Another Earth Day has come and gone, it would seem in the blink of an eye, and the world is nowhere near to solving the many long-standing and contentious issues of climate change.
Some say that attention to micro issues like plastic pollution, which was the focus of this Earth Day, should be reviewed to look at larger issues, Earth warming for instance. The point is that by focusing on the macro, the micro would get addressed.
That could be a hard sell given the anger in the Global South about how the rich North has treated them. Promises dating back to 2015, when the rich promised $100 billion a year to mitigate climate change in the south, remains unfulfilled.
