(I miss them.) I am such a failed foster!!! I am not fostering anymore. It's harder to do than it looked.... giving them up. I will keep only 2 dogs in the future after all my dogs have lived out their natural lives. I admire "real foster" people.... those that find good homes for their foster pups!! I am not one!! I guess I didn't get the memo that said.... "good foster homes don't mean Only your home!!"

  • When we adopted our newest doggie baby, he was 4 months old. Terrified of cars, both riding in, and walking around. He wouldn’t cross any streets. Peed and puked in the car. 9 months later, he will now cross the streets without treats. Still working on riding in the car, but the last ride had no pee or puke (yay!). He is a 50 pound Velcro lap dog.

    • I had a dog who would get sick in the car too. One day my sister had to ride in the backseat (no dog) and SHE got carsick. It was a dodge neon, a car very low to the ground, a lot of wheel noise in the backseat. Shortly thereafter I bought an SUV with more room in back for my dogs to ride in (I had 2 large dogs), and my dog never got sick again. Just saying it may also be the type of vehicle in addition to the dog’s fear. Good luck with your pup, I have lived with 3 very fearful dogs, some get over it sooner than others. The one I have now runs if I drop ANYTHING, including a sheet of paper. He’s running for the hills! Unfortunately, I am a big clutz and I drop things often. I’ve had him a little over two years now and he is finally getting used to me dropping things! He still runs but comes back from a shorter distance away! And he is definitely still afraid of new situations. BTW - he’s 120 pounds of Mastiff Rottweiler mix. 😆. Love him to pieces, makes me laugh everyday.

    • Michele, foster caregiver, when I read that a pitbull is "terrified," I immediately think of the sheer terror experienced by child and adult victims of pitbull attacks. From Daily Mail on May 3, 2022, attack by a pack of pitbulls. Victim's sister interviewed: 'When she passed out they were eating her alive. The dogs dragged her. They scalped her. Her skull was showing. They tore her left eyelid off. 'They tore her right cheek off left a hole. They ate the skin off her inner thigh and ate the flesh off her arms and ripped them off. Doctors were forced to wait for a month for the infection from the deep bites to subside before they were able stitch up the gashes on her forehead and scalp. Her sister continued: 'She said doctors had to put 109 staples in the front of her head and at least 90 staples in the back of her head.' A trachea tube was placed in her throat because the bacteria from the dogs mouth got into her esophagus which her sister said is now permanent. She also lost her vocal chords and now is forced to speak using a voice-generated box."

    • @@noremac0575 I think they’re misunderstood. The owners of this breed would definitely disagree with you. I know their reputation is awful but a bad owner/master can turn any dog, from the tiny little 4-pound fur ball to a 150-pound St. Bernard mature dog into an angry, snapping aggressive thing that is truly scary to behold because he looks like if he gets hold of you he will rip you to pieces. Dogs, just like humans, know and do what they are taught. You train with love and kindness not with pain and threats. With enough threats, pain and beatings you can turn the sweetest of animals into monsters of your nightmares.

It bring tears to my eyes God put people like both of you on this Earth for a reason much love and respect to you much love and respect to the fur baby and her new mommy and her new brother or sister I'm not sure🙏💛💛🌷

I love happy stories and endings like this💜

  • Poppy is such a beautiful, sweet love bug and I am very happy that she found a wonderful home where she gets all she need and much more 💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝 I am one of those people who never could foster cause the house would be crowded with foster fails...☺️ We adopted our first dog in 2009. Her pregnant mom was abandond in front of the local shelter by night... She gave birth to six healthy and beautiful puppies. They all got adopted very fast cause they were puppies and so beautiful. They were a mix of a St. Bernard and a great Münsterländer, a german hunting breed... So they were really big and wonderful 💙💙💙. Our beloved giant baby girl crazy Daisy was adopted too but the woman had a bad car crash and she died...😭😭😭 He tried so hard to found somebody who can take care of her while he was working but he don't found anybody cause he was working far away and was only at home at the weekends... So he brought her back to the shelter crying so much and he was heartbroken... Daisy's luck was that she was just 7 months old and she was that kind of dog being always happy and she loved everything and everybody... We checked the shelter if there was a big dog who fits in our life. We needed a dog who liked cats and Kids cause we have two Maine Coon boys and our grandchilds are here very often... So Daisy stepped in our life... It was love at first sight for everybody and she was sooo happy that she could come with us... She was so special and unique... Always enjoying life and having fun she was everybodys best friend... She was happy every second and and her favourite thing was having the house full with people as more as better... She was a giant lap dog and mamas baby... My husband called her always Magneta cause she never let me get out of her sight... People who don't know her said it is unbelievable cause she was sending millions of hearts when she looked at me.... As you can imagine I loved her to the moon and back same as she did... She was never sick for one second and she was a power package and so healthy.... Until August 2019... She always laid on my left side or she came on my sofa and curled her body around me... Not that day.... She was laying under the table doing nothing but she didn't sleep.... I called her but she didn't came and this wasn't my crazy Daisy... I crawled under the table and wanted to check her and she was really really hot.... Of course it was a sunday evening and there wasn't a chance to get a vet.... I called a vet clinic more than 250 km away and they asked me if I had Novalgin at home a strong pain killer... I really had it cause of my headaches and they told me to give her 40 drops cause her weight was about almost 100 lbs... I gave her the medicine and maybe 25 minutes later she was like nothing happened.... She was jumping around, eating, drinking and she felt super good.... Of course we went to the vet next morning.... Dogs have a body temperature between 38 and almost 39 degrees and at this bad evening it was 40.6 degrees...😱😱😱 But the next morning she had 39.4 so it wasn't that bad.... The vet checked her and took some blood... There was a infection somewhere but she didn't know where so she made some x-rays... Not good... There was a shadow sized like a tennis ball directly in her stomach area but she wasn't sure where it was located exactly... She gave her some antibiotics and we got a date for making a ultra sound of her stomach area in thursday morning.... The ultra sound showed that the tumor, cyst or whatever sat directly on her milt.... She said it is no problem to take the milt out and we could pick her up at the late afternoon.... We just arrived at my daughters house cause she invited us for breakfast.... My mobile was ringing and it was the vet... She told me Daysy's complete stomach area was filled with uncountable tumors and it would be the best don't let her wake up again cause this kind of cancer is so aggressive and growing very fast so she would have maximum 8 - 12 weeks left and those in bad pain..... WHAT ??????? SHE TOLD ME AT THE PHONE THAT SHE NEEDED THE PERMISSION FOR PUTTING HER TO SLEEP.... MY BELOVED GIANT BABY GIRL ???? I couldn't talk and my daughter took my mobile... She asked the vet several times if there wasn't another way but she said again no no no.... We never would let suffer one of our animals so we said yes.... But she must wait until we said goodbye.... We drove back to the vet and Daisy was laying on that surgery table sleeping with that mask on her nose.... She looked so peaceful and relaxed without any pain... We hold and cuddle her for over one hour and we took her paw prints.... After a long time the vet came in and said it is time now letting her go... We couldn't talk and we were both crying so hard.... My wonderful sweet baby angel must leave this world ????? It was so so horrible and felt completly wrong... For me it was like betrayal cause in the morning WE brought her to the vet she was trusting us so so much and we had to say put her down ????? Yes, we couldn't know that it was so bad and we were sure to pick her up in the afternoon... But now we had to make the hardest decision in our life.... The vet gave her "the final shot" that's how she said it and maybe two minutes later our beloved baby was gone..... Her wonderful big brown eyes weren't the same. They looked like cold glass marbles and you could see that her soul was gone.... This wasn't our beautiful girl this was a empty cover..... That day was the blackest day ever and our whole world shattered in seconds..... I wished everybody would know her and see and feel her unconditional love.... She gave us almost 11 years and this was the best time ever... The grieving never stops this wound will never heal... Almost three years later the sadness isn't away no hour without thinking on her.... The paw print we took is a wonderful tattoo on my right arm now and every dot you can see are their hairs... She was and is the love of my life and this will never change... I am not afraid of dying cause I know we will meet again and nothing can separate us anymore... I love and miss you so so so much sweet baby but mom is coming one day and I will find you I promise... 💝🐾🌹🐾💔💔💔🐾🌹🐾💝
