  • I am the designer/builder of this house... and I would like to give due credit to Bill Hillman of Mansion Glass, Olympia, WA. He built the two leaded glass panes... and is a true artisan-genius when it comes to glass. I am honored to have his glass in one of my designs!

  • I see so much architecture that is an endless variation of a box - it is so refreshing to see curves and roundels and shapes that bring us back to Earth. Gothic needs to come back.

    • I agree. The arched windows, the gables... Even smaller additions such as stained glass panes or a curved door with Old World-style hinges can show that a designer considered beauty as well as function. And it would be nice to see that more craftsmen take pride in their trade and in the details of homes and furniture.

      @pennypay1@pennypay15 жыл бұрын
    • The round windows and door may be gothic, but the leaded-glass window was simply 'old-time', 18-1900's old-time.

    • I think I would be more happy if I could have my own tinny! Just think about it, for starters if you ask any tinny home person or someone that are RV'ers who do it full time. Can tell you that the more stuff you have the more you feel you have to take care of. Second you won't have all the over head. Like rent, lights, gas, cable well I think you get my drift. You also have the up keep and having to maintain the yard and so on and so forth. Just think about it, maybe the kids are finally out of the house. And you and your spouse start thinking about about how now is the best time as any to do what you want for a change. At least before you get to old or your health goes. I know I've wanted to do this for years now. But I don't guess I'll ever be able to. Oh my gosh I have done it again! I talk to much!😅😁🤗💜 Well take care everybody and God Bless 😇!

  • Maybe - sometime in the future, consider having breezeway connect your house to your studio. This would let you go back and forth in the rain, snow, cold plus offer a bit more storage, it would look good, and pay off in just ease of lifestyle. Could act as a mud room too. Just a thought. Love your tiny house.

  • I like the fact that the front door will fit a human instead of a child. Opening it outwards is a good idea as well. I've seen a few that are without lofts. As folks get older they won't want to crawl up a ladder or narrow stairs. Also, the nightly climb down in the dark to go to the bathroom would be bad, This is a really unique home. Reminds me a lot of a hobbit house...LOL Keep up the good work with the interviews.

It looks like it was made by elves. This woman could live in a regular home, still by herself, and need only half the space in it. She would still pay at least 50k more to not live in a generic condo with all the extra expenses. Good for her, this is awesome

They look like tiny houses you would see in a beautiful forest. I have saved so many videos of tiny homes. Many of them just look like boxes, and too modern for my taste. (Beautiful in their own rite) This is more my style, rustic, whimsical, and cabin like-feel.

    • That house isn't regular tiny house size width. It's a tad wider than normal which makes it seem way more spacious than what a regular size tiny house would be. And with "regular" I mean one you can hook up yourself and drive around with. This one, she ain't driving around with herself and likely needs special permits in order to move it to someplace else.

  • Very enchanting. Gingerbread house! I do not get the negative comments on the video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It has to be taken for what it is. It's very 'real' and home video like. I never got the impression it was supposed to be a slick, fully professional production and that only adds to the charm of it. I don't hear anyone 'whining' as 'luckyedie' says - apart from herself. That was the 'negative energy' for me. You gave very polite responses to her criticisms.

  • If I had loft bedrooms, I would insist on a half-bathroom, up there. ..of course, with a partition on the side one can view. Can you image going up and doing those steps at night, when your're half asleep?

    • Yah, the older I get the thought of navigating stairs like that in the dark or as you said half asleep could be a nightmare.
