Lou Ferrigno was quite underrated as an actor. He simultaneously conveyed anger, confusion, sympathy, and helpfulness all without saying a word.
In an Interview; Lou said it's called Pana acting. As there is no dialogue when he becomes the Hulk.
Well none except growls and roars.
Though the growls and roars were done by Ted Cassidy and later by Charles Napier (not by Lou) in the tv series.
A master thespian.
very good comment; I agree with you
The Hulk sharing a pop and a smile. It’s the little things in life.
it is a good one
It would have been weird if the episode, at the time, was sponsored by Coca-Cola or Pepsi
I just said the same thing!
Made no sense because it would calm him down and he would turn back into David.
@@fromthefather8349 The whole premise of the show makes no sense so why should the Hulk sharing a soda with someone be any different?
David might've had a raging spirit that dwelled within him, but deep down, he had the heart of a true hero!
The Hulk Drinking a Soda with him is oddly heartwarming lol
Remember the episode where Hulk drank some whiskey. He spit it out into a fire where chicken was cooking. It got burnt to a crisp. 😂🤣
the smile and the cheers really makes the moment. The Hulk needs to hang around more people who get him.
Ricky seems more bewildered by The Hulk than afraid of him. While The Hulk seemed to like the grape soda I envision him as a Mountain Dew guy.
It would be awesome if he became the face of mountain dew.
I'm more of a cherry coke guy.
😂😂😂Is that because he’s green?
Red bull lol
🤪BURRRRRRPP!!!😋 😆Hahahahahahahahahaha!!🤣
I love this series just as much at 52 as I did at 8 ! Love you always Mr. Ferrigno and RIP Mr. Bixby.

He maybe a giant, and green, but deep down he's such a loving caring person, you can see it in his eyes, long live the hulk, such an epic series.....
Excuse me, can you please rephrase your comment? The words Green and Giant in your comment are making me feel hungry for Green Giant vegetables!!
@@mommieragdollmaidjennifer5192 I'm not so sure you'd wanna eat the hulk though 😂🤣
I do agree with you on that one. These series were much better than The Hulk in The MCU today.
@@teralynperez95 I remember watching the hulk as a young boy, back then when it used to be on a Friday evening, tv was natural back then, entertaining, and real
@@joshuaedwards4536 My mom did too. I know you may be way older than I am me already turning 20 but I remember my mom watching this all the time when I was younger. She just recently bought the whole seasons and watching them all over again.
I don't care what anybody says, this is brilliant 😂😂
I wonder what they told the insurance adjuster when asked about the damage the Hulk does to property
@@brianmbaker57 Probably told them the boys in the white coats are coming for them, and to go quietly.
If Ricky passed out wouldn’t the carbon monoxide killed him by then?
I love how this guy accepts Hulk. He’s like “let me show you how to open this”
When hulk drank it and smiled that made me laugh
If I saw the Hulk drinking beer, I'd cackle explosively loud, I would awaken my elderly neighbors!!
Me too! 😂😂😂
I smiled and laughed - it was touching!
Me too
@@mommieragdollmaidjennifer5192 Your neighbors would probably be too hard of hearing to know what's going on.
Loved Hulk's smile... Lou was great at acting without talking. His facial expressions were excellent
The hulk was compassionate and always had a good heart
That's right. When he raged it was at the right people for the right reasons. Hulk wasn't evil because David wasn't evil.
These moments I wish David would give the hulk credited, He did save lives, and got him out of life and death situations.
It’s not that he doesn’t appreciate what he does while in hulk state, it’s more of he’s always afraid that he may kill someone or go on a rageout
@@kekethedon which is silly because he’s not a killer
@@savannahhague4989 true but he always fears he may go too far and kill
@@kekethedon it’s too bad they didn’t make an episode where he talks to his other half. It’d give them a happy ending
@Savannah Hague there was an episode where they met in a desert with David Banner being in a cage and the Hulk trying to grab him...
All of this was before cgi but they sure as hell made it look real
@@hypnodance it still looked real as hell!!!
😱AAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!😱
I think real special effects is better than CGI anyday
umm.... it was real. CGI is a cartoon.
Aww! This is the only time I ever heard the Hulk speak. He said "green". And he enjoyed a can of soda with this young man he saved. Precious.
The Hulk was no where near as destructive in this show as he was in the comics. He also has no trouble doing the right thing on this series - it seems he always knows who the good guys and bad guys are.
Yea, they wanted to steer away from the Hulk that we know of as much as they could so that it could be aired for television
@@deepnthought. Actually it was more for stylistic reasons rather than for rating reasons. According to interviews, Kenneth Johnson, the writer and producer of the series, decided to change the plot for two reason: A). As you previously mentioned, to translate it into a live-action show that was more believable and acceptable to a wide audience. And B). he actually disliked comics and thus felt it best that the show be as different from the source material as possible. Now normally when you have somebody adapt a work of fiction who doesn’t like the source material is a bad thing (I mean look at Exorcist II: The Heretic and see how that turned out!) But thankfully in this case the result was the exact opposite and in fact the series turned out to be pretty fantastic. I think it also helps that the series was produced by Universal who already had a background making sympathetic monsters, as they produced many of the classic monster movies of the 1930s and 1940s, including the famous 1931 film adaptation of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, one of the characters that inspired The Hulk in the first place! In fact, if you compare Boris Karloff‘s portrayal of Frankenstein to Lou Ferrigno’s as the Hulk in many of the episodes, you do notice a lot of similarities in the innocence and good nature they show. especially in this clip where the hulk and Ricky are getting to know each other so to speak. In Frankenstein of course, there’s the famous scene where the monster playing with the little girl in the pond which gives you the same feeling. Hell, even Bill Bixby’s portrayal of Dr. David Banner, a man who’s trying to control a monster inside of him, is similar to that of Larry Talbot in The Wolf Man. If The Hulk was made during the Universal Monster era with Lon Chaney Jr. playing Dr Banner and Boris Karloff playing The Hulk, I’m sure it would have been the same thing.
@@ryandevan2793 This Show is clearly a classic Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde Story, wich makes sense cause that's exactly what the incredible Hulk is based on. I think thats the main reason why this show actually works. It doesnt touch any of the source material from the Comics but it embraces the Jekyll/Hyde storytelling and was very creative with this concept

Mickey Jones without a beard? Now I’ve seen everything!
I remember this episode very well. It was named "Ricky" after the name of the character played by the actor in yellow shirt who was special like Forrest Gump. Very touching episode.
The Incredible Hulk is in reality a Super Hero. He only retaliates against those he's angered at and at same time helps those in need of rescuing
In this show, he is. The 1982 cartoons and the later movies portrayed him as a pariah..
I love how Ricky said you take these 2 fingers but lou ferrignos hands are so big he could only use 1 finger *savage* *respect 21+*
There is no doubt Bill Bixby and Lou Ferringo had great chemistry in such a brilliant show. I adore this series close to my heart growing up as a kid in the U.K. I have the full DVD boxset that I treasure. A great family show that dealt with life serious issues with action and adventure which is missing on TV today and well written and enjoy the 70's and 80's nostalgia and don't judge on today's special effects, a different era. The series was magical and will always be special. 💖
Hulk was freaked by the delicate opening mechanism of the soda can. He's not used to intricacy.
👍
Bill Bixby”s acting was so amazing, and convincing everytime he would start to change into the Hulk! I know the show hasn’t aged well over the years, but the acting is still good. R.I.P. Bill Bixby!
Here's why I love the TV show, the didn't have the technology to make a cgi Hulk so they had to actually make a real one and they damn well did it
8:07 - Did Hulk just GRUNT-TALK and say "Grrrreen"
Sounds like he said "Hey"
i love the way the shadow of the hulk showed him shape shifting back into banner
Lou actually became a Sheriff later in life, imagine being pulled over by the incredible hulk!
Roger Francis-Yeah, if you tried to resist arrest, he'd growl at you, then he'd pick you up, and toss you someplace. 😆😆😆😆😆😆

Lou is a legend.
The incredibly cute and friendly Hulk. The jolly green giant.
There is only one hulk and noone else Lou Ferrigno❤

Ive always loved this scene with Hulk and Ricky like in the comics Hulk is a raging monster but when it comes to people being nice and friendly to him then he becomes gentle and kind towards them
I wouldn't be surprised if this was nod rick Jones from the comics
Same as 2003 or 2008 one, but avengers made hulk so bad, I bet if all hulk movie types when on a fight, smart hulk and she hulk are out first
In this scene, the Hulk helped fix the soda machine😂
I thought losing his change in the vending machine was gonna set him off…
This show is timeless I'm 57 and now I have a nephew who is 10 and he loves this show
Hulk never skips leg day.
Ahh, the 70s, when carbon monoxide poisoning could be cured by fresh air and soda.
Scary
Some health brainiacs may tell us that Coca-cola made a great over-the-counter medication. You can do that, or take your Victims to Dr. Pepper!!🤣😆🤪😄😁

Peter McZip, now in the 2,010s-20s, we are undersigned by extreme viruses, and pandemics. Carbon monoxide poisoning is not a big thing anymore. Mmmmmm...... go figure! 🧐
The Hulk was/is actually a super hero by saving lives & battling evil bad people
Who wouldn't want to share a pop with the Incredible Hulk?
Bill Bixby and Ferrigno are still my favorite version of Hulk 📺
Makes me feel happy that the Incredible Hulk has a friend.
Best scene ever when you see Hulk drinking for the first time but it’s Lou Ferrigno he knows what his character is doing
What, the Hulk is some dude?

My favorite part is when you see David screaming " Ricky " through the door. The first thing I thought of when I saw the thumbnail.😆
How can you be green? *Hulk:* arrrghhh!! 🤣🤣

i actually feel happy for the green behemoth coz he had a fleeting moment of normalcy
Hulk may have been a monster but he always did what was right. He knew to help those who needed it and give a good smack to those who deserved it too.
He is big, green and scary, but I did not ever consider him as an evil monster. He has always been social, caring, also when he growls and is extremely strong.
It would be SCARY to see what the Hulk would do for a Klondike bar...

i love that not everyone is afraid of him.
The Hulk wasn't bad just confused he was gentle as long as one didn't make him mad. If people weren't hostile towards him than he wasn't. It's like when Frankenstein became friends with a poor old blind man. The blind man understood him and he knew the blind man was his friend. There's a comparison between the Hulk and the kid with special needs mental problems. The real problem is people because at times they're indifferent towards individuals with certain types of disabilities. The Hulk encountered a lot of that while he was on the run. People can be cruel towards what they don't understand.
Fun fact: The Incredible Hulk is inspired by the Frankenstein.
Sun's gettin low big guy...
Loofah regnal was awesome. When he played the Incredible Hulk he did not hesitate to save that boy’s life. That’s what I call a friend
David: "Someone is revving a muscle car? TROUBLE." lol
The best part about the show is that the Incredible Hulk could teach others save millions of lives like you did on this TV show and a stamp of the bad and shed some light into this World can you start bringing in the good that this world has to offer you see here everything the hulk has done in this show is defend and help people he hasn’t hurt anybody he just wants to help even out the evil that lurks within this earth and show it a different way to cope in life besides violence. Now violence is never the answer in some cases with extreme previsionary cautions violence may be an intended solution to get yourself out of harms way to get out of a bad situation gone worse.
3:49 is that Pete from Tool time on home improvement 😂😂😂
6:07 If I remember correctly, we usually don't see a full facial shot of the "Hulk out" actually in progress, usually it's Banner's eyes at the start, some body transformation shots, right to Hulk's face after it is completed. And this is actually season 2, episode 3.
Why am I chuckling at the KZhead videos suggested featuring the 70’s Hulk doing things like Hulk riding in a taxi cab, Hulking playing baseball, and Hulk landing an airplane? Now, 70’s Hulk has a drink and makes a friend? That’s some campy funny nostalgia. But, at this point, did the series Jump the Shark?
Awesome scene. Best superhero tv show ever.
The Incredible Hulk saves his friends when they're in trouble!
Maaaayn, the gold old days, when tv shows were shows where we can relate to our everyday lives and teach us morals. Now, these updated shows we have society, really messed up more than ever; no value, no morales, no peace and no justice.

I stayed with my grandparents as a teenager, long story, anyway. I got my grandpa to watch this show. He liked Bill Bixby as an actor and thought, why not? After a couple episodes he was hooked. I love this show, kinda reminds me of SHAZAM! There's always a moral to the show....life lessons!

We don't get to see green Bill Bixby very often.
When I was a kid and saw this one for the first time, I honestly thought this Ricky was intended to be Rick Jones, from the '80's cartoon and beyond.
Dr.Banner saved Rick Jones from the very gamma bomb that mutated him into the Incredible Hulk in the first issue back in 1962 in the proper comics continuity and he is the Hulk's best friend and he's very underrated. I wish Jones was in this show. Jim Wilson should have appeared too.
I thought the same thing
I just commented the same thing lol Perhaps this is, but nothing about it was said due to unknown reasons.
