    • @@lucas02389 Oh yes I have. Trying to mount 11R24.5 tires that have been stacked on their sides for a while can be too hard for a strap. Pulling in on the tread on a small tire isn't too bad, the sidewalls on a truck tire don't want to go out much due to the sidewall height in relation to the tread width. A short tire is much more flexible. A Super Single tire is a lot easier to seat than an 11R.

    • All ya need is a bar to stick through the center of the wheel to pry against and 2 long flathead screwdrivers, if its being difficult then but a little Murphys soap or wd40 or something on the bead, heck even soapy water can get the job done, some of em are ridiculously difficult but generally it's all just technique

      @lumpyzx2645@lumpyzx26452 жыл бұрын
    • Oh and if the wheel is rusty inside, wire wheel the bead area before putting it back together, soapy water again will work for lube and you'll likely need a pair of vice grips to reinstall, a little hip action to get the knees in the right spot, pry with the screwdriver, air it up, if the bead doesn't want to seat you could try a 1" ratchet strap around the center of the tire, ive used double ended male fittings on the end of a 2nd hose if I didn't have a cheetah to use while using the end of the female hose fitting (no chuck) over the valve stem with the Schrader valve removed, that will give you the most air at once without a cheetah (which are worth every penny, but do not hold them in front of your face, they don't feel very good when they smack you in the jaw), if it still won't seat you could carefully use ether or carb/brake cleaner but ive never done that personally and wouldn't recommend it unless it's the only option, and when doing that do not stand over the wheel, to break the bead you could use a hammer or a truck (or a proper bead breaker), that's about all I can think of rn, hopefully I was of some help

The beads are close to one another and the wheel bead area is far apart. So.... What I said in the first place. That's the best method, costs the least, gets done quickest, nobody starts giving the buster a bad time. Savvy? If not then try doing it for 14 hours a day In a snowstorm that hangs around without melting and weeks pass as the thaw and freeze repeat day after day, and the streets are lined with cars that didn't prepare for winter. Even businesses who use this wheel in their trucks and Vans are lined up outside. Necessity is the mother of invention but simplicity is the path to success. • For smaller tires I use duct tape on both sides. It has to cover the gap everywhere (but it doesn't have to look fancy). Of course, the sidewalls and rim have to be clean enough the duct tape can grab it. When inflating it only takes a fraction of a psi to make the tire balloon out; if you have as little as ten square inches of sidewall area one PSI will push the sidewall toward the bead with 10 lbs force.

  • As someone who has used this machine and others - lift the tire up, off the machine but above the secondary air jets, make sure the bead is lubed up, and hit the air from underneath and make sure you still have a the nozzle/chuck in the valve stem. Attach the locking air chuck to valve stem, Lift up outer edges of tire w/wheel unclamped from machine, with a lubed bead, hit the hi pressure inflate then hold the normal inflate (assuming you have the pedals) and much easier to do then having to hook up auxiliary hose

  • I was kinda hoping for a new trick. The video makes it look easier than it actually is sometimes and you'll need to use a few more tricks on top of this one. My personal favorite is using the hydraulic arm to stretch the bead out a bit.

  • I usually put a rope around the diameter of the tire, then stick a bar between the tite and the rope and wind the rope up. If the bead doesn't spread out to the sides, it closes the gap between the tire and rim. Then fiil with air at the stem. You could also try the WD-40 and a lighter trick, but that almost looks like something for Darwin award cadidates.

  • A 1/2" or 3/4" air hose helps too. You get more air flowing into the tire. I started out with a 1/4" hose. That was bad. Took me a while to learn that lesson.

  • If we had tires that could cause some good grief we would take a few bricks or a few half brick for smaller tires and put em inbetween the beads and have em bake in the sun for a good minute, it really did help. Im with you on this set up. Had a cheetah and a bazooka Style. Ill mount 22.5 over everything tho. So simple and easy haha " pass me the sticks"

  • Last time I did that work on tires (early 1970's) we had an inflatable hose that wrapped around the tire at the center of the tread. Inflate that to move the beads, then inflate the tire through the stem.

  • I’m glad you actually did it the right way! Too many morons showing the either trick! I’ve only used it when absolutely necessary & they were either fairly new or new tires! Like the wide tractor trailer front tires on aluminum rims, I think they were 445s, & also some 44 super swampers for a old school jacked up square body! I’m glad you showed the proper way! Those blast tanks could be made out of old air & old propane tanks! Really cheap! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    • We have a truck with 44s and the way we get them to pop on the bead was to put big straps on the middle, it pushed the sidewall out enough to put air in through the valve stem

  • I would flip the rim on a 5 gal bucket. Add tire soap around the bead. Push the tire down till it seal. Flip the rim back. With the weight of the tire hanging on the bucket, it would close enough to add air. Also there a tire rubber ring they sell. You smear it with tire soap & install around the wheel. As air is filling the tire, ring will pop out.

Like, he blaster it with what ... air, glue, magic taco sauce like WTF?! IT SUCKS when videos are so vague. If tire guys are confused as to what you quickly did there, how do the inexperienced look at it?! Do you think they learned your trick?! Hope your future vids are a little more explanitory!!😁👍
