  • Once a P-47 hit the 3rd shop in Europe {for updating} most of the time the pit would be repainted black. But from the Republic factory the semi dark green. The other darker green were the "G" versions built by Curtiss. Those versions though, never left the U.S. Great job on all the wiring and tubing extras. Wiring the R-2800 can be a pain, especially since each cylinder has two spark plugs. The only real mistake made by Tamiya, the seat does not rest against the armor plate, because the harness goes over the upper bar of the seat frame, not beneath it. The silver isn't camo, that's bare metal from the factory, the green on the fuse line is painted for anti-glare. Yes, the Tamiya decals are way too thick. "Kokomo" belonged to Maj. Gen. Kepner, so it didn't get used as much as the rest of the group, and it was kept very clean. Beautiful build, very light on the weathering - excellent! Congrats, one very nice P-47!

  • Super fun & informative viewing, and a great end result! I'm curious if you have a tutorial video of sorts (or know of another creator's vid you'd recommend) on dealing with landing gear. The proper ordering of painting and assembly of landing gear, wheel wells, panels, etc. is a consistent point of uncertainty to me as somebody new to the hobby.

  • I have a question. I sealed my planes with at least 3 coats of flat dull coat and give 4days drying time. Then I apply the wash for the panel lines and when I go to remove it, the paint starts coming off. Am I Forgetting a step, what am I doing wrong?

    @edmundrosario1845@edmundrosario18452 жыл бұрын
    • What kind a chemical do you use for the wash removing? I guess the remover is too agressive for the flat coat and paint. I allways stay with one type of colours and chemicals. Mostly acrylics.

      @modelsforfun@modelsforfun2 жыл бұрын
    • I paint with acrylic and seal with enamel. The panel lines I do with the Tamaiya panel line liquid
