  • If you want to see more of Thomas' smelly armpits and other shenanigans follow us on Instagram *@thethrottlehouse* Also, as for the comments saying the "fake vents are there to customize later." That wasn't our experience when investigating the car. Jalopnik has written a great article on why those fake vents don't lead anywhere if you want to go check it out.

    • As I recall from watching the video of their engineer, he said something about there being room for ducting to be installed, as opposed to actual ducting. Was that your experience looking at it from the inside? Or was there nothing but bulkhead/parts behind the fakeness?

Toyota and BMW teamed up to create something cool and all they got in return is a bunch of a spoiled people complaining not understanding that it was not these cars versus more faster more unique cars with manual but no cars like this at all.

Versions with turbo or add. High price for the performance. A gti or si usually had them in the rear view mirror for a lot less. The styling was really never updated. It still looks the same. Very little marketing What was the last year you saw any advertising for them. 2 door Sport coupes are by nature impractical. They are more for the brands image satisfy diehard enthusiasts, bring back some fun to the company engineers and brand and show what their engineers can within reason at certain price points if allowed.. Modding and bringing people into the showroom to sell practical suvs pickups cuvs and sedans Most sport coupes s2000 Nissan z rx8 etc. get great press and sales for a few years but than they stagnate and stay the same for a whole decade. Unlike the bigger sellers. I am happy we even have any available especially with manual that is just crazy and great. Giving humans that much control and the requirement they must think ahead and clutch and shift. Soon everything will be electric self driving super fast but boring as cars become the second highest market place besides online shopping at home. Plus you have the reliability factor and repair cost even gas mileage, the z4 is faster in a straight line but neither car was built for that. Just saying for driving experience alone z4 isn’t an upgrade

      @vcall6121@vcall6121 Жыл бұрын
    • Nd1 and z4 are two complete opposites in small convertible 2 seaters category. ND is all about feel and engagement, the Z4 feel is intentionally engineered out for the sake of luxury/refinement. For example, this supra and Z4 have identical steering racks, but the Z4 has less steering feel because it was programmed that way.

This is a step back from the unique design that previous Z4 generations got, a design which aged a lot better than whatever was "cool" and "modern" at the time. Just look at the first Gen Z4. Apart from the lights (and maybe some of the rear), the car is beautifully shaped and to this day (20 years after it hit the market) still doesn't look outdated.

In the supra, the black spot in the gauge cluster where you stated that it only shows alerts, if you use the steering wheel controls it actually shows your menus radio stations etc and you can cycle through. Also, if youre using the in car NAV system, the Directions are shown there with the road displayed with instructions for your route etc. Next time youre in a supra, give it a try!

You would need an angle grinder and a sawzall to make them “real”. Jalopnik has written a great article on this.

  • I went to my Toyota dealership to check out a Supra they had on display. I was actually kind of star struck when I saw it. The Supra logo just made me smile! The MSRP for the car was just under 60k on the window sticker. The sales person started talking to me about the car and he informed me that the car would be sold for. . . . *$20,000 OVER MSRP!!* Nope. . . I'll smile whenever I see one on the road but i'll never spend a dime over MSRP On a side note; has anyone ever realized they know more about a car than the sales people at these dealerships? I bought an 86 from a dealership and I had several sales people doing google searches on my future car while simultaneously trying to sell it to me. I kept bringing up the Type R, Veloster N, Miata and Ecoboost Mustang to compare to the base level 86 I wanted. It was great! XD I don't think they like me very much now. . . lol

    • That is how they do it with the Civic R around here. You can't even test drive it. They are acting like there are rich oil tycoons flying out just to buy them and truck them back to Montana and they won't buy it if there are more than 3 miles on it. Ha ha. I remember when Dodge said the same thing about the Challenger. They don't know about the car, but they know a good sales pitch. These are poser cars if ever one was put out there. If you want proof that America is broken, the fact is that the folks with money are mostly posers themselves. If you want a contemporary example of that, look at the guy who was running WeWork. The only thing he did wrong was not respect the poser-ness of his underlings and get himself a mutiny of underlings. As far as the rest of the world was concerned, he could walk on water. Now he's fodder for yellow dog journalists. Same thing with the Supra... today it's the "real deal" for tuners and mods. Just like the Rx-8 was the second coming of the Rx-7. And the C6 corvette was "revolutionary improvements" over the C5. In the long run, the marketing hype doesn't hold up. What does hold up is value for your dollar. But low, sell high. For that to work, some schmo has to buy high.
