  • These three divisions did NOT lead "the vast majority of German offensives from the beginning of the war". They played NO indispensable role in any German conquests. They were mixed in with more numerous German Army motorized divisions, with which they were interchangeable and to which they were inferior in 1939 in Poland. The conquests all relied primarily on German Army panzer divisions, of which there were none in the Waffen-SS at the time they took place. Why do people put up such falsehoods?

    • Most of us with a brain and education know quite well that the NSDAP is not a racist organization, it’s a political organization first and foremost and it is fair to note the Jews weren’t favored, but steps were taken humane steps, to rid them out of Germany and what others also don’t know or wanna believe is that the countries that turned their back when asked to take them were Britain, Canada, Australia. America and Morocco, they sent ships loaded with Jews back to Germany, hence the concentration camps

    • If you compare how many Germans vs Soviets died on the east, the Germans were smashing the Soviets. If the allies didn’t open a front on the West, the Germans could’ve sent more reinforcements purely focused on halting the Soviets counter-offences. The Germans were 200 kms outside of Moscow. What saved Russia was the Russian Winter and a second front opening up. History would’ve been a lot different if a second front never opened up.

      @NotaGabeItch@NotaGabeItch2 ай бұрын
    • @GloryHole6000 It is just my opinion; but I believe the most significant factor that saved the Soviets moreso than anything else was the mass amount of material, fuel, food, and munitions sent by the USA under Lend Lease to the USSR all the way through the siege of Berlin. It was American Jeeps running on American gasoline carrying the Red Army to the Brandenburg Gates, and thereafter it was American ammunition being fired, American rations being eaten, and American boots being marched in that truly helped the Communists finally defeat the Reich.

There are number of documentaries about this and when people are arguing about mistakes Hitler made they usually bring Dunkirk evacuation as well. Most common belief was that he wanted to sign peace with Britain and that slaughtering their soldiers on beach wouldn't help his cause.

Towards Europe , and in this elite group were 3 Slavic ARYAN tribes. Characteristics looks like the Scandinavian. It's the Poles, the Czech and the real European Russian. Around the year 966AD those 3 nations became Christian. And the ultimate border between Germanic and Slavic is the ODER RIVER. And Gdansk was built by the first Aryan Poles. Prussia should never exist !

      @Mingus8@Mingus82 ай бұрын
    • @@Mingus8the hell they didn't, they got their asses kicked just as much as anyone else by the end of the war. By 1944 you could put any of the best SS divisions against the 101st or 82nd airborne, 3rd armored, or any number of British and Russian divisions and the Germans would have no discernable quality advantage. And arguing that they were one for one better than anyone is incredibly disingenuous since war's not about even odds, it's about overmatch. Germany failed to achieve that regularly because they opened wars on all fronts.

      @camrynsteward8425@camrynsteward84252 ай бұрын
    • @@camrynsteward8425 You are mixing up time periods. In 1944, the war was already lost for them, due to the Soviets' superior numbers, willingness to sacrifice lives and logistical problems in a vast country. The German army that the USA faced in WW2 was a small shambles, short on manpower, training and above all fuel. Still, no one could take them without bringing more manpower, more tanks. Any us military had probably been wiped out by Germany until about mid 1943. They were simply too good in war fighting, had superior weapons. Germany brought war tactics and technology to a new level in ww2, the modern war and which all countries, especially USA adopted afterwards. There is plenty of literature that tells about this. But, you are of course right that Germany also had hubris, underestimated the Soviet Union and bit off more than they could handle, obiously.

      @Mingus8@Mingus82 ай бұрын
    • @mingus8 I'm not mixing up shit, you said that they never lost when facing even odds. 1944 was part of the war, so if we're just not gonna count that then what are we even talking about? You make it sound like Germany invented and perfected modern warfare, this is not true. Blitzkrieg was effective, sure, but the Nazis were horrendous at logistics, a key aspect of strategy. Tactically they were generally fine, but to argue that the average Nazi soldier was superior to everyone else that he may have faced needs backup. There was never any discernable physical or mental difference between the average Nazi foot soldier and the Brits or Americans or Russians. As far as unit cohesion, the Nazis indoctrinated more than their opponents, sure, but I wouldn't call that good. Indoctrination feeds failure to innovate. On the tech side, Germany attempted to make far too many different types of tanks, while the US and Russia generally preferred to mass produce one type (the M4 and T34). While this means many German tanks outmatched individual tanks, both the US and Russia were able to outproduce and out sustain the Nazis. That was their choice, not a decision forced on them, and it was strategically wrong. Hell, they didn't even have an advantage in individual weapons. The MG42 was great, but the US had a better service rifle, the Russians had a better SMG. So no, I don't think I'm mixing up time periods or bending the narrative. Germany had a good military (and I absolutely do not mean morally good, it was a morally reprehensible organization), but absolutely not an unbeatable one.

      @camrynsteward8425@camrynsteward84252 ай бұрын
    • @@camrynsteward8425 I never said they were unbeatable. Only that they never lost a battle where they were equal in numbers, and the only way to get them was to bring more people. This also applies in 1944. And yes, they invented the modern warfare as we know it today, with combined arms and fluid battle tactics (Blitz krieg). Americans and English fought heroically and no one should forget their efforts, but they still had to outnumber the Germans, to beat them, even in 1944.
