📝 "Six Pills" Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
In the woods I met a man
Old as oak and staff in hand
Sunken eyes but gentle smile
We sat down and talked awhile
And he said I can see it in your eyes
You've been hurt a couple times
I've got the perfect antidote
To cure a heart of stone
[Pre-Chorus]
Tiny red pills in a big blue bottle
He put them right in my hands
Said this stuff can do wonders take you to nirvana
Make you a better man
I should've known something was amiss
When I saw his smile turn to a grin
But
Then as he left mе
There so perplеxed
He turned and said
[Chorus]
One to numb the hurt
Two to ease the pain
Three to clear your mind
Forget all the hate
Take as I advised
Not more than prescribed
Several weeks ahead
You'll be fine again
One to numb the hurt
Two to ease the pain
Three to clear your mind
Forget all the hate
Take as I advised
Not more than prescribed
Several weeks ahead
You'll be fine again
[Verse 2]
So I went home
My heart confused
Didn't know just what to do
I popped the cap
And took a dose
After all what could I lose
And then I touched the clouds and bathed in sky
A magic broom a carpet ride
Before I fell and woke in bed
Tried to repeat the words he said

[Chorus]
One to numb the hurt
Two to ease the pain
Three to clear my mind

What did he say next
I forget the rest
But several weeks ahead
I'll be fine again
One to numb the hurt
Two to ease the pain
Three to clear my mind
Forget all my hate
Five could never hurt
Just to calm my nerves
Several weeks ahead
I'll be fine again
[Bridge]
Tiny red pills in a big blue bottle
Wish I had the strength back then
Need to get a refill chase away the evil
All the whispers in my head
But I can't find the man I knocked on his door
His neighbours say no one lived there before
So now all my days
Just blur in a haze
They go like this
[Chorus]
One to stop the chills
Two to ease the pain
Three to wash my guilt
Forget all my shame
Five could never hurt
Six couldn't be worse
Seven days it's been
Here we go again
One to stop the chills
Two to ease the pain
Three to wash my guilt
Forget all my shame
Five could never hurt
Six couldn't be worse
Seven days it's been
Here we go again
[Outro]

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Forget my shame

  • The most amazing thing about this song is that you dont really register that the prescription never said anything about the 4th pill, so from the start the Protagonist was spiraling and you cant really filter it our since its woven so nicely in the refrain. Thats really impressive !

    • As I have major depression disorder you’re 110% correct about how it’s “suitable” lyrics BUT when it comes to depression you’re wrong it’s not about “avoiding pain” and “don’t care what happens they have nothing to lose” We’ve just become emotionally numb and don’t really know how to feel emotions like “everyone is laughing should I laugh? I didn’t really think it was that funny but if I say my opinion I might get vilified by all of them so I’ll fake I liked it and just build off they’re talking about it that way we’re safe for now” and then we do our absolute best to make the perfect mask to fit in because you think if we say your actual answer you think “they’ll leave me just like everyone else” and sadly end up trusting no one at all even if you got married and had kids in our brains we still can’t trust them 100%

And I know about this major depression because every day I'm looking at those around me being happy and I don't know what to do so I just copy their actions. They were just saying their opinion and I hope you can see things out of your depression some times, I know that you can't decide when to come out because it just happens but try to be positive even if it's hard.

  • This song depicts addiction very well. Honestly I have never found a song that really shows this stuff as well as this one. It starts off seemingly ok and it can start off by someone tempting you aka “the old man” or maybe just temptation from Satan since his sole purpose is to see us fall. And because we’re usually at a low point in life when this happens, we decide “let’s just try it” and without realizing it quickly turns into an addiction and we’re hooked in which if we stay in it, we will probably die to overdose, or we can choose to fight it and overcome it. I mean I used to be hooked on pills when I was 13 up until I was 14-15 then I decided to quit, and I did but dang it is probably the hardest thing I ever went through in my life. And also because of that this song hits me on a personal level and it’s a good song whenever I’m tempted even now only about a year later, (still clean and trying to), because it helps me realize what it can lead to, although ngl even after overcoming it I am tempted to go back simply for the idea of an escape although I know it won’t end well. And honestly for this song I’m so grateful because it’s been helping me in my journey. So thank you so much Rosendale

    • For me it's vaping but I've looked for other stuff as well I'm tryna take a break at least tho even if it's a short temporary break and I'm only 14😅

      @one-eyedking9981@one-eyedking9981 Жыл бұрын
    • @@one-eyedking9981 #1 tip for quitting is to change your coping mechanisms and what you do when you feel low. For example the most I’d usually wanna go back is when I’m feeling low or depressed, which is actually a bad coping mechanism I had developed but I’ve been doing it because that’s how people around me dealt with it. It wasn’t until I fully realized and admitted it was an issue and decided to quit and change my habits did it become easier. Also one thought that really motivated me was “is this really the life I’d look back to years later and say yeah I’m proud of that and would my younger self be proud of me for choosing that path” And for me that answer was no. And I decided this is NOT going to be the way my life is gonna turn out and I WILL get my life together and make my younger self proud. Because even though it is good to do it for the sake of others, you should mainly do it for yourself. For if you are here today and not dead there must be a reason right? For you being here? Otherwise why would we be here if we weren’t significant? And realizing your worth helps a lot too with overcoming addictions. If you need help or any guidance or anything feel free to let me know! I’d be more than happy to help! ^^

    • @@soulsaver3459 Yea, I know all that and all I just don't have much care for most things really. I care about very few things and honestly whether I live or die is not one of them. There's a whole lot wrong with me and almost all of it can't be changed because it was mainly built into me after pretty much 7 years of straight hell. For example I developed a strange liking to the feeling of pain and the taste of blood and when I see people dying in shows or movies or even in real life my mind thinks "Wow, that's brutal but also kinda dope at the same time" I don't know why but I think a lot of twisted shit because I will literally go back right after and re-watch the deaths, like with that Ronnie McNutt guy I watched his suicide video multiple times and I don't know why I am so into all of this shit. I literally think that seeing blood squirting out of someone's body is satisfying. I am sure all the stuff I am telling you is absolutely terrifying and I probably shouldn't have gone into such specific detail but this is the truth about me and it can't be fixed, my brain is dark and twisted and I hate it. I act all happy and like everything in my mind is all sunshine rainbows and puppies but my mind is obviously much darker than that.

  • This song reminds me of times when I took more pills than the psychiatrist told me to, all to deceive the pain and emptiness... It makes me want to cry and at the same time pulls back so strongly, I haven't taken it for several months but I always have it with me

  • This song is something else. Those words is very relative for some people. The creator of this song is very creative, and I am also addicted to this song. As a middle child, I find this as a friend when I'm alone. Or so, this song is very related for those who especially dying or suffering from ADHD, anxiety, and depression. But, I really hope thst the song won't affect your life by the lyrics.

  • It's interesting how you can interpret this. The man said "One to numb the hurt, two to ease the pain, three two clear your mind." He never said "four" but rather someone said "forget all the pain" foreshadowing addiction in a form. However, the man also said "take no more than prescribed" in a way and he'll "be fine again." This man could and from what we know, does have pure intentions. In my mind this song is about temptation, the craving to feel something other than bad or empty. As you indulge in this activity, you start to get addicted to it in the form of motivation and want. Just as you love and want to hang out with friends, you want this drug and start to need more for the same false feeling. Pure intentions in giving him pills to help, the man giving into temptation and now he wont be fine. To me this song is about the temptation to stray from the good path, the logical path, the one that'll fix everything. Strength and perseverance, so easily taken away by seductively evil pleasures. How easily your lack of control can bring you to ruin, showing the weakness of man. That's my interpretation at least. Doesn't have to be right.

  • Lyrics, cause ones in desription are slightly messed up: [Verse 1] In the woods I met a man Old as oak and staff in hand Sunken eyes but gentle smile We sat down and talked awhile And he said I can see it in your eyes You've been hurt a couple times I've got the perfect antidote To cure a heart of stone [Pre-Chorus] Tiny red pills in a big blue bottle He put them right in my hands Said this stuff can do wonders take you to nirvana Make you a better man I should've known something was amiss When I saw his smile turn to a grin But Then as he left mе There so perplеxed He turned and said [Chorus] One to numb the hurt Two to ease the pain Three to clear your mind Forget all the hate Take as I advised Not more than prescribed Several weeks ahead You'll be fine again One to numb the hurt Two to ease the pain Three to clear your mind Forget all the hate Take as I advised Not more than prescribed Several weeks ahead You'll be fine again [Verse 2] So I went home My heart confused Didn't know just what to do I popped the cap And took a dose After all what could I lose And then I touched the clouds and bathed in sky A magic broom a carpet ride Before I fell and woke in bed Tried to repeat the words he said [Chorus] One to numb the hurt Two to ease the pain Three to clear my mind Forget all my hate What did he say next I forget the rest Several weeks ahead I'll be fine again One to numb the hurt Two to ease the pain Three to clear my mind Forget all my hate Five could never hurt Just to calm my nerves Several weeks ahead I'll be fine again [Bridge] Tiny red pills in a big blue bottle Wish I had the strength back then Need to get a refill chase away the evil All the whispers in my head But I can't find the man I knocked on his door His neighbours say no one lived there before So now all my days Just blur in a haze They go like this [Chorus] One to stop the chills Two to ease the pain Three to wash my guilt Forget all my shame Five could never hurt Six couldn't be worse Seven days it's been Here we go again One to stop the chills Two to ease the pain Three to wash my guilt Forget all my shame Five could never hurt Six couldn't be worse Seven days it's been Here we go again [Outro] Here we go again Here we go again Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh To stop the pain Forget my shame Ah-ah One Two Three Four Five Six

It's a weird road to be on. Just trying it out at the beginning and in no time ur stuck in a loop and u can't stop, but ur body is suffering and- Such a great song. And by midway the song (the beat) sounds like a thrumming heartbeat then the ending sounds like the hospital. I love this song, so eerie yet meaningful

  • I know I'm not like most people, and if I went into detail about my past people would say "Fake" or "And everyone clapped" but that's my life. I am dealing with some things, ghosts and Demons, and all this lack of feeling, all except pain and Agony. I'm not sure of its the countless people I've lost, or something else inside me that hurts that even I forgot. It could be I'm used to all the Dark things that when it's pointed out to me, that's when it hurts. For all of you out there in bad places, keep you head up friend. You can make it through this, you are stronger than you think and we can make it through this.
