I am a surgeon (38 years old) and you guys are dead on the money that medicine is old. It’s amazing how the older guys are stuck in their old ways. And even more amazing how critical they are of the younger generation. With stem cells, peptides etc it’s crazy how we can get the body to heal. I am an ophthalmologist and we are using stem cell grafts for pterygium surgery. Makes the recovery almost instantaneous and gives such an awesome result. This just started being used at the end of my residency.

This is awesome and hilarious hearing about your surgery experiences ! My father was an Anesthesiologist (and the general feeling in the medical community is that they are the smartest guys in the room). I also worked in pharmaceuticals for many years and can confirm that. As a cancer survivor, I have had at *least* 15-20 surgeries and the whole going under thing is so weird... Anytime I have a procedure, I try to relish that small moment when the Anesthesia hits before you go black, Lol ! Yes I am a child of the late 60s / early 70s, so yeah... LMAO ! As an aside - prayers up to all the folks in Maui - what a tragedy.

Stoked to see ya guys back! Great talk story session between both of you, discussing alot of this past year's adventures. My input about steroids (I've weightlifted, tons of cardio sports, surf....something every single day and am 49), maybe try just focus on natural foods as much as possible (taking in all your daily servings of fruits/veggies, nuts/seeds, water) and filling your energy levels need for protein as well. The most fit guys around the world I've seen are those guys that live in the country side somewhere living off the land (climbing coconut trees with machetes, carrying bananas, etc....prime example, Jamaican country folk). Anyhow, looking forward to your next podcast! Thank you guys!

Golds gym Venice is called “The Mecca” in the fitness world, because of the amount of high level bodybuilders like Arnold and Lou ferrigno(the original hulk) that considered it their home gym in the 80s. There's two parts to anesthesia from my understanding: one that essentially numbs the pain and one that actual paralyzes you/puts you under. So the people who experience that are people who have gotten enough of the dosage to paralyze but not enough to put them under OR enough to paralyze and put you under but not enough to numb the pain. Or something like that

-thanks for speaking out about Maui - For surfers no need to cycle uses a small trt dose of testosterone 120-180mg a week of test for endurance and recovery and 1-2ius a night of growth hormone for recovery sleep and injury healing, too much test or something stronger and endurance goes down, you’ll get stronger lose fat and gain muscle even at the same weight if you want to grow on it just eat more - CrossFit is fun but so much risk of injury
@matthewj98326 ай бұрын
Ps I know how growth hormone sounds but it’s 1000x more mild than the media hypes, this is the doses a “would” 😉 do especially as I get older

You guys have had an amazing summer, busy, so sad about Lahaina. I can refer you to a book written by a Lady named Lee Dubelle, the book is called " Proper food combining works". Heal up guys, so we can watch more great surfing.

Hungary has a treaty with the kingdom of Hawaii. It’s fitting that they would kokua in our time of need
Missed you boys, lets gooooooooo!!!!!
Or something like that
Hey I woke up during surgery with my abdomen open. They changed Anesthesiologist during surgery and had an "oops" Not a great experience but in a few minutes I was back out, to complete the surgery. Glad you didn't end up with blood poisoning from that dirty hospital you went to first.
been watching both you guys pod, but missed the nate and koa together. reunited and it feels so good
I enjoy seeing the sights and sounds of Hawaii more than those cool surf trips overseas. They’re good, but these are special and unique.
Finally back, let’s gooooooo!!🍻
Boyz are back 🤙
-thanks for speaking out about Maui - For surfers no need to cycle uses a small trt dose of testosterone 120-180mg a week of test for endurance and recovery and 1-2ius a night of growth hormone for recovery sleep and injury healing, too much test or something stronger and endurance goes down, you’ll get stronger lose fat and gain muscle even at the same weight if you want to grow on it just eat more - CrossFit is fun but so much risk of injury
Ps I know how growth hormone sounds but it’s 1000x more mild than the media hypes, this is the doses a “would” 😉 do especially as I get older
Good to see you guys both on the mend. So sad to hear about the Lahaina people's fate.
Those reels of Namibia are sick. It looks like another planet.
Legends
Between the Swells - Back in action!!
hearing you guys talk about certain workouts feeling like a form of meditation, narrowing the focus, etc. - im surprised i haven't heard you mention exploring rock climbing / bouldering as a form of exercise/expression.
The best thing about recovering from an injury is that the next one is waiting 🤙😶
Dude you should venture north of all that traffic from LA south. There's more traffic on the north shore than a lot of coastal central cal north. Plus the waves are bigger and sometimes better.
Good to have the podcast back! Nate where did you go surfing at 🇨🇷 Costa Rica?
finally! wooo
Come to the North East for Lee looks like Sep 10-18 there's going to be some super sessions somewhere🤙🤞🤙
Looked like "cellulitis" in the elbow. I had a blown up elbow back in Marine Corp Boot-camp.I was hospitalized 3 days for IV anti-biotics. Be careful out there man, MD ON CALL!!!!

Missed this lol
FINALLY!
Anatoly is a classic watch for power lifting 😂
I remember my experience seeing a doctor in Sumatra. He leant on his motorbike in the surgery. 😂😂
That Maui story is crazy. It just sounds like pure evil.
There’s a movie called “Awake” and it’s entire plot is about going under for a major surgery and you’re awake the whole time! Such a good flick
Good to have you legends back. When live pod with chat?
NSBR 4 L.

@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd A live podcast which has a chat feed has nothing to do with the WSL you dope
You guys have had an amazing summer, busy, so sad about Lahaina. I can refer you to a book written by a Lady named Lee Dubelle, the book is called " Proper food combining works". This is an awesome way to eat. You can eat the foods you eat now, you can always have a full stomach, but still trim off the excess fat. You feel different when you eat this way. Heal up guys, so we can watch more great surfing.
You don’t need to read a book to realize this, it’s pretty simple, all about amount you eat not what u eat
Hey it cost $$$$ most insurance is not paying for that Koa your lucky you have the means to utilize those procedures it will be 20 years before thats mainstream hopefully sooner. Can you imagine all the stem cell stuff they will be able to do mind blowing
You guys should try rock climbing!!! That would be so great!
DMSO and Iodine or MMS is the best thing to have with you for the gashes. You also have your own urine to pee on wounds and even broken bones. If you're ever out in the middle of no where you can pee on a piece of cloth and wrap any wound or broken bone with it.
I've just got injured as result of watching the first 5min of the podcast lol 😅
Jeez my chronic neck pain had just pain started to kick in as well LoL
Another podcast now please, I need it to survive
Plz come swell bend the Carolina’s for the hurricane swell
Koa felt violence in his booty....classic 😆
Vibes! Curious to know: do either of you use sauna/steam/ice baths or cold rooms for muscle recovery? Lots of extra benefits, too (cardiorespiratory, immune system, cognitive function, longevity - and a more natural and less invasive process). Anabolics, don't do 'em!
I had open heart surgery. And when I woke up the first time, I was in such discomfort they decided to put me back under. That was a weird sensation.
