“Don’t waste your pain, it’s a useful paint” yasss Shia
where the only art that matters come from
Gia Vee here I come.
whats bad for the heart is good fo the art
Gia Vee was gonna quote this in the comments too. That’s beautiful
Great line from the film (paraphrasing): Shia/Otis: "The only useful thing my dad ever gave me was pain, and you wanna take that away?!" Therapist: "Can I?"
The way Noah sees him and is physically close to him just says a lot about Shia. He's a magnet of positivity and light, I'm glad he's finally made it.
Yessss
He’s a magnet for negativity and maybe red and blue lights but that’s about it when it comes to light, i’m sorry I should say that he “was”......hopefully he is better cause I think he’s a great actor and he seems like a really good down to earth person who just happens to have a drinking problem that brings out the worst in him
Why is Noah imitating a British kid here?
he from cybertron
@@Scorch428 he is british lmaooo
The opening line of "Shia, you look so happy" was so beautiful
How comparatively unhappy and completely disinterested did old matey in the back look in contrast! hahaha He's all I could see. freaked me out! :D
I swear to god, Shia is the most underrated actor out there. He is a gem.
him and Jonah Hill imo
Yahwehs Blue boy I agree
NEWTONS L.A.W. Nice One 👍
You can say that again. In a world where Hollywood is becoming more banal and superficial, actors like Shia do not fit in.
In a way he’s not that underrated. He's the type of actor who gets better with time/maturity, due to his "antics/tantrums" and his celebrity childhood. He just now starting to "humble" himself and mature and will grow into the actor he's meant to be. Everyone could see the seed of his talents but he didn't really show it until it was his time, which I think, is starts now or in this immediate future and the best thing about it is that, you can see it in his face that he knows it aswell.
'the greatest thing my father ever gave me was pain and you wanna take that away from me'. This is a line that makes a film incredible
It’s toxic as fuck but god it’s real.
Same
Same
Line was surreal. I wanted to cry 😭
I cried like a baby when that part came.
'Smooth waters never made a skilled sailor' Damn... that's good.
Truth. I would like to make that a word art of sorts
You know that's a popular saying, right?
@@tgnben it may be popular, but that doesn't mean everyone's heard it. I hadn't before this video
A lesson I almost lost my life to learn that helps me more than anything. This is for those who are suffering. I don't care what you're suffering from you need to hear this. There is healing and growth in pain. You HAVE to do life like you're a motherfucking warrior on a battle field. The warrior doesn't sit around and wait for the battle to start and be over. He trains hard, puts himself through much suffering, and is restless in his pursuit to be a capable warrior. When I said I almost lost my life trying to seek instant gratification and delaying and avoiding ANY amount of discomfort or pain, I don't mean I almost died, I mean I almost wasted my life never living. And tbh I have to remind myself of this often and spend time focusing and being mindful of it otherwise I begin to take it "easy" again. Even though I now know damn well there's no such thing.
@@tgnben i had never heard of it

Playing his dad had to do something for his mental health, it seems positive. I'm so happy to see him doing better.
I was thinking the same thing. I feel like it freed him some how, All the Pain and Anger!! Like therapy.
Dieannuhh many other things have also effected his mental health positively.
@@ethidian3444 of course, I was just speaking on him playing this role specifically.
Dieannuhh like he said it released the inner demons it was a way for him to vent!
He actually made amends with his dad before shooting the film (bc he needed to get his dad's permission to use his likeness). But through that, they were able to make peace. Very glad they did.
Shia Labeouf Tom Hardy and Keanu Reeves walk into a bar, dont drink but spend the rest of the night in the back playing pool talking about love and life because these men are enlightened.
Interesting how they are all humble and tuned out of the materialistic life (new era) Shia=Gemini, Tom and Keanu= Virgos air signs Wise thinkers. IMO
Imagine if Tom Hanks was there as well
Sean Fitzgerald false, their characters when far on set, if anything Shia is a big fan of tom.
JR H yeah bro Shia puncher Tom in the face on the set of lawless
Sean Fitzgerald look for the lawless press they all together. Media just made it more dramatic and false. They did got into it and even Tom admit it Shia was quiet intimidating bc how serious he took his roll.
that kid adores him ! he almost on top of him LOL
Arianna Sanchez yessss! Did you notice how he would stare at him when he spoke awwww
I immediately noticed that. It's kind of strange.
Arianna Sanchez I noticed that too. Right away I noticed how he looked at him like he was in love with him in a good way
He totally looks up to him. They even look alike...could pass as brothers

When he said "don't waste your pain" I stopped what I was doing and teared up a bit. Haven't talked to my father in 6 years. He can't get away from the bottle. I'm usually negative when it comes to that subject. That line hit me though. Don't waste your pain. I won't anymore.
Yes.
Haven't really spoke with mine for about a decade and I don't plan to. He's not alcoholic, just an asshole.
Even though he’s an asshole, call him, because I’m sure if he was gone you’d miss having the option. That’s how it is for me anyway.
I’m so captivated by Shia and this entire cast. I can’t wait to see this film.
i like seeing humans drawing together. too bad its always on these brief movie endeavors. while the majority of the world continues the hating.
It was incredible! Heartbreaking and healing.
GIRL SAME!
Katie Giordano I’m dying to see it too. As someone who has a complicated difficult parental relationship myself, i think seeing it will be extremely interesting
This man is a force to be reckoned with. He's too real for Hollywood. God bless.
THAT LITTLE BOY HAS GROWN UP SO FAST. WHATTT
Same as Finn Wolfhard. These kids, seriously.
This is not the kid from Stranger Things.
I have to agree. Just two years ago wonder came out and he looked so young
I also had no idea he was British!
Dig Rom puberty man. They change every sec
“Don’t waste your pain, it’s useful paint” I wholeheartedly appreciate Shia! So happy he is in a much better space.
Good to see that Shia Labeouf is getting better work and material in films. Really is nice.
Well he’s the one that made the movie
He actually wrote this film himself! Giving himself better material :)
Hes not getting better work, he's MAKING better work. You need to create the positivity in your life
@@EddyKaSham OK, I understand. Still, it is swell to see him just doing better, though. Question: did you like Eva Green's performance from Dumbo?

excited to see noah continue his career, he's so talented and hardworking.
I really like this young man (Noah Jupe), he seems SO special; he should be protected at all costs! X
He'll be fine. Hollywood these days are super strict.
Been rocking with Shia almost his whole career. Feels like I grew up with him! Can’t wait to see this movie!
I've always liked him since I saw him in the Project Greenlight series in 2003. There was just a unique and fervent energy about him.

Omg yes! He’s adorable!
When did Shia become this philosopher and gentle soul? My god I love every minute of this. He seems so at peace finally.
"smooth waters never made a skilled sailor" facts.
It can be so weird growing up with an actor because in most cases you don't really see them grow in real time. You just get short glimpses of their life and that's it. They could be 12 one day then two years later turn 19. Because that movie you saw them in is 5 years old or the tv show was just re-runs With Shia however I felt like I watched him grow in real time. From Even Stevens to Transformers, through all the crazy drama and to now. Because of that I can't help but root for him in whatever he does.
Yes and he's so real that you feel like you know him. Or at least can relate with him in some way.
Coming from a broken family, I know the only thing that can release you from your pain and agony is forgiveness. I didn't believe that notion at first but when I tried it personally, it freed me from my agony.
Struggling with this right now
So true! To forgive those who hurt you and to put yourself in their shoes and think about the things they was going through at the time or at least have an understating of why they are the way they are helps too. Like the saying goes you can forgive but never forget. But if you can forgive you can free yourself from a prison of anger hurt and pain. Because it’s not about them it’s about you and letting go is freeing in itself. The only thing that ties you to them still is holding on to those feelings of hurt.
@@Laurakate_xo So beautifully said 👏👏

Man I love seeing Shia in a good state of mind like this. Dude is talented as hell. Also, Alma Har'el seems like an awesome person and I look forward to seeing what she directs next.
Shia is so authentic. I feel his soul 100% and I hope he continues to do well.
What s bold move on Shia's part to lay his life out there for us to see and to portray his own father in a raw and unfiltered way. I see him very differently now.
After seeing his performance in PeanutButter Falcon … this is definitely on my list.
Such a a great film! He was fantastic!
You won’t be disappointed
Both amazing films and Shia killed it on both!

it's a very unique beauty too. not what we normally picture, but beautiful no doubt!
Absolutely. She's gorgeous
Noah is so talented, he has a great American accent and is such a great actor I look up to him so much! He’s my favorite actor!
I'm worried about my dad. He's going down that path. I want him to see this movie. I'm going to take him if I can.
Sorry to hear your pain
I grew up as a kid of an alcoholic and looking back, that pain taught me so much about the world and having empathy for those who hurt us and those who may have struggles we don’t understand. Shia, thank you for this movie.
It’s amazing seeing him smile so much. He has an amazing smile.
It shows his inner beauty. He also has light back in his eyes.
Shia has always been one of the most talented actors glad he’s finally got everything together so we can appreciate him.
Some of the most amazing actors started with a torrid childhood, they are made to grow up to fast, and have a fight or flight mentality.
Shia did an amazing job.. I was truly amazed by him and by Noah, and Lucas, but mostly Shia and Noah. They did absolutely amazing together. Loved the movie.
“i’m just here right now” i absolutely love him
You can littleraly feel the love in the room. Shia's willingness to be real and share is beautiful. Admire him so much
Over the past two months, Shia Labeouf has become one of my biggest inspirations. He has so much love and creativity to share and I'm at a point in my life where I am ready to recognize and channel past trauma into something good. I think a lot of us feel that way. He is so important. And not even in a one-sided fandom sort of way. The parts of him that we are lucky enough to see are just wonderful examples of letting your freak flag fly and conjuring compassion.
If Alma was wearing a green dress she would be basically the live action version of Merida, I love it!!!
Shia,s authenticity is amazing. He’s just himself and he owns it. One of my favourite actors hands down!!
Love this new Shia.. so relaxed in his own skin 🧡
That's because he's been sedated by his handlers.

I REALLY enjoyed this interview. So much realness. So many genuine emotions. Beautiful.
Active member of the Mongols MC here.. I appreciate your Father and the interview with Interview Magazine really sheds some light on the Son-Father dynamic. Thank you to both of you.
This was such a great interview! Great questions, I loved hearing what everyone had to say. The fact that Noah said he felt safe on set, with Shia, touched my heart because it reminded me of my students during my time at City Year, the importance of establishing a safe space for people, and especially in this case, kids.💛 It seems like Shia is in a better place, and I'm glad to see that. I'm definitely watching this movie soon. I like his two quotations that other commenters have mentioned, about not wasting your pain because it's useful paint and that a skillful sailor doesn't sail smooth waters. Bless him and the rest of the cast. I look forward to seeing them thrive in the industry. 💛
I'm so happy that Shia is at a great place in his life because I've always admired this guy, even through his ups and downs. So excited to see Honey Boy, and can't wait to see what he does next.
I almost forgot how much style Shia had. Beat Cortez's with a clean fit looks amazing
I've always loved watching shia act, I'm happy he has found himself and I hope he stays this way so he can act again. I've missed him.
Noah has great style for his age and just in general, big props 👍🏼
When I was a kid seeing Shia first appearance as a kid was mesmerizing. He was one of the first actors I’ve stuck onto just seeing him act even as a kid he was born to be here. Even when Shia had some dark phases in his life going mia I feel for a bit but m glad tto see him doing good. Underrated actor should direct more

I would just say Shia should be so proud. I am so glad he's has gone thru the dark place and is coming back out into the light. He is raw, sincere, and real. Stand proud and keep yourself safe and healthy now. God bless.
I'm so proud of Shia. You can tell he has really done some inner work. He seems like such a smart and nice guy.
Shia exudes such joy, you can feel it. I’m so happy he’s free, it’s inspiring.

Shia LaBeouf is great. I hope he is doing okay everyone loves him. Underrated actor and movies. We could use more of him.
I grew up with Shia, my first ever crush, with all that happened in Hollywood and changed or like some say mistakes but he's human seeing him coming back being himself and he was always honest makes me more happy, gotta love him.

Love how he seems not mainstream and now so organic. He seems so much happier Love it, and love him. !!
Man, I got so fortunate in life. My father was a phenomenal human being and an even better father. He was gentle, kind, open, incredibly honest and loving, but also strong and so authentic. 10:00 ish the importance of a safe space that you are free to experiment go for anything love hurt cry and laugh is one of the most important things for a young actor to not get discouraged otherwise he would not have been able to be done to as effectively because acting is doing if he couldn’t do it wouldn’t be.
