@@tylerrussell6779 I live near the Lake County Speedway in Painesville, Ohio, which was Nascar's smallest sanctioned oval (1/5 mile, I think). Haven't been there for a few yars now but many a Friday night figure-8 races. And they wet down the track beforehand just in case it's not insane enough.
Figure 8 train races are up there.

This is basically pre-1985 NASCAR Modifieds, a time where there were zero rules.
Reminds me of when I would get all my hotwheels togeather have them race.
Same with my custom paint jobs on almost all of them. I use to hit with hammers and shit trying to make them looked wrecked but man it was hard when I was 11 now I'd use a vice to help but I'm 32 years old now so ya know.

@@suchafoker1329 very vulgar name, it's awesome. The ones with the high plexiglass are a unlimited class. Technically the car is called a late model but in the unlimited class. Helps keep them planted in the turns.

Bill Pritzel did it back around late 1980s at Hales Corners Speedway in Wisconsin. (Track is gone now) There might be videos of it.

@@saltybildo4415 I don't know why these guys are using them on asphalt but they work great on clay, the harder you throw the car sideways in the corner, the more air piles up on the side of it. Makes it faster through the turn and harder to spin out. Bill Pritzel was hard to beat so others went with them where they could. Many tracks wouldn't allow the use of them.

Those are Super modifieds. When your only doing lefts just sidehack all the weight to that side. The alcohol ones really scream.
Look up ISMA and Oswego Speedway. If any of these cars are running anywhere close to you, do yourself a favor and check them out. I worked on a supermodified crew for 10 years and they are the most insane pieces of machinery you'll ever see.

Too bad 6x wasn't more patient early on. Looked fast.. Wasn't the same after the front end damage.
We use to race panel late models on dirt..didnt have to lift in corners..so damn fast...

I used to go to Hudson Speedway when I was a kid. I remember a guy going off the back stretch into the woods, and you couldn't see him, but you could see the trees shaking as the car bounced off of them. I also remember more than one fist fight after on track incidents. So much fun to watch.

Ricky Douglas, my neighbor, did that in the late 70's... and uyeah , I remember the fights between pits... cops were there every Saturday night lol.
I did as well and remember seeing a guy clear the fence on the River side once! This would've been maybe mid-late 60's.

Yep. At one here in town before a police station and 3 housing developments were built within tire shred distance there was a forrest. Id regularly see em go off into the tree line XD no fences

AJ Foyt in his '77 Coyote (both the racecar and engine built by Foyt) 8.) Steve Kinser rounding out the field in a Winged Sprint.

Lol the pikes peak suzuki and the 700mph glitch on the test track was my money maker.

@@thevalley2008 i never tried the 1000mph draft glitch. Ive got 900 drafting with 2 suzukis before, its pretty hard. Gt3 was my favorite.
@@____MC____ I started on gt2. I remember like yesterday the first time I unlocked that skyline drag car, I was hooked from there. I stopped when gt sport came out.... I rather them nerf the graphics and bring back the 3000+ cars ;)
@@____MC____ I do remember, the pikes peak pair was a blue one, and a red one being slightly faster. In the gt2 any car that could reach 250 could do the glitch, So both pikes peak ver. Can do it the Toyota gt1 and the two drag car from Nissan, the skyline and the Silva. I almost got the Nissan gtr road ver. Close to 250, it had the power, but it doesn't have enough rear down force, and the racing ver. Had the down force, but limited in power.......

That was cool. The #15 Late Model reminded of the Open Comp cars that ran at Mesa Marin Raceway in the Late 70's to Mid 80's.

The sideboards are rad. Most clubs and tracks have banned them due to the cost. At some tracks, LM with sideboards didn't have to let up, putting up crazy fast times. Pushing all that down force took a lot of power, and would tear up engines$$. They are clear so that all drivers can see the track.
Suuuuuper cool. I ran RC dirt latemodels with sideboards and even those were flying compared to the "stock" class. So cool seeing the sideboards on a real car

This looks to be a 1/4 mile. Freedom factory is a 3/8 mile.
The supermods were always going to be the fastest cars in the field, but it's wild to see how they have to tip-toe it behind everyone else 'cause they can't afford to beat an' bang. Soon as a supermod gets by a car the acceleration, even on such a short stretch is 3x any other car in the field.
The craziest thing is that wasn't even a big block car lol
The 6x was fast but he was driving like a weapon.
I watched S1apSh0es video on Super Modifieds and this is what I imagined the field looked like back then, but with 1960's cars.
6x was completely at fault for the first wreck. Either there is some unspoken rule I don't know or he just didn't let off and shoved him all the way into the wall.

Run what ya brung are always entertaining. Years ago they did it at local tractor pull, I didn't stick around but one guy brought out his dodge dulley another got out his frieghtliner. And the guy with a 2 engine modified tractor was going to drop a third engine on after his regular class.
Some are trying to win a race,some are taking the kids to soccer practice.
Was wondering in the beginning if it was a reverse grid. Was pretty obvious the 01 SM was the fastest car out there before the white flag even dropped. Super fun watching him carefully pick his way through all the mobile detritus! That 6X though! Too bad he wrecked...that sideboard was obviously doing the job. No diminishing returns on massive inside grip apparently!

Funny mix of cars aside, this is really nice audio quality of auto racing ambiance. I could loop this for hours!
For all the people asking what the cars with scaffolding are, I’m no exactly sure, we use to call those I-mods when the run on dirt in northern Indiana but back when my track was still paved we called them I miss but we didn’t have the outlaw late model bodies just the modifieds with them

For those wondering the giant clear "billboards" help with cornering in a left turn ring. Not only does it help with the aerodynamics of the air that would be coming from the left side while turning, but it goes high up since the downforce on the right wheels (which help with reducing understeer) is force x distance. Meaning the taller the "wall", the more force the same air pushing higher up that wall will create multiplicatively. Although yes it does look goofy as hell. Also I'm no expert on this stuff I'm just making some assumptions based off my knowledge as a mechanical engineer. If you know better you're more than welcome to correct me here.

@@ReconRider well a wind tunnel is going to show more the effects of aerodynamics in a "straight line". It would probably be pretty turbulent, but that's not as much of a factor on tracks like these as other things.
I had way more fun watching this than this weekends grand prix... as a verstappen fan.

Those little sprints are set up perfect for short ovals. Engine on the inside behind front axle, short wheel base, and wide with fixed aero.
Now I wanna go ahead and drive on up there to watch this October!
This was really well filmed, followed the action much better that we usually see in handheld video. Wild race and I have never seen anything like the crazy aero structures on those two cars.

I raced here a long time ago, (late 80's) My Brother Wade, tore this place up when he was active here! The memories.... A small tornado ripped thru one day, took the announcers raised booth down, (yes, they were in it) CRASH! Ohhh the memories.
