Its a shame the analog rev counter and the starter key knob got lost...These little things made Porsches so special...

It’s actually tragic. These flimsy display panels are cheaper to make. In Porsche, we loved the combination panels with smart displays and dials, now that was cool.

This upgrade is awesome in my humble opinion. Dream of a Porsche and with age now an SUV makes most sense. Another shoot in Cape Town. The South African mother city appears to be a favourite with manufacturers. Somewhat bias being South African!

Finally we can choose our own adventure, we were never able to do that with the previous versions! Oh well, this crossover type of car is a dying breed. They had their few years of fame but we all realise the inefficient nature of these cars. Better get yours now so in 100 years they are as special as the T-fords

Why none of Western brands are doing PHEV like this is a mystery: The GWM is launching, in China, some PHEV SUV 400hp (beautiful) models that have a range of more than 1300 Km with a single tank of 55l, this is possible because they are run by electric motors, the small and efficient 1.5l ICE engine is mostly a range extender. It can also go 170 Km in electric only mode. That said, the air suspension should be standard in the Porsche. I also dislike this trend of full digital clusters: the excess of information detracts from the driving experience, and the screens are also worse for eye fatigue.
PHEV sales in china which is largest car market are cratering. So much so audi is halting sales. PHEVs never been big sellers in USA. Prob not worth hassle. For china, they really need a full EV, like yesterday
@@TeslaRoadtrips I don't know about the Chinese market, but this Cayenne hybrid is a PHEV, and it's a dumb one: they can shave off a lot of weight using more powerful electric motors and a range extender, both from the engine and transmission, but also from a smaller battery compared to a BEV. This will bring more performance and more range. That's because electric motors are way more efficient, 95% versus 20% of a traditional ICE plus transmission. In some markets, they could even use zero emission fuels, like ethanol in Brazil and other countries.

Ahh... I loved the First Gen Cayenne, was okish with FL. Loved the second gen, was okish with FL. Loved the third gen, not sure about okish on the FL. Taycan display with even more finger pointing while driving... and the one question I have not still received answer to - why in the world the shifter is brought to front panel? Is this some Honda Odyssey stuff :(
because the shifter is not even needed as "shifter" anymore. Since is not attached to the transmission there's no need to use the available space in the center console to place a useless chunk of material when that space can be put to better service by placing there useful buttons, screens and additional storage for the ever present smartphones of these days.

@@motorconcierge well, I don’t know how you use the Cayenne but the E3 Cayenne on everyday use have a few nuances related to the storage for the driver and the placement of the wireless charger. You cannot have easy access to your phone while charging unless you use an annoying cable and if you use the usb port in the console you risk damaging the cable with the lid all the time. These changes also bring the Cayenne more in line with modern cars from other manufacturers. If you don’t like screens in a car you can always go and buy a 1983 VW beetle and be done with it.

It's so sad to see Porsche going with the crowd and getting rid of all the cool interactions between driver and car. The new dash without the analog rev counter and the new start button are so generic, just like you see in any other car, so unPorsche! It's bad, but the shift lever is the worst, in an electric car it's fine, but if you buy a Cayenne, one of the sportiest suvs, you want to interact with it, you're not worried about one more small storage compartment. I mean, even the new Range Rover has a "regular" shifter. I bet they hired someone from BMW for that interior redesign haha. At least the exterior still looks good. As an owner of the current generation Cayenne, it's just sad to see this "evolution".
