  • Hey guys, I'm aware that the music is a half step flat. For whatever reason, when we encoded it in the editor, it always comes out a half step flat. If anyone has an idea how to fix this, I'm all ears. The notes that I'm calling out during the reaction are the correct ones though. Best, Matt Ramsey, Voice Teacher

    • Sometimes it seems to be pitchy. Maybe the key is going up and down. I thought of closing the video, but I could handle this.

    • I've noticed a small number of other reactors having this issue and a few who did it on purpose thinking they could evade copyright. Sadly I have no idea what the fix was but all ones (except the ones doing it intentionally) did eventually fix it. Maybe check your playback speed as it seems like the video is running ever so slightly slower than normal.

  • Dimash himself said he was a tenor. He also doesn't want people to focus on range alone. He uses his full range to add layers textures and emotions to the song. They are just the tools to tell the story. I think this is where his brilliance lies -- not merely how low or high he can reach but how he uses all his talents and techniques to serve his music. He is an artist more than a technician. P.S. voice type only matters in opera production. Dimash is not an opera singer so he can sing whatever the hell he wants in whichever range he deems appropriate for his music.

You hit the nail right on the head when you define him as a master. You'll find his basement is even lower and his d8 in "Unforgettable Day" is unparalleled. ❤️DQ!

  • Does matter what note, no matter, if he is high or low, no matter what analyze, if it he is bad or not, if he reach or not. Thousands of people every day ask for an answer that conclude like math without error a final true . In the last 4 years i follow him, in concerts live and so one. Every day i listen to him. and i have no answer for him. I watch people here that can fully reproduce wonderful some notes of his songs, But no one can reproduce the true colors of his voice. That is the impossible, that made so many people react to Dimash. Dimash may not be pleased for many in this style. But no one can have the passion, the colors of his voice, no one, and no also to can reach out the top of a piano scale and more ,that Dimash, without a scratch, just in one breath, one soul, love and passion have the skills and natural talent to put every word in his perfect place. It does not matter if it is in Russian, in Kazac, in French, in Inglish, in Italian, in , in, in .... and you know that is not easy, the time of the word, the sound of the word requires another position totaly different from one to another. I flight often to see him live, and as time goes by he is better than ever. Dimash just incites a flight when is free and his freedom is sing. His voice always remind me a eagle in the sky, or an angel.....the proud of a mother land, of his education and honor and about everything his family love and education. Thank you in the name of The Dimash Kudaibergen Fan Club and all his world dears. Thank you very much for your good reaction and analyze. Kisses from Portugal.

In 2016, Aiman Mussakhajayeva, the rector of Dimash's university (the Kazakh National University of Arts) gave an interview to a Kazakh newspaper. The interviewer asked him about Dimash's voice type and he said he was registered as dramatic tenor

  • Masterpiece!!!!...written by this Russian composer (at the piano), Igor Krutoy, for Dimash because he needed someone to write songs for his range of 6+ octavos. This is one of many he had composed for Dimash and all are great. Check out 'Olympico' (Ogni Petra) , 'Passionion', 'Love of Tired Swans', 'Mademoiselle Hyde'.. The thing about Dimash is you have to SEE him sing. His stage presence and story telling are a lot of the uniqueness of his persona. He loves his fans and is so humbled by their support. He says we make his dreams come true. Someone asked him in an interview once if he hadn't pursued music as a career what would he do for a living. He said he nothing else ever crossed his mind. He said if you cut open his brain you could see music and if you cut open his heart you would see music. I believe if you cut his finger he would bleed musical notes!!! I love Him and his music. He sings in 12 languages, speaks 4 and plays 7 musical instruments. OK...English.. I actually have 4 of his CD's mostly they are in Chinese, but enough English that I love them all. Check out "All by myself" , "Adagio" on the singer show 2017, DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM ON THE WORLDS BEST. Those stupid people chopped up his performances so bad he should have sued them. He sang with the Super Vocal boys on The Singer 2019 and did a Queen medley in English that was very good. That's if you want to hear him sing in English. He has a video out with his song "Screaming" that is wonderful. I could go on and on. I've been listening to Dimash for 1 1/2 years now. I am 63 and have 4 children and 9 grandchildren and a great love for music. These are my grandchildren in the pic. I like your reactions. I subscribed.

  • I've looked at the reactions to Dimash, and I really like them, well done, thanks! What is more to me in Dimash than a huge voice (which everyone emphasises,,, of course rightly,,) is the way to perform, I consider him a very suggestive performer. It is a great musical intelligence that, in addition to musical and sound control (which is no longer a small task in itself), he places great emphasis on the story and performance of the song. It's typical of almost every song you perform, but it's especially on the act of Autumn Strong and Daybreak (Bastau). He also plays several instruments and composers. He wrote unforgettable day in 2015. I'd like to hear about your reaction to these songs. Thank you for reading it.

  • I agree with you that Dimash is essentially a tenor, but he can definitely do dramatic tenor -- see "Olympico.". I disagree that he sang in whistle register here - - He consistently stays in head/flageolet through E6. In other songs, he throws in whistle 'grace' notes on occasion in the seventh and eighth octaves.

    @gr8music535@gr8music5354 жыл бұрын
    • Good post (maybe because I agree with all of your points). Dimash himself has said he is a tenor, and I haven't heard any credible debate about that point. Yes, he definitely does dramatic tenor, as well as dark baritone with full, rich notes (not in fry). Olimpico is the best example for any vocal coach who may have doubts about either of those points. I also find his dramatic tenor equally as natural and pleasing as his lyric tenor, and his dramatic baritone is fantastic and fully developed. I also agree with you that we absolutely did not hear Dimash's whistle register in this song, and he doesn't use whistle register outside of the 7th and 8th octaves.

  • Nice reaction! With all due respect, Coach, that Eb6 was hit in head voice. It wasn’t his whistle register, his whistle starts a few tones above that. I’m a musician and I have decent musical ears, but this might not mean anything to you so I must refer to the other respected vocal coaches who reacted to this song. Like Ken Tamplin, Tara Simon etc. they noted that he didn’t sing in whistle register but that it was a clear note sung in his head voice.

    @megalelouch1836@megalelouch18364 жыл бұрын
    • For most male they will definitely hit whistle register at that note. Most guys must use falsetto in the 5th octave, some as early as the 4th. Dimash however is an anomaly when it comes to male vocal chords. He has an upper extension that rivals that of a female. He's such a rare breed that most vocal coaches will never encounter such a person among their students. For this coach I guess he simply assumes that Dimash produces sounds like a typical male. Back when he reviewed SOS he made the same assumption about his higher notes.

      @kitty4536@kitty45364 жыл бұрын
    • Kitty You’re correct! However, as a vocal coach, it’s a common skill to be able to discern the different vocal registers correctly and I expected that from him. Clearly he doesn’t know Dimash’s full range yet as he has been incorrectly presuming a couple of things about it in his reactions so far.

      @megalelouch1836@megalelouch18364 жыл бұрын
    • Dimash goes up til F6 in full head voice with good cord closure. I first thought he wasn't sure if an E6 or sth like that in a previous video was head voice or whistle bc he thinned it out on the way up (which is kind of logical though), but it was connected. However, the Eb6 in this video wasn't even thin. I'm also surprised that he mixes up registers. He seems to be quite a good vocal coach, but he seems to sometimes mix up such things

    • @@megalelouch1836 I agree about the whistle voice thing, but please don't say Ken Tamplin is a respected voice teacher. You have no idea how much he manipulates the community and how despised he really is among other teachers.

  • Although Dimash himself said he was a tenorino (light tenor), he is also so much more than this. I am a bass baritone and I was very surprised to hear him sing Ogni Pietra with full low notes (first part of the song) that sounded in depth and color like the ones I sing. And I am very doubtful that a "true" tenor can actually achieve this. We have to admit that Dimash has a lower extension that sounds natural and that sets him apart from the "other" tenors. As for the highest note he sang in Love is Like a Dream, it is not a whistle. Check out Drunken Concubine and you'll hear for yourself what Dimash sounds like when he sings in the whistle register. Other than that, your reaction was really interesting. Keep up the good work :)
