NEW SINGLE WE ARE THE ONES TO FALL OUT NOW!!!
These guys just stepped out of a delorian from 1985 , talent intact.
Less paul, o ya,,,killer tone, Santa Cruz nailing it to the wall o-ya !!!!
Delorean
😂😂😂 damn, so right
Run back fools!
You mean Lambo...
RESPECT to these dudes for their EXTREME, OFF THE DAMN CHARTS TALENT and their 80's style attire.
I've never heard of them, but damn. Skill. Have you heard of Steel Panther? If not, check them out. 80s look and sound. Talented, but funny as hell.
Are they in Santa Cruz California?
@@phasetripper9567 nah Finland
I've honestly lost track of the number of times Ive watched this. ....and here I am again !
me too man. I saved this one and keep coming back to it over and over again. at LEAST once a week
its here I go again...sir!
What I'm most impressed with is besides the mind blowing tapping, shred,...etc is the clarity and accuracy.
Gibson les Paul thats why
@@gixxusmetalman7435 music lessons and lots of fucking hard work and talent that's more why. They'd sound good playing an entry level squier. But yes a proper les paul doesn't hurt either
i am 55y old. i have seen and hear all kinds of metal, hard rock, rock, and others since the start of them. i play guitar since i was 14. i can say that these guys are 2 of the best guitarist i ve ever heard. i think they can play any style of any known guitarist on this planet!
Besides the fact that these two guys just shred the shit out of the fretboard...what I find just as amazing is their LIGHTNING FAST ability to switch back and forth between the rhythm and treble toggle!!! Damn!! Great job guys!!
I have watched this over 100 times. This is guitar perfection!
I miss this duo and this Santa Cruz era so much
80's called and said you brought real music into our Robtic age! Keep it up
Oops, "keep up", oh well... 😭😭😭😪😪😢😢 such a huge loss, have u listened to their new singles? The 1st is nice, the 2nd not so much, and it's SUPER different from old Santa Cruz, cause only Archie stayed, SO SAD BIGGEST MUSIC LOSS EVER
Tocam muito. 🤘🤘
Wow I was just reminded of this comment:) happy to rewatch to the song again
Obviously super talented but also super creative and not just robotic shredding!! Those solos were freakin sick and melodic
How in the hell could anyone not like this
That's probably the LESS IS MORE brigade out there, as they were simply appalled at the obscene display of guitar wankery here. Me, I just loved it. My fav of all 3 STYD volumes.
This is exactly how guitar should be played !!! Way to go !!!
Dyed hair, glam outfit and real talent making its way back into music...history always repeats itself, this time for the better! It was about time
I agree, these dudes have not even been born when glam rock was on the surface. Why try to keep the theater on. I understand Michael Monroe that he has left the style on, he has lived that era. Right now to the barber...playing skills does not change.
Nah dud, good things never repeat
mekkemusic finally some cute glam boy / girls to jerk off too huh ! Those old POISON mags are getting sticky and motley Crüe aren’t as cute as they used to be . Finally a deposit into the spark bank brother ! I’m with ya
Hey it HAD to start somewhere"..IM JUST GLAD ITS BACK!".. sorry this is my dog's page I'm just lovin the music right now" have a great one!✌
Unfortunately, as kick-ass as these guys are, they won't be selling out arenas and have platinum albums and top 40 FM radio singles like a lot of hard rock / metal bands had back in the 80's. Granted, they're a nice and refreshing throwback to a bygone era, but this is as good as it will ever get. Just enjoy it for what it is, because they won't achieve household name status.
Are these guys from the 80s or is this really happening in 2020? If so I am very happy to see this. Insane playing. My Les Paul is calling.
I saw them in 2016 headed Sebastian Bach at Mavericks in Jacksonville. They were awesome. They were originally on a show in vh1 called breaking bands. KZhead it . It was a good show.
Imagine that it was common to see these guys playing in a small club in Finland. Before covid, obviously.
I had to stop the video to throw my guitar out of the window and then continue watching
Kkkk
😂😭😭
🤣💨
Finally, finally actual badass 80s style talent and the looks to match. You just got a fan
Freaking love the '80s Hair bands, hot chicks and heavy metal.
2:19 Paul Gilbert's string skipping exercise!
Yeah lots of recycled 80’s licks in there. Lots of Nuno as well. If that’s what people want to hear shit yeah I’ll pull my pink Ibanez out of storage 🤘🤘🤘
Do it
Archie & Johnnie are GUITAR GODS. This skill level takes nothing but every single second you live and breathe. And then some
Thanks for keeping 80's alive men!! I'll have some more beer... cheers!
not anymore. their U2 Octung Baby now....lol
I literally watch this EVERY time I see it. Then I go grab my Les Paul like I'ma shred like these dudes then I get depressed when I find out really quick that I can't...
That's why I put my les paul in drop D and just groove it out, it's excellent for that.
@Frank Masuzzo Then I hope my mayones doesn't complain to the abuse hotline 😅
Okay. Just discovered these dudes. Went to Amazon and purchased all three releases. No pause. This band is badass. I’m 48, so I lived through the metal of the eighties. Santa Cruz is a decendent if that pop-metal lineage. Hail.
The people who disliked this couldn’t find the tabs
I just pised myself laughing. And it was worth it! These guys can rip!
@Tommy Bangacuci gtfo
😂
i can pretty much play the first part of the riff and licks from listening to it. but yeah im not even gonna try the solo part XD this is so good 2:32 i cant sweep pick for shit
@@Peron1-MC same bro :D
This video is what made me start playing guitar, no kidding. It’s nostalgic rewatching it.
my face just melted.
PLEASE Record this for your next album, would be a kick-ass bonus track!! Sounds F*ING AWESOME!!!!!
These guys are next level awesome. Finland is where the best is coming from. Thanks guys for keeping the 80s torch burning!! I miss it sooo much.
Thank you guys for taking me back to time when I was in your age, when many bands had both- good music and cool image ! KEEP ROCKING🤘☠️
their sound is mindblowing and also love johns guitar
Johnny is great with his playing styles. What he playing is so feel and rough that sound so deep hell.
Perfect blend of arpeggios and pentatonic licks....Outstanding beautiful work 👏 👌 👍
Seen them live several times and immediately astonished. Great band! Make it big!
DAMN! That was KILLER! Would love to see more.
Both guys are incredibly awesome! That second solo is so amazingly bad to the bone. The first is almost as fantastic. Guitar World wake up! These guys need a cover story.
The tone of that second one wow!
Yes the second solo was also much harder to play.
Veeeery nice! Shredlicious 🎸🤯 Love it!
Freaking love it and I'm almost 60 so happy to see this genre still living and breathing in young fine gentleman like you guys
These guys are one of the best live bands i have seen, i saw them on last December and i am gonna see them again on Feb 13th.
These guys are great best stuff I’ve hear in a long time
Shreddy, melodic and groovy; everything I like. Love it !
Amazing!! Glad you guys are keep that kind of music alive. Great work.
OMG this was AWESOME.
Johnny you must come back!
I Love it . 1 of the Best Guitar Performances of all Time . I watched it unlimited Times and still watch it . This is Real Music and Rock and shred.
Anyone who disliked this please stop stealing oxygen
We need more of this stuff!! Shred Till You Drop 2, please?
Сколько раз пересматриваю, столько раз сожалею что распалась такая замечательная группа!!!!
Absolutely love the old school vibe.... outstanding performace and great tune guys.. highly impressive. Hope to hear more of this in the future.
They broke up....
That was absolutely awesome !! Total shred unbelievable playing love the groove.
We need more music like this nowadays!!!
usually people are all hair and no playing or all playing and no hair, but these guys have BOTH
Yep, I love coming back to this video occasionally to her some sick licks. I mostly play modern metal stuff now, but I started with good old hair metal.
Wow you guys. Seriously amazing together. I am so appreciative of what you guys and your band is doing. And old school vibe with your own creative styles.. outstanding dudes.. keep this up. Bravo.
They broke up long time ago
This never gets old ,pure class ,this is the bollocks.
Man that was awesome! I was cruising for some new music, and I might have just found it. LOVE the Les Pauls, great guitar music is on the rise again! way to go guys.
This was my hangover cure for the day :)
These guys are incredible, how have I never heard of them before?
Amazing! The Alexi Laiho influence is strong :D
right?
Archie was in a band with Alexi called “The Local Band” check’em out.
Johnny solo blew my mind
Yeah, it's a shame they split up.
Dennis Karlsson Youre kidding right? What the hell happened?
I think they (Johnny, Tazz and Middy) had some problems wiith Archie, they decided to leave the band just in the middle of a tour so I think it was kinda serious...
Really,Great Guitarist
@@Sharknezz Probably a good thing, sounds like he is the real talent of the two. Some sick slick playing from the second half on out.
Christ. That gave me the chills. \m/
It takes a guitarist to fully understand just how impressive this is. And all in one take.
I listen to this track once a day for the past few months since I first heard it. Still not sick of it by a long shot
I'm most impressed by the speed of the blonde guy's mic switching!
These guys kick ass! That bend at 2:15!!
Makes my fingers bleed watching it
@@dougliolloool9309 how?!? Then you must be new to playing
@@stratomiesniinsaatanasti5250 Not new to paying but was trying to make a funny slapstick remark! It is indeed an insane bend and it could hurt if you were new to playing ha ha
@@dougliolloool9309 sure it could... but i think those guys are using only 10's
@@raddydydy i don't
Dude i'm legit blown away. It kept getting better and better. Incredible!
This is the sickest video on KZhead, these dudes are on fire!! 🔥😎🎸
Man, those were the days....
Mind blowing! I've been playing for 30 years, and if I play for another 30 years I'll never be able to shred like this.
Same but try the downward pick slanting approach both of these players use it. Its really helped my shit picking technique wish I knew about how bad my RH technique was back then.
@@richardofsoski7446 I'm surprised none of those dumbfucks called this as fake? Lol. This is so clean.
Depends how many hrs you practice during those 30 yrs.
johnny parkkonen (the left one) play guitar 12 hrs a day since he was 11/13 (i forgot), and he didnt go to school he just play guitar.
Saw you guys in Denver a few years ago. I was floored. Top notch gentleman!
Awesome musicianship, incredible skills....thank you for bringing it back and keeping it alive. Liked and subscribed!!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘
ive been watched this maybe 40 times since 2019, and this always remind me that i suck at guitar
Stick to it dawg. You'll get it eventually 😎
@@A_LoadedPotato_ yeahh, actually every time i watch this video, i instantly want to practice for 4 hrs lol
Long hair + white sleeveless tee + ripped jeans + burst les paul = Cool
Hell yea!! This kind of guitar playing is a lost art in rock and metal these days.
Incredibly powerful music. They make it look easy.
Outstanding! Great to see such precision playing live in this depressing era of canned backing tracks and lip-syncing. Happy to see some new rock blood out there. Keep it up! Thanks to Dan Wojta for making the introduction.
They should develop this into a full length song! Totally badass from beginning to end! :D
those are some licks from different shredders, nothing really original
@@brotherfiretribe9566 not all of them are licks from diffrent shredders... maybe a couple
Can't stop watching this, it always makes me laugh...in a good way! Just as impressive as their playing is the speed in the use of the toggle switch, particularly in the first solo.
beautiful heady dope goin on here-im loving this i could listen to this night and day
cant wait to see you guys at rock on the range, so talented and such a big fan of the genre. you pull it off perfect. and btw u really need to tour with steel panther!
I would love to see them and Steel Panther together. That would be an awesome show!
i saw steel panther in pittsburgh back in june and it was one the best show ive ever been to, love steel panther. santa cruz would just be amazing for a tour with them
2:33 Jason Becker approves :D
ayeapprove instantly thought of Becker when I heard that part
sweeps were the easiest licks there
Not Jason, Nuno Betancourt
The best I heard this year!!!!!!!!!
Keep them coming guys!!!!! Frigging magnificent!!!!!
I listen to this weekly... at minimum monthly. So sick.
That's better than porn. I've watched it 1000 times.
+Lenin Lover heh true dat :D
+Lenin Lover sameeee
+Lenin Lover FUCK YES
Yeah, me too /m\
+Lenin Lover GUITAR porn. ;D
Ya guys got some sick chops damn!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥
Blew me away speechless! Wow
Fucking unbelievably kick ass. The world needs more of this. Wish I heard of these guys a long time ago.
Una Gran banda, lastima que en una época donde predomina otro cosa... que no se pierda nunca este Rock!!
The 80s are back!! Thanks to god!! Good music again!!
I couldn’t stop watching once it had started
Rest in peace Santa Cruz....
Guns N' Roses on mun lempi bändi! \mm/
Made me smile- awesome guys!
Love it...Gibson guys!!! No Fenders..no tremolo bars...just skill! Hell to the YEAH!!
1:34 Its actually part of a lick of the solo in Get The Funk Out by Extreme played by Nuno Bettencourt. But pretty awesome tho.
Def! You got it.
There's always repetitive licks and influence of other guitar players but the thing is that some guitar players just play them so good they own the lick
1:33 Get The Funk Out arpeggio/sweeps
Def! You got it!
Yeah it is. But every lick by every rock guitarist is a lick by several others. Or 95% at least. Call it being influenced, as long as you aren't directly copying, it's just how it works
I can't stop myself watching this.. . thanks men...this is exactly how I want to sound like.... thanks
Yeeeaahhhhhhhh .... definitely cool guys, who worked their asses of to play amazing. ME adoring YOU - same working class !
I didn't know where you come from, and I thought "these guys sound like the Finnish shredders" (Mikko Salovaara comes to mind, for example), and then I realized why that's so ;). There is something specific about Finnish soloing, the choice of notes and scales I think. It's perfect! Bluesy but not cheesy. Oh and you said in an interview that you don't like your real names, well personally I love the sound of Finnish! Maybe that's because my native language is so harsh, I don't know.
Holy shit these guys are good
Woah, loving that! 🤘
Total machines, Awesome guys!!!
The real name is "we will make you disgusted with guitar" ahah, love u guys
