Have this exact same car, mine has stock exhaust though, still sounds good but this is better by far.

Wow.I haven't cut mine yet.I've got a dinan 5 with stock exhaust.but I can hear it whistle as it is gathering air.on the beltway the car is very adequate.a540/6 with the chip is a formidable race no matter what your driving.I've ran against a couple super cars a few miles.....

I wanna know how you fit the right side of the exhaust cause I look at mine and it seems like there is no room at all
David Pena a straight pipe runs directly underneath the tire well. The well is modified from the bottom right side inverted just enough for the pipe to run underneath and out. Requires no cutting, spare tire will still fit perfectly fine and in place as before.
I have a E39 M5, and I must say, this sounds awesome! I have a short audio clip on my channel of my some light revs of my M5
i don't think you're gonna attract many people to your channel with 'light revs'

What's the fuel economy on these 540s? I've got a 530i auto and it's a thirsty old tank.

I have the same car and want to do this mod, what do you recommend me, did you notice the HP increase or torque?
+jaime chap probably lost some low end torque but feels a little stronger in the higher end rpm.

I mean how did you fit the quads exhaust cause the 540 has spare tire so theres no place to put the other exhaust on the passenger side? what did you did there? did you cut that spare tire undercarriage holder? or what?
@@jaimechapa418 i have the 530i and it had the same issue, i just put a pipe under the spare and jacked the car up b that, easy no cutting

No cutting needed, piping runs right under the spare tire and bends up at the diffuser
How are these? I'm looking at getting a 2002 540i with automatic transmission with 140K kms.
+Peter Pulciani to tell you the truth they are good and have nice power but the maintenance is ridiculous. Im talking thousands

hey I heard if you put quad exhausts on a 540 you have to cut off the spare tire wheel well... is that what you did here?

No dummy tips. The X pipe split goes to both sides equally

@@Steelhead158 so you mentioned that you didn't have to cut your spare tire well. Could you explain? I thought this was required to install the tips on the right hand side of the car . . . .
@@masscomnet Technically yes, if you want to fit a muffler on the right side. The tips are connected to 2.5” piping that is ran directly underneath the tire well on the right side. It is bent up at a 45 and straightened out at the connection point. Spare tire still sits intact.
