Dad and I both sold our Mtn sleds and bought Expeditions he bought the 850 Extreme and I bought the 900 turbo R. The snow was good but was a little to white out to ride in the high country we hung down low in the trees.
Gotta love the Expedition SE 900 Act Turbo R. Got mine in November and managed to find the time to put about 700 miles on it so far around the Fairbanks area. I was on the Steese Highway out by Eagle Summit and pegged it to see what the machine would top out at. 120mph! Wow
I enjoy watching your videos very much. You guys always make things look fun, even if it's work. Keep the videos coming, and I will keep watching. Look forward to the cabin videos and finishing up with the family cabin
I’m glad you like the videos. We were supposed to be at the cabin this weekend but it was -36 here today
I'm jealous... I'm in Pa and we have no snow whatsoever. I picked up a 2012 ski doo expedition 1200 se last year and got to ride one weekend in Canada for a few hundred miles and that was it. I'm ready to take the old girl out and have some fun.
I added a full size shovel to my gear to prepare for when I bury the SWT. Didn’t get the Turbo but I’m sure loving that 900ACE so far for hauling to our cabin in the Talkeentna’s. Hills are really fun trying to go from a 15” to 24” on side hilling. Looking forward to more cabin trip videos from your crew.

If bend the muddflap upp aganst the luggage rack with a strapp. The snow go right back insted in too the tunnel. And you end up backing a lot further. Or change too the Lynx Brutal track 60mm luggs, Many Expedition in Sweden converted too 60mm lugg track.
I’m thinking about getting the brutal track for spring riding. In the early winter most of my riding is done pulling sleds to my cabin on hard pack trails. The only thing with putting the brutal track on is I’m wondering if the drivers will ratchet when you get in that deep wet snow. I here the swt are having problems with the track ratcheting
If you lock the flip in down position you can avoid some ratchet on the drivers. The abrutal dosen’t have flip. High hp plus track with traction Will be hard on the drivers.

The turbo valve sounds mean!
Cantwell has a lot of hidden gems depending on the time of year and the amount of snow. There are a few old trapper cabins you’d never see most years but on occasion you come up on them because the wind blew the snow away. Lots a great riding areas there.
Yes there is I think in the future I’m going to venture a little farther south of the igloo
Im gonna hit up cantwell prolly in february, not doin a day trip cuz its 3 hrs just to get out there.

Open up the limiter strap a bit, when you feel it bogging, get the front in the air and crank it around to the down direction!!!
Very good, I ordered one of those today curious if I can somewhat keep up with mountain sleds. looks like you sorta can lol.
I think it will be just fine this snow had no base and the kids were one 174’s and 165’s so not really a good comparison

This was really fun to watch! You guys have serious snow! Wondering how big are the paddles on your track and do you have big studs? Did you put wider skis or skins on your skis, as well?
My machine has a 1.8” lug on the track no studs. I am running the stock skis

How much better would an SWT do in the condition in this video?

So is majority of vid the expedition 24 or 20 inch with 1.5 or is it extreme 20 1.8? Extreme is pretty good in the deep and moderate inclined stuff
My sled the one in the video is a 20” expedition se 900 turbo r with the 1.8 dad has the 850 extreme. this snow didn’t have much of a bottom that’s why I was struggling
Are you going to buy a linq box for the machine? I am trying to figure out an after market option for mine, Milwaukee pack out, cooler, tote or something. Hard to find something that fits good.
I bought the SE so it came with the box I just didn’t have it on that day. I know the box is expensive but I think it is worth it

I have zero mtn experience, but would rolling your sled over when it was stuck have been an option instead of digging it out? I think I saw that solution some time back on a sno mo vid. Maybe that windshield is a bit big for that.
I’ve rolled sleds over before, but usually only do that if I absolutely have to.
Nevermind I see on the thumbnail for vid. Yours is expedition. Is it 20 or 24 ?
We both have 20” tracks and both are 1.8” lugs I’m thinking about getting the Lynx Brutal 2.5” track on it for spring mtn riding. Most of my early winter riding is on packed down trails back and forth to my cabin

It weighs 700 dry and yes when it decides to get stuck you have to turn out way sooner then what I’m used to on my mountain sled.
Can't stand my 900 scandic in powder. Even with 20" wide it has issues
Do you have the turbo r it makes a big difference. I had the 22 expedition 20” wide 900 na last year it was a dog in the deep snow. This sled got stuck but that snow had no bottom and was pretty deep. The other sleds in the video were my sons on 174” and 165’s with 3” lugs so not really a fair comparison. This sled way out performs my old expedition but doesn’t come close to my mtn sled
