury. Btw poor coaching decision to even dress their key guys in meaningless games 81 and 82. Willy got rocked vs Florida, finished the game and played another one vs Tampa. We have the result now and their PP vs Boston looks atrocious.
Big leafs fan here but we have absolutely not had their number. Close games 100% but the leafs are out coached and out performed significantly in goaltending and defence.
@@nolans1675 they had any chance to win and dominated them physically imo. If they can't score more than 2 goals then goaltending is not the problem. Didn't think swayman had to be spectacular. Nevertheless Leafs were good enough to win gm3 that's why I wouldn't rush Willy back in.
Edit: That said, they miss him big time. You can see now, what they are without him. It's night and day. But head injuries are so serious. No advantage in the world would justify rushing him back.
@@asharpbflat7179 Its two losses away from pitch forks in Toronto and you "wouldn't rush" him back in. It wouldn't even be an option if it was a serious, career-altering head injury. If they don't perform individually and as a team this series - Keefe is gone, Shannahan is gone, Marner is likely gone and much of the depth. The whole team is gutted, and we start again for the 57th year. This laissez faire approach to playoff hockey is why TML hasn't done shit since the pre-expansion NHL.
@@christian_cantarutti all true, but these people are gone anyway, if you throw in someone with life altering head injury just to save those bums you're delusional. Health goes first anyway, who do you think you are? If we go down 3:2 in the final series and Willy feels ok and WANTS to play that's probably the only scenario you say "ok" and put him at risk. But since neither bruins nor leafs are gonna win a cup this year (have you watched the other series?) emergency-Willy is not a thing.

Playoffs is about adversity and fighting through pain. These talented players even fighting through pain are still better on the ice than not playing at all. Migraines are no joke, having them all my life. It sucks. I remember times when I got an aura migraine during a hockey game. Try to explain that to your coach. Surprisingly he did understand it right away. Great guy.

Ok, here's my theory. I believe he did some hard drugs and hence why he felt 'discomfort', probably partied too hard after the regular season concluded. Why else would the organization be so tight lipped about the reasons for him missing 3 playoff games? They're keeping it close to their chest for a reason. 'Sources' and media suggesting his migraines is curious, considering it has always been there, not magically at the start of the playoffs. Remember, he played all 82 games and you're telling us his debilitating migraines only now saw him needing to miss not 1 but 3 games in the post-season? I'm not buying it. Willy got reckless, did something stupid like drugs, and was unfit to play until he got his head straight, probably an extra game for good measure. Yeah... I bet it was personal, Willy! Enjoying that huge contract extension a bit too much. Just look at him almost laughing during this interview.
