  • The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. I have $100k that i like to invest in a non-retirement account, any advice on that?

    • I would avoid index funds, mutual funds, and specific stocks for the time being. Right now, the best option is a fixed income of five percent. Put money aside for the times when the market really starts to bounce back.

    • 45% of Americans do not invest in the stock market because of lack of guidance. Every year you don't invest, you are falling behind. I’m hitting numbers in the stock market I used to dream of… Going from $50k to $600k in my portfolio is surreal all thanks to insights from my financial advisor.

  • Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. These results include effects on the markets, such as price declines and sharp increases in inflation, as well as bank failures. I wonder if the sudden increase in interest rates will help value investors or if it would be wiser to stay away from the stock and financial markets for the time being.

    • To "buy the dip" It will be profitable in the long run. However, investors should be wary of the bull run. It is advisable to connect with a skilled adviser to fulfill your growth objectives and prevent mistakes. High interest rates typically result in lower stock prices.

    • It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.

    • Interesting! Good day! Although I'm new to investing, I've heard that now is a wonderful time to buy. I have some money in my bank account that is just sitting there, and I really want to make it work for me, especially with the current rate of inflation being so high. Do you have any knowledge about this coach who supports you? I'd like to research them and find out more.

You realize all the boomers are retiring now so the budget defits are exploding. Everything looked fine so long as the large baby boom was working and contributing but now that the large group is on the dole out all the programs are failing because that generation failed to adequately fund the programs for their retirement when the demographic pyramid inverts. They had the illusions the programs were solvent because of their large corhort but it was just an illusion that allowed them to vote for tax cuts while they were still working because they kicked the problems down the road.

    • If I was single and had no kids, I'd be rich already. Have a family makes it harder because you have people to take care of. That's an additional 20-30k minimum to supply the needs yearly. Plus, all the bills and rent doesn't make it easy. It's deserved for people who want to make a commitment to being married and having children. We should have tax cuts. Just like a business that provides hospitality gets a tax cut. I wish I knew what I know now, I'd rich already as a person that was single. I don't really think anyone single should have trouble saving.

    • @timogul the majority of the tax revenue is created by personal income tax. Most rich people are able to write that off, any business owner can write their taxes off. You can actually write off your employees salary. An overwhelming majority of the government's money comes from the working people. If I were able to show you the pie chart in this comment I would. Just because someone doesnt pay $30,000 in tax doesn't mean they should have no say in where their money goes. It's the small 4,000 here and $4,000 there that add up from all of the personal income workers that make up a significant part of the government's money. We might as well not even bring up business/corporate taxes because most businesses write off everything that they have anyways. I know because I'm a contractor and write things off all the time.

    • You’re right they both spend too much. But it seems our deficits shrink when the Dems are in office and increase when R’s take control. That’s ironic given we always blame democrats for deficits. I’m somewhere in the middle. Lend Ukraine money to fight our enemies. Maybe spend less at home. Give tax breaks to families so people can afford to raise children. I’m kinda pissed that Trump tax cuts expired for me but not for Jeff bezos, Elon musk, and all the ceos of oil and insurance companies.

      @AR-rn8ok@AR-rn8ok26 күн бұрын
    • @@Mellow4202 I totally agree with you that loopholes should be closed that allow corporations and the wealthy to dodge their tax responsibilities. There's a simple answer to that, put more Democrats into office. That said, income tax is factored into salary overall, so it balances out. It's not like if income tax were abolished then everyone would make the same amount of money and pocket the difference, if not for that expected drain on people's wallets, companies would just pay them less, so effective income would stay flat (eventually, this would obviously take time to balance out). Again though, _whatever_ amount someone puts into the tax revenues, they make back much more than that in government benefits, whether they recognize that or not. If they put more in, they would make even more back.

      @timogul@timogul26 күн бұрын
    • The loopholes provide incentives to invest which bolsters the economy all around. As far as getting more than you put in, you would have to give specific examples. Middle class Americans are already strapped for cash due to the poor state of the current economy.

  • I pay about 30k a year in taxes. I would be happier paying for the American College Fund foundation to help people excel with better jobs. However, oweing money at the end of the year and watching "slackers" and welfare recipients splurge other peoples taxes is just awarding people with other peoples money because they dont try hard enough. We NEED better education, education about choosing the right education, and education about making the right choices to excel.

    • Poor people actually pay the least taxes. The higher your tax bracket, the more you pay. For example, a person that makes $20,000 a year only pays taxes on $6,000 of that 20K after the 14K standard deduction is taken out…not to mention only poor people qualify for the Earned Income Tax credit, this tax credit ranges from $632 to $7,380 depending on how many kids they have…Then you get another tax credit if you’re a student, not to mention that 14K standard deduction goes up $2,000 for every child you have. There are some people in the hood getting $10,000 tax returns.
