  • For Lizzo's dress, maybe I can articulate it better. I have cellulite, it is what it is. My niece had cellulite when she was 17 and an active cheerleader under 100lbs. It is NOT something we want accentuated though. No designer should create a dress that has the potential to create the appearance of ripples where there isn't any OR where there is some cellulite already. In my opinion it is unforgivable and thoughtless.

  • I’m really appreciating Pamela Anderson’s move to going without makeup (or much, at least) and just being herself instead of solely a sex symbol. And she looks lovely - except for her hair. It’s so fried! She wouldn’t need to do a lot with it, maybe an overnight mask and/or some oil and then an updo if it’s still unhappy. And it’d still be within the going more natural realm.

  • Some of these outfits are just screaming for statement jewellery! Ariana's exaggerated silhouette is in dire need of statement drop earrings and a bracelet, rose- gold cuffs on each wrist could have taken Camilla's dress to the next level, a sleek n chic up-do for Joey and vintage necklace that complimented the tone of her dress could have done wonders...

  • I love that you admit your pre concieved notions about people's bodies because of how the fashion insdustry shows it's work. I'm guilty of the same think. And it's not just the industry putting those into our minds. It's society, the role models we look up to and hang around and, in my case, my mother's opinon. But, if more people talk about their own biases as something wrong and that is being corrected, maybe we'll be better as a community. I've learned so much about fashion with you. I pay so much more attention to the clothing I buy and how it's going to look on me, not just at the moment, but in the future as well. This new mindset has allowed me to save money by buying better but longer lasting clothing. I've stopped buying fast fashion and my "trash" volume (cheap clothing can't even be donated, they rip and get holes so easily, it's like they desintegrate) diminished substantialy. So, thanks Luke!

  • I do think the lines on lizzos thighs are from the dress. In my expereince, textured skin on upper thighs is usally kinda bumpy instead of straight lines like that. Some of what you can see is definitely her skin, but the straight lines look weirdly even and parallel to each other. I can also imagine that the fabric pulls differently over her legs than on the model cause it's not tailored properly for her size, but that's just me speculating.

  • Lizzo: skirt should be 3-4" longer to complete the hip-thigh curve, and lose the sheer veil, just legs, but in semi-shear same marroon stocking. Kylie Minogue: they chose the wrong shade of blue. That chartreuse or apple green would have gone with a pale blue that was more saturated (like a sky blue or candy blue), less gray.

  • 42:26 This Oscar De La Renta is superb, the palette is so unexpected and flattering to the client, so is the silhouette-which makes draping exciting again with an empire waist. I love every decision, execution is perfect, I LIKE IT.

  • Just found your channel and now binge watching… A note on how designs and fabrics work on different body types. As a someone that is much larger than the typical designer sample size, this same concept is true in non-designer clothing. Some of the designs and particularly fabrics…especially draped and plated fabrics are just going to fall differently on my body. It’s just physics and gravity. Lizzo’s dress was gorgeous and I applaud her for wearing whatever in the hell she wants and feels beautiful in. But in terms of how the fabric performs on the body, her skirt may have benefited from being a couple inches shorter or longer…not to expose or hide her beautiful body. But for the drape/pleat of the fabric to be altered from it original design intention by the movement of her body. This, to me, is no different than when very small framed actresses wear designs/fabrics that overwhelm their shape. Reese Witherspoon and Carrie Mulligan and Michelle Williams are all very, very petite and they ) or their stylists) recognize that there are some types of dresses that would completely over take them. Lizzo is daring in her fashion choices…but not because she is larger…she just likes to go for it. But as with any other body type, some alterations might be my to make the design and fabric work best. No different that being tall or short wasted or any other difference in body type. But I appreciate how respectful you are when discussing.
