This was probably the most impactful tv series of my childhood. I cried for weeks when commissioner Corrado Cattani was brutally gunned down by the mafia richt in front of prosecutor Silvia Conti in season 3. I was 5 years old back then and now at the age of 29 my eyes still tear up when I think about it. This specific piece of music will always haunt me till the rest of my life

- +Tigger Tail I saw the news where one of the real world prototypes of Cattani, el prosecutor Giovanni Falcone was bombed in the highway with tones of TNT by the Italian mafia. So the series are more real than it looks like.

- It was quite popular in Hungary as well, I’m 38 now, but still remember watching it as a kid, the scary theme music:)) Have no idea why we were allowed to watch such things on tv:)))

I was just a kid when this amazing show aired on TV. If I remember correctly it ran late in the evening and I had school early next day so I was not always allowed to stay up too late to watch the whole episode. As soon the intro stated playing I would leave whatever I was doing and go to the living room. That's the genius of Ennio Morricone.

Awesome Michele Placido (Cattani) and amazing music by Ennio Morricone. This movie will be remembered for life from the kids of the 80's. I still remember Cattani shooted on the wall. I couldn't believe it was true.... Great movie, but also so true Mafia always wins.

- Do you remember that after the episode they were talking about how Cattani was killed in the late news? That was something epic. We were all in shock back then... I loved the show, even though I was too young to understand anything back then.

- Это Итальянцы, они умеют быть правдивыми и при этом музыкальными, если посмотреть внимательно то лучшие композиторы-итальянцы ,здесь есть сочетание горячей крови и принудительной христианизации, но в итоге у них не плохо вышло

daca nu ai auzit,macar,de caracatita(La Piovra),inseamna ca nu existi! este cel mai bun serial italian din toate timpurile! o bijuterie scenaristica si regizorala! o actiune desavarsita ce te tine conectat la evenimente pe toata durata ei! acest serial ar trebui predat si la ATF! actorii,n special tano cariddi si corrado catani.ar fi trebuit recompensati cu oscar! un film de nota 20+

Death of Catanni was a catastrophe for Soviet Uniet viewers . .At the time of final serie Soviet was defenceless against any invasion as everyone was glued to TV.

- La Piovra was the best tv series about organized crime ever. Im from Romania and it was a very big deal here and in the rest of the communist world. Too bad it wasnt broadcasted in USA. They still think that the Godfather was a big deal.

I just loved this film and recently had the theme song on my phone as a ring tone.When I was a kid back in the 80s in Hungary, I was shocked to see that small kids can also be killed.Small kid was running on the seashore when he was gunned down brutally,but still was glued to tv every week

This show is about sadness and grief. On that note, Pure treasure by macbeth an italian band, also fits perfectly into the soundtrack but that song came out in 2001 so it couldnt have been implemented at the time the series aired.

To był film kryminalny Ośmiornica. Film kryminalny włoski. W roli głównej aktor Michel Placido ( komisarz Cattani). Świetna muzyka pasuje do tego filmu. Powiem tak to był film kryminalny o mafii którą rozpracowywał komisarz w roli głównej. Podobał mi się ten film, lubialem oglądać. Pozdrawiam Wszystkich Serdecznie.
