I asked for stuff to study up on while my job was on a 2 week winter break and placing catheters was one of my assignments since I'm still very new to this field. This video was so straightforward and gave me good insight. Thanks!

  • What is your reasoning behind taping the t-set to the medial side of the leg? I was always taught to tape the t-set to the lateral side of the leg to give easier access if needed--especially in an emergency.

    @dougsmith1259@dougsmith12593 жыл бұрын
  • Learning to do this now as an assistant at our clinic. We normally will use that fourth piece of tape to make the seatbelt for the catheter. We also never let go of it to ensure it stays in the vein while taping, so we tape with one hand but your method seems so much easier.

  • This is by far the BEST video for the proper way to place a catheter. It is surprising to me just how many really BAD videos there are showing really sloppy technique on the part of the person restraining as well as the tech inserting the catheter. Atdove.org really is the GOLD STANDARD for the correct way to practice safe, quality medicine. Thank you Megan and all of the team at Dove for setting the bar high and challenging us to continue to learn, gain confidence AND most importantly, gain recognition and respect for the education that we have and the job that we do as RVT/CVT professionals.

She was determined to eat everyone, even after she was pre-medicated she needed a muzzle and a cone way before the surgery even started, and the moment she woke up from surgery she still tried to eat us. Haha, gotta love dogs.
