Lalo needs his own series. Ruthless, calculating and charismatic, hands down Best ever salamanca.
Laying low with Laylo?
People don’t think things through when they say this. What would his arc even be?
I guess a backstory? What shaped him? His relationship with his cousins etc@@JakeSmith-rv1hm
@@mrneutral8423 what’s… the arc? He’s from a crime family and became a criminal. That’s not riveting. And he’s not sympathetic in the slightest either. Let it be
The “worst” Salamanca you mean. 😉
The fact that Lalo had an easy escape route during the raid, thought about it for a second, and decided to go back in and take out the rest of them is just so cold
When he opens it and looks around i knew he was going to do something crazy and not just run away. Bad ass scene
I think it was to cover his tracks. He didnt want the mercenaries to say that he got away so he had to go back.
Everything he did was calculated he used that as a sort of trap got out and behind them and came back to finish them off so they weren’t there later on to get after him. He also wanted the people who called for the hit to think he was dead not get reported back that he escaped.
Problem with that is any paramilitary attacker would never go into the tunnel. Rather, they would search for the exit.
@@blackdoglegyh but they got paid to kill him so it was their only option
Tuco was brutishly intimidating. Twins were silently intimidating. Hector, before being crippled, was patriarch intimidating. Lalo was intellectually intimidating. Salamanca’s definitely were a mixed bag of interesting characters.
'' Lalo was intellectually intimidating'' and not only that, he had unbelievable physical dexterity like a Xenomorph and that one trick pony plastic smile.
@@rocksparadox “Unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality.” - Ash
mad family
Lalo is all of them. He's a beast physically and would absolutely destroy Tuco, maybe not both twins but he was essentially the best of every field.
At first i thought Lalo was a psychopath , but Gus fits the bill more ...
Lalo repeating, "Tell me again," in that lower voice, was terrifying 💀
4, 5
Scared the hell out of me. Absolutely terrifying
Lalo always showed to be a very friendly man, but its psychological wisdom to know: If a friendly man turns angry, they turn into the worst monsters éver! It was easy to piss of Tuco, and he'd go at you like a beast The Twins were silent assasins; no words, just retribution. Lalo was the best, and worst of them: Much smarter then his cousins, equally skilled in violence, but Lalo had patience. If Lalo were to run out of patience, he would unleash a fírestorm on his enemies, that would even make Tuco, Marco and Leonel shiver in fear!
Jimmy: “I thought I was going to be swallowing condoms filled with heroin” Lalo: “Maybe later” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Seeing Lalo made the power that the Salamancas had, make sense. The twins, Tuco, Hector were all hardcore cartel no doubt, but none had the brains to be running an enormous drug empire. In a franchise with multiple of the best TV villains of all-time, Lalo's presence still stands out.
He's almost a nice guy 😂
Almost. 😂
If you would say hes a good guy, i would say hes a good sociopath🤣
He's a pro at behaving like a nice guy is supposed to.
He is a nice guy. Just don't get in his way, cause he will move through you like you were never there to begin with.
He's a good guy tbh.
Theory (or not) but I’m willing to bet lalo is one of the soul reasons why eladios cartel is so powerful and why the Salamanca name has such a strong reputation in that world. He’s a psychopath but he’s also a genius. With his head for numbers, his fluidity between Spanish and English, his social skills, his planning, his skills with a gun and his physicality. Eladios love for him is also very telling. Such a great character
I think that was exactly the point of the character`s creation, what you`re saying makes a lot of sense, i mean! i was shocked when he just throws those Ferri`s keys to don Eladio!
It’s “sole” and no. He’s a component for sure, but Hector is clearly the core and you’re assuming there weren’t an entire generation of Salamanca’s in the game with Hector that are no longer with us at this point.
He's like a Mexican Joker 🃏 🤣
Joker is portrayed as an incel

Tony Dalton is a national treasure.
one of the few characters in the series that actually has an accurate spanish accent
He was actually in a lot of Mexican novellas before Better Call Saul which honestly was the way to go. Wish they did this with the other Salamancas but they did do an excellent job 👌
@CapitanPeso I think besides Hector's spanish every one of them is fine since the twins dont talk. For Tuco I feel like he was to be portrayed as Mexican-American with the way he talks and act.
Speak American!
@@PeterNguyen-di3nzGus is god awful.
you go "blablabla"...... and they walk outta there... I mean its amazing !! 😁
“They wheeled out actually”…. Awkward silence
1:43 I love this scene for so many reasons but for one big one in particular. When Hector came to talk with Gus, he did it with all his goons and the subtlety and grace of a sledgehammer to the face. Which is fitting, because Hector was a powerful but cranky old man who was try to assert his dominance over Gus. But that was incredibly foolish, because as Gus pointed out making such a scene draws unwanted attention to the Cartel as a whole. But Lalo? He comes in and he plays the "game" just as well as Gus. To an outside observer this is just a hardworking manager and a appreciative customer having a conversation. Lalo plays to the role and comes to Gus' level but he does so in a way that puts Gus slightly on the back foot. And that makes Lalo seem even more dangerous than Hector because he understands and has mastered subtlety. While Hector came in with the subtlety and skill of a thug with a sledgehammer, Lalo comes at it with skill, speed, and precision like a knife fighter
That's interesting, he does have a knack for subtlety. So much so that I'm a bit confused, was Lalo trying to recruit Gus in a coup against Don Eladio? That's what he meant by getting along too well right?
@@hopoff9968 My read is that he was prodding Gus to see what his reaction would be and tease out his motivation. If Gus showed even a little bit of interest in even temporarily burying the hatchet with the Salamancas to take down Eladio a peg or two, then Gus’ motivator is power. If Gus shows no interest and is “fine with the way things are,” ie he’s fine with continuing to feud with the Salamancas, then his motivation is revenge. Either way Lalo will know how to proceed with Gus going forward
nice points you brought up👍
Beautifully thought out comments my man, I agree with all your points
@@hfar_in_the_sky wow thats actually a very insightful comment!
"Te vas a morir." Bravo, Vince.
The man who can made Gus shit his pants
And gus ONLY won because he admitted to himself that lalo had the skill to win him. He hides the gun because he knew That could happen. Like inter vs Barcelona, when Mourinho won the Champions. Playing defense and rely in a little bit of luck.
The unsettling reality is that individuals like Lalo exist in real life-charming, always smiling, cracking jokes, and seemingly friendly, yet lacking a moral compass. They would do anything for their own benefit, though extreme actions like killing might be rare. Nonetheless, they can be ruthlessly opportunistic. In real life, they often become politicians, lawyers, marketers, and religious leaders.
Charles Schwab ova here😂

Lalo is terrifying 😂
Funny cuz it’s my dads nickname/name 😭💀
If Nacho have only Lalo as his boss, he will still be alive, and possibly lalo too. Lalo was as ruthless as Hector and Tuco but he was a good boss if you watch all their interactions
Nacho’s dad ruined everything , if he ran in another city and listened to his son , Nacho would not be forced to work under gus and he could’ve continued the cartel life under a « good » leader.

@@crazyaces4042that bell alsoDRIVES ME CRAZZYY I also think the director purposely made it so annoying. I’m pretty sure it’s for us to feel like Hector. He’s stuck in a crippled body and not being able to communicate.
I’ve seen someone like Lalo before. Can’t say for certain if they were psychopath or not but they sure did act like one. They were very personable and friendly, always smiling, and they ended up charming a lot of those they interacted with. But something was just off. It felt so performative and hollow, like there’s nothing behind their eyes. Then you’d see them act not so friendly. They would partake in behavior that would bring harm to themselves and others. You’d realize they only act pleasant and friendly to manipulate people. And that they knew how to read you much better than you knew how to read them, and they would use that knowledge to their every advantage. They’re relationships with others were just as hollow as they are. They did whatever they want, simply because they could. And it’s fucking terrifying to watch in action. That being said I adore Lalo as a character. As scary as people like him are they are just as fascinating. Tony Dalton nailed this character completely.
Your description of this person sounds like a textbook psychopath.

Very interesting that throughout better call Saul all of Lalos kills are shown off screen to give off the illusion that hes not even that bad especially compared to the other villains in the brba verse until it’s finally shown at the end with Howard no more deception that’s who Lalo truly was and is

The creators wanted Tony Dalton to play Lalo as a more thinking version of Hector and the twins combined, but he convinced them that the version we got would be more likeable and also more terrifying af the same time. Thank God they listened! The crazy thing is that despite everything, if Lalo offered me a job I'd probably work for him 😃😃😃
Bro climbed in the ceiling in 3 seconds flat 💀
great!
Hector was the force to be reckoned with because at the end of the day he was the one who was truly in charge of the Salamanca family, even when he was crippled by the stroke. The fact that with just one look he could get every Salamanca soldier and even worse any of his nephews to do whatever he wanted (all 4 who were 100% devoted to him, specially Lalo who was the most capable and dangerous) says it all.
Lalo killing Howard is one of those OMG moments on TV. The show had you hating Howard because he came across as the posh, stuck-up lawyer that screwed Jimmy, but in the end, he did nothing but try to help him, particularly when his own brother didn't support his law career. When Lalo killed Howard, you had to feel for the dude considering what Jimmy and Kim did to him earlier that day.
Slight jim carrey vibe.😂

One 0f my fav scenes in bb&bcs universe
Behind Lalo's smile and friendly demeanor lies a ruthless and violent man always calculating his next move and mistrustful of everyone including his own blood.
I can't tell if Lalo was amused or offended when Jimmy said he saw the family resemblance with him and Tuco xD
The most legitimate way to describe tuco “he has a huge heart and a serious passion for justice “
I was rooting for him that’s how good he was
I HATE the scene at travel wire where Lalo just glitches into the ceiling. Why couldn’t they have just placed a ladder or something? Make it seem like maintenance or whatever left it there. But instead, they have to make it so Lalo is gifted with supernatural powers. Really took away from the realism of the show.
It's also a bit ridiculous that he decides icing a civie was a good idea, this ain't Mexico bro
you gotta admit he was the best looking Salamanca by far! And the smile.. omg a charmer from way back. Too bad he was CRAZY! 🤣🤣
This is a great fucking video. Especially 16:40 from here
He died smiling because he and Hector were right all a long. I really need to finish this series before i ruin too many good spoilers. I think its too late though.

Somehow the Salamancas are all psychopaths, but he definitely takes the cake.
How do you upload several clips of spanish dialogue with no subtitles.
The way Gustavo is intimidated speaks for itself. Even the fact he kills him he know he was extremely lucky to have done so. Perfect villain: Lalo.
I wish someone would do an edit of this show without the conflict with the lawyers and Saul's brother. Just Saul and the underworld.

Do you think Lalo sees Kim and Jimmy the same way the audience sees the Kettlemens?
