It’s so interesting to see how others clinics do different procedures. Everyone has their own technique of doing things and what works best for them
WOW, What a good dog. You could also tell the lady was real gentle. Great Job.
Dogs sedated, would be mean if it wasnt, that stuff hurts
You make it look so easy! The Vets usually place the catheters at the office I work at, so I haven't been able to try placing one yet. This video helped show me how to help assist in placing a catheter too though. There was no mess! That's crazy. You and your technician did a great job!
Your videos are so useful for us, students, who don't get around to practice much. Thanks a lot ^_^ keep doing the great job you're doing.
oooo look at you tell the whole world your a fuckn student wow
@@redred3408 the only dumb fuck here is you. Go see a psychiatrist
@@redred3408 you're a definition of a certified moron.
@@redred3408 wow literally no one was bragging. There is no hint of her bragging in any way. All she was doing was thanking the people who made the video?? Just because YOU dont feel so good about yourself doesnt mean you trash talk someone who's actually trying to do something with their life. Gtfo
@@redred3408 Uh wow.... you should probably talk to someone about your rage issues before you hurt someone. That was really random and concerning.
It is always embarrassing when you don't get the cephalic vein at one touch especially if the client is watching 😂 Good work, doc. I appreciate you
I can relate to this 😂
Nicely done. That boxer was such a good sport. I hope he got a few chicken treats. X
Nikita Marie i was dhocked how well behaved they were!

She said she so I think the doggie is a female!
Good boy/girl I watch these so I wouldn’t be as nervous. I’m studying to a vet tech myself
This person deserves a raise. She's great.
I’m training to be a vet technician and I’m so thankful for these videos they help me out when I forget and need to be refreshed and I watch them for fun and to learn new ways to make the office a better and happier place 😀😃😄☺️😊so thank you again love the videos
Just finished my first semester at my RVT program and landed my first job at a veterinary clinic. I asked for stuff to study up on while my job was on a 2 week winter break and placing catheters was one of my assignments since I'm still very new to this field. This video was so straightforward and gave me good insight. Thanks!
congrats, I bet you are just as efficient at many procedures, as this lady is.
Such a good patient! Hope buddy is doing well
It is very apparent this lady was taught well and has done this many times.
You got that catheter is so easy! I've only ever seen a nurse/tech put a catheter in that quickly a few times! Thanks for all your thorough steps! As a student, this really helps me out!
Your content is very useful. We are trying to help more dogs and cats in Vietnam
What a patient pup! Lovely job. The way you use the tape is so neat and efficient.
What is your reasoning behind taping the t-set to the medial side of the leg? I was always taught to tape the t-set to the lateral side of the leg to give easier access if needed--especially in an emergency.
Learning to do this now as an assistant at our clinic. We normally will use that fourth piece of tape to make the seatbelt for the catheter. We also never let go of it to ensure it stays in the vein while taping, so we tape with one hand but your method seems so much easier.
I am a new vet assistant and this was so helpful, thank you!!
This was so incredibly helpful! I’ll be starting as an emergency & critical care nurse in a few weeks and I’m trying to obtain any piece of helpful info possible!! Thank you!! 🙌🏼💜 She was such a good patient too!
good thing the doggy is an amazing helper here. Cause We´ve all been there with patients that need a full team to get it done. I really love the method you just shared I´ll might use it
I am also a DVM student, These videos are very helpful, thanks mam keep helping us, proud to be a Veterinarian..
Thank you! This helped me a lot with my nursing assignment!
+Chloe Waddington We're glad to hear it!
Tape is the hardest part of placing an IV catheter. I really like your method. Great instruction, as usual.
This is by far the BEST video for the proper way to place a catheter. It is surprising to me just how many really BAD videos there are showing really sloppy technique on the part of the person restraining as well as the tech inserting the catheter. Atdove.org really is the GOLD STANDARD for the correct way to practice safe, quality medicine. Thank you Megan and all of the team at Dove for setting the bar high and challenging us to continue to learn, gain confidence AND most importantly, gain recognition and respect for the education that we have and the job that we do as RVT/CVT professionals.
Poor baby, she was so calm as the nurse was getting her ready. Great job!
If only all our patients were as perfect as this dog lol. I was shadowing at a clinic the morning of a Husky spay and that dog refused to go down. She was determined to eat everyone, even after she was pre-medicated she needed a muzzle and a cone way before the surgery even started, and the moment she woke up from surgery she still tried to eat us. Haha, gotta love dogs.
Thank you Teacher for giving us nice and detail view on "IV catheter" I appreciate your efforts.May Allah give you success in your journey
Studying to be a VAR right now and we are watching these videos. Dove has been a tremendous help to us. Thank you for posting these!
Robin Barker var?
I love her videos simple easy to follow great refreshers
Inserting while teaching at the same time! Good job!
you do it so effortlessly, I'm jealous. haha
hi baby
baby your nabara
That dog looks so brave! I like the way the assistant keeps him quiet while they do this. My doctor keeps me quiet by letting me snuggle up with my baby doll that I have. I cannot have children so I have little cherish. She's been with me through thick and thin and some of you might think I'm crazy for having her, but it helps me be strong and brave in moments like this
Your ideas is very well and precious ☺️ Iam from Nepal veterinary technician
An amazing video. I has crazy nerves when it comes to needles but she made everything so comfortable. I hope she’s become a leader among vets. Very great video.
Thank you for this video! I'm going into Vet tech school soon and getting to learn some skills is nice :)
Me too! You graduated when i started is what it looks like but im excited for vet tech school and joining my uncle at UF (hes a vet there and a professor and so is his wife, Dr. Harvey Ramirez of the University of Florida)
Excelente manera de colocar el acceso venoso! Las felicito!
Thank you, I am struggling with this a little bit
That pup is so good and calm😭❤
Thoroughly impressed by the patient.
What a smile😊 doctor megan, thanks 🌹
Such a good dog. I put myself a goal to learn more about dog anatomy to be able to care for it more responsibly.
Nicely done👍It's easier on big well behaved dogs. It can be quite a work on those super small, nervous, twitchy dogs.
Thank you Megan - great video for a 2nd year vet nurse student :-)
Flawless job. Vet tech student here and I aspire to be this effortlessly!
I also aspire to be as proficient as this Vet/or Vet technican also
Also from the last comment Megan, wow what a brave dog!
I really enjoyed this clip, you are awesome at what you do - nice and clear, precise. Watching 'angry cat restraint' was amusing, yet professional, with the least amount of stress on him. Great job guys
Teacher so cute. Thank you for teaching, it's easier to learn!!1
Brilliant cannulation technique!
The cephalic is actually on the side and the accesory is on the middle. Once the two combine and it extend from that meet, then it turns into cephalic.
This was very helpful! I’m studying animal science and hope to be a vet nurse
This dog is a gentleman.
I was unsure about being a vet but after a few of your vids I think I still want to :D
Im a [human] nurse and watched this ojt of total curiosity, im so impressed at how still the dog was, a lot of humans cant hold that still!
Great presentation! Thank you.
+AlyZen Moonshadow Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful explanation, thank you !
You explain things so well. Very nice demonstration :-)
Awesome example. Easy to understand & follow thanks!
A very interesting catheter.
can you do one where things go wrong and you explain what your looking for and how to correct it etc. the difficult part is when things don't go the way you expect....
yeah, in a dehydrated 1 month kitten with exploded veins on your final chance to try for instance
I for one think she did a great job.
YOUR A GREAT INSTRUCTOR...KEEP UP THESE INFORMATIVE TUTORIALS...♡☆♡
Hey THANK YOU for your videos - Much appreciated - keep up the fantastic work - I have "liked" & "subscribed - Bridget (New Zealand)
What are your thoughts on wrapping the leg for longer iv therapy to prevent swelling??? I've never done it, saw a couple emergency facilities do it.
you make it look so easy :)
Amazing technique! Thanks alot for that
Your work is more than perfect ..Greetings from Algeria
Nicely presented the procedure to place I/V catheter in dog.
thank you very much wonderfully clear!
This video was very helpful thanks ;)
I'll learn more and more from @dove ❤
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome video!! Excellent job! Love your videos!!!
Muito obrigado, aprendir bem esse vídeo.
Better technique than most nurses I work with : ).
Pets don’t bitch as much as people do; they’re usually much better patients than people are.
you are amazing.
Awesome doc Thank you so much 😊
I miss the green male adapters... anyway I love these videos! I'm going to try your way of taping..
+Alma Flores Hi! We're glad to hear you enjoy our videos, and hope you like taping the way we do.

Very nice video!!!! Would you mind if I shared it on my schoolnwebiste for an assignment? Your restrainer and patient didnreally well. It was extremely easy to follow and I loved your taping meathod!! From a a fellow vet tech Amanda
very nicely done, and well shot video as well.
very informative. nicely explained.
I'm currently in school to become a certified tech and I will be learning this next week on my professor's dog (no pressure, right?) Thanks to your video, I feel more confident going into this. Thank you!
so, how did it go? this type of things make for a good story! Cheers! :-D
+Ada Ionescu It went surprisingly very well! My parents are allergic to animals so I don't have any experience going into the field, so I was nervous. My professor brought her 4 lbs. chihuahua in for normal blood drawl practice and her golden for the IV catheter placement. Vet tech school is a lot of fun but using my professors dogs makes me nervous!
Thanks for the video! This is very close to what we do at our school. I have just found this channel. Do you happen to have a video on Female dog urinary catheterization?
Love your helpful videos!
such an amazing tutorial!
Nice 👌👌... KZhead recommendations are the best 👌
Pretty cool demonstration!
Awesome video Megan! Nicely done! :)
