Redeeming Love Cast Interview with Abigail Cowen and Tom Lewis

I sat down with Abigail Cowen and Tom Lewis to talk about their new movie, Redeeming Love based on the best-selling novel.
REDEEMING LOVE is a powerful and timeless love story that takes place against the backdrop of the California Gold Rush of 1850. The story centers on Angel (Cowen), who was sold into prostitution as a child. She has survived through hatred and self-loathing until she meets Michael Hosea (Lewis) and discovers there is no brokenness that love can’t heal. The story reflects the redemptive power of unconditional and sacrificial love with characters and circumstances relevant to the contemporary world.
Nthibah Pictures, Mission Pictures and Pinnacle Peak Pictures announce the release date of the highly-anticipated film REDEEMING LOVE, distributed by Universal Pictures in U.S. and Canadian theaters for January 21, 2022. Directed by D.J. Caruso (xXx: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE), it stars Abigail Cowen (“Fate: The Winx Saga,” “Sabrina”), Tom Lewis (GENTLEMAN JACK), Logan Marshall Green (UPGRADE, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, PROMETHEUS), Famke Janssen (X-MEN, TAKEN), Nina Dobrev (xXx: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE, VAMPIRE DIARIES) and Eric Dane (“Euphoria,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” THE LAST SHIP, X-MEN). REDEEMING LOVE’S official trailer and key art are released as the anticipation increases amongst millions of fans.

But, yeah. I wish I had the guts to see it. But also glad I was hone to be able to let all the emotions out and not be in public.

  • My favourite part was when Paul finds her in San Francisco? And when he talks to her, he realises why she left and the sacrifice she was trying to make. (spoiler alert) when he realises, cries and asks for forgiveness, that made me tear up and then another scene after that with Michael made me tear up as well. I actually enjoyed the movie but I liked the book more. It made me want to read the book of Hosea again, just as the book did.

  • The movie is amazing! I was so moved by Michael's faith in the Lord and his pure love for Sarah. After watching it I started reading the book and it is even more magical and beautiful. The movie somehow did not portray the depth of the faith compared to the book, the bond between them was tighter in the books as well and how they interact with God, and the names Michael gave to Sarah throughout all hold such meaning, it's sad that they werent able to put it on the movie. 2 hrs wasnt enough for this story 🥺😔 I need a series hahahaha!

  • This is loosely based on Hosea in the old testament. Hosea was told by God to marry a prostitute like the book and movie. Hosea's wife did leave him and he took her back. Hosea symbolizes God's unconditional love and being forgiven for our sins which we all have in various degrees. Yes a very adult theme but older teenagers could view. There are bed scenes but body parts are hidden somewhat. I have seen twice so far and need to read the book. By the way the singer sounding like Adele at the end is instead a Christian singer Lauren Daigle whose voice is similar. If you are prepared to be emotional you will love this. Take Kleenexes if you think you will need. More of theses type need to be made. By the way the language is pretty clean mostly for a modern made movie

    @rogerphillips2063@rogerphillips20632 жыл бұрын
    • yeah so loosely based it’s hard to make the connection unless you are told their is a connection. oh and you might wanna look into Lauren daigle because she has some very questionable theological beliefs

    • @@emilybowers245 Well, I never actually expected it to be like the book of Hosea, as Francine Rivers only took it as an inspiration for Redeeming Love. I didn’t expect it to be written like her Lineage Of Grace Trilogy where she really kept the stories close to the Scriptures as much as possible. But nevertheless, her books made me return to God and actually read and learn from the Bible, and I’m glad and thankful for that.

  • I think the movie missed the whole point of the book. The book is that she hated God because of her mother. She felt no feelings. Then through Michaels belief, she started changing her mind. And then she had an experience lead by God and committed her life to Him. The movie barely touched on it to if you didn’t read the book, you would barely even notice that aspect. If you’re a huge book lover, the movie sucks. Also way too much nudity. They could have done it way more tastefully.

    • While I agree the messaging is poor I read the book 10 years ago before I knew Christ. This story is about a women needing a man to tell her she is worthy and it's not like the bibal story in any way. Now if she was a real person who was in trafficing not by choice she wouldn't need to feel guilty, cheating however is absolutely a sin. But only god can forgive and redeem a person. This movie makes it seem like the perfect man will come along fix all your issues and life will be wonderful.. So very false.. Only God can help you love yourself .

      @Kwildcat13@Kwildcat132 жыл бұрын
    • You seem to know very little about physical and emotional abuse. A woman who has been beaten down and made to feel ashamed may have chances to escape, but she won't take them because she can't. When you have been abused, your abusers create a "mental" cage for you. You feel hopeless and in despair. And there are always people like you to tell women who have been in this situation that they should be ashamed, are worthless, and that it's their fault for being in that situation. Victims of abuse feel too dirty and ashamed to leave because in their minds, they are not worthy of being loved and no one will ever accept them. She was very much lost because only the grace of God could redeem her life.
