    • Maybe because they make it hard to do so? Also, when karunesh talwar joked about his father in a standup he too received criticism. It's a metro thing...to hate and sh*t over your father. I've been guilty of this too. Developed countries like aus uk us also are infamous for making advertisements targeting fathers, and despite celebrating moms so much, mocking dads. Sadly as a society grows more privileged, the importance of father in a home dimnishes into disrespect. That's my understanding.

It's a general observation though that for the same act no matter females receive more criticism as they are easy targets. But you are actually very right observation made by you and such type of attitude towards parents should'nt be normalised whether done by anyone.

Thanks to Mata Rani that he is alright now and is living a decent life ......Diff. betn Feminism vs PSEUDO feminism.... . once I was travelling by train and the journey was for 36 hours. I got the upper berth and then next to me was a girl around 25. She was good looking and well educated. And then next to her, was a man aged around 50, on the lower berth. So that was our seating arrangement. We were going to Jamshedpur from Bangalore. Now, since this was a long journey people started mingling to get rid of the boredom. The girl and I got into talking and discussed about a lot of stuffs. I really liked her for her immense knowledge and her persona. She spoke about feminism and her views were too good. She spoke about societal issues, and what should be done. Overall the conversation was going good and was getting interesting. Now after a while, we both were tired of talking. And we thought let's enjoy the view outside. The lush green fields, bluest skies ever, the bright sun, it was beautiful. What happened next, just shocked me to the core. You'll know why. Suddenly this girl (let's call her P) complained that she couldn't enjoy the view, because of the uncle who had got the window seat! I told her, that it's okay we can still get the view from our respective seats. But she wasn't satisfied. And then P told me this: “Babe feminism ka zamana hai, hum ladkiyan hai, humein har chiz milni chahiye. Ye seat mujhe chahiye, aur mai le k rahungi.” (Translation: Babe, it's the era of feminism. We are women, we should be getting everything. I want that seat and I'm gonna get it.) Next,P made a gesture to an aunty who was sitting opposite to us and took her to the washroom. And then after a while, that aunty came and sat in between me and the uncle. And P got the window seat. And then aunty suddenly started talking about harrassment and molestation. P smiled at me. I asked her. She tells me this. “I went to the aunty and said her that the uncle sitting next to me is trying to touch me inappropriately and is being creepy. Now the journey is long, I don't want any nuisance as I'm travelling alone. So if I could exchange seats with you? Because he won't dare to harrass you.” I was taken aback! A few hours ago, I was singing praises about her to my family on phone and admiring her and it all went down the gutter in a flush. And believe me, that uncle was as innocent as he could get. He was least bothered about our existence. He did ask us if we want to eat fruits that he got with him. My heart broke! I decided to tell the aunty about the truth. I told her. She replies, “Daughter, these men are like that. Every man is a potential rapist. P must have thought something and decided to take this step. Don't play the blame game. It's okay, I don't find anything wrong about what P did.” I gave up, you guys. I gave up. I had no words. Throughout the journey, I was quiet. This isn't feminism. Today feminism has taken such a drastic turn from the real meaning of the term, that it just hurts. We have shifted from getting equal rights to a whole new lane. And P's Insta bio reads 'Feminist'. I laugh. Pseudo feminist maybe. There are NO parents who want to have an unemployed SON, NO woman who wants to marry an unemployed MAN, No son who wants an unemployed FATHER, and NO sister who wants an unemployed BROTHER.. • Yeaah. Maybe the reason is people in India aren't so open and friendlier with their parents, moreover parents act so sensitive over little things and then call it respect. The definition of respect is really screwed up in this country and rather dependent upon age and words rather than understanding how they make other feel through their heart. Of course iska ye matlab nahi k ma bap ko gali do but still people need to chill out a bit. Glad that she has super cool parents unlike those who always make their kids feel smaller and guilty.
