I hope you can enjoy this format of the Divine Office of Compline. It is the last of 7 Offices of the day for the Monks and Nuns. Their days work and life is fitted around these Offices and each service is beautifully set for the time of day. Example at Vigil's we can show God our willingness to praise him in the very early hours 3:30am when most are asleep and the office of Compline is our final prayers before retiring, where we can ask God to protect us while we sleep. It is a wonderful structure for life, even if this modern day world that fights this type of devotions as old and antiquated. I have found that the old ways can be the best, even if they are demanding effort to complete.
I cannot follow all of the hours but try to do Lauds at 8am and Compline at 7:30 pm and Vespers if possible at 5pm.

Simple and beautiful. This has brought me solace for years, and got me interested in Catholicism, which led me eventually to becoming orthodox. Thank you for the part you played in my conversion to the fullness of the faith in this apostolic form. In Christ! In Rochester, NY, we have Compline the first Sunday of each month from October to May. It is done under the conducting by the head of the Voice Department and sung at Christ Church, on East Avenue. Those that chant/sing are 96% Eastman School of Music students. It is both beautiful and Prayerful. A nice end to the day. God Bless all of you.

Hi Jim The abbey is mount St. Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire England. It is not the monks singing they are much better than this. This is me with 3 overlapped recordings. I did the recording. It did take a long time for me to get it to work. But I wanted people to be able to follow the office completely and this is what I came up with. Brian

I have used this a number of times before going to bed. I like it. One small suggestion: Add English words to Salve Regina. It will help those who don't understand Latin.

I know what you mean when you say singing is a great way to pray, it is how I found God in the first place, hearing the monks at Mount St Bernard Abbey singing every day, was so uplifting and beautiful, it guided me to a more prayerful life. I still manage to do the night office every night. Here is a link that might also help you more scope. www.universalis.com you might have to copy and paste it in, it gives you all the Offices of the day, but alas no singing you have to do that part yourself :) Vespers should be ready in a few weeks, I have had a cold and my voice went a bit croaky. @@youthworker62 Learn Latin. It is the sacred language of the Catholic Church. Monastics always learned Latin, before monasteries were destroyed by Vatican II.
