This channel aims to give information about the French Foreign Legion. The author - Thomas Gast - knows what he's talking about. He spent seventeen years in the French Foreign Legion. He voluntary talks about his life and his adventures in the FFL and he gives young applicants accurate advices.

@@djsauce4498 unfortunately I failed the medical. Found out I was diagnosed with a benign tumor in my pituitary gland. So those changes are over.lol Glad I at least had my younger years for military service in my home country at least. I went in July this last summer. I recommend that time. Things were moving pretty quickly. The numbers were lower during this time still during the pandemic. If you choose to go, best of luck to you
@@Social-Hacking damn well atleast you had the balls to even go and attempt to join. That within itself takes alot so salute to you, and I thought long and hard about joining after i goy discharged from the Navy in 2014 but i never ended up going. I got a wife and kids now it’s just a fantasy of mine lol
@@djsauce4498 thank you brother appreciate it. Hold your family close. One of the reason I decided to go was because I went through a divorce. Glad I at least tried though. I am glad I can look back on that memory. If they didn't catch the injury I have I could of been bad I guess if I was in. If I got a concussion from my head injury and didn't wake up that wouldn't be how I would want to go out.lol so i am happy with how life is going. Just went back to being a programmer where life is safe.lol

So admire you...i wish i was younger, I would have loved to have joined, Legion has teh espirit de corps that most militaries used to have but have lost to politics over time.

I plan on joining in about 1 year and a half or 2 years, looking at the 2nd Foreign Engineer Regiment or Music of the Foreign Legion. Would be be happy with either, but both would be better.
Hi, i have just found your channel and found it extremaly useful and interesting. have a huge respect for you. i have a question about joining the FFL. what if you’re vegetarian/vegan for whatever reason? can your diet exclude you from joining the French Foreign Legion? What about Corona? It’s a decent cheap beer, light hops, somewhat watery but not the worst! Legionaires can chug a keg of the stuff

@Al Ka Exactly my friend. French government is making a strong control of vaccine. And if I'm military I must abide the rules of the army and it's not an option there. I'm also seriously considering to join. I had to earn some money to go before , but after the ch1nese virus everything has changed. I was expecting that Zemmour would win elections , but unfourtunately Macron was reelected.
I don't think I can join and take a vaccine. The placebo effect could kill me from taking a vac

I'm currently 38 years and 2 months old and serving in the Provost Guard Service of the British Army. Having served 14 years already. I am a fitness fanatic performing 25+ pull ups continually and a 3 minute km run time. I can't get the idea of joining the Legion out of my head, I dream about. The question is do I go for it? No regrets.
I'm sure you would like an answer from Thomas but the thing is that only you can answer that question. Dig deep into why you can't get joining the Legion out of your head and find the exact reason why you want to join. I'm sure the Legion would like someone with your experience and you would be able to lead the young guys from day one. If you need the adventure (not want but need) then I would say go for it and join.

@@steffon4984 I've already attempt joining back on new years day 2020, but lasted 24 hrs, passed the fitness, but messed up the physcometric test.
@@leecountffl9826 I've heard if you talk about self betterment and future experience they will be more hesitant to accept you. They are looking for lost causes who dont care..

Guys ı will join the elite in june 20. İ can easily do 12,13 pull ups and 7 level in Luc leger (21meter) . İm 21 years old and have no criminal record , any disability , any fear or allergic. Now ı have 2 question first of all is Luc leger test 20meters in legion and do you guys have any advice or something about anything like tests , interwievs or preperation ? Thanks from now

I really appreciate all the information you give out I have a question should I drop 20 lbs I currently weigh 240 lbs I’m 5 ft 11 in I’m 20 years of age? I can bench 275 for 2 reps squat 319 for 5 reps I can run a 2 mile in under 15 min.
Pull ups, press ups, sit ups, get the basics right first. How many pull ups can you do.

Sir, if a legionnaire applies for citizenship after 3 years, what happens? What would be the difference in applying after 3 years or after 6 years? Because you said they will not give it until 6 or 7 years? Thank you!
Jonathan, I have been there. The reality is that in most cases after 5 years you will get only permanent residency. like a US greencard. My friend was transferred back to Aubagne, headquarters and got his citizenship after 5 and half years, because he was able to watch his papers. Other than that in reality is is usually 8 years of service in order to get you French passport. Bon Chance, mon ami.

@@samuelviney9996Guys Just bear in mind , if you don’t want to take the vaccination France is struck about it , even if you are in some point of the time as you see this will be mandatory again so you can probably join at the moment with some sort of paper who is valid but while your training and been accepted is around half a year , later on if the government put it again on the first line you cannot move , so if you are like me don’t want this things in your body .. you cannot escape government control Legion as well this is the sad true . Good luck
