Shut the box is kind of a unique tabletop game that is a lot of fun and a great conversation piece to keep on the coffee table. It may look a little complicated, but without any definite plans, I was able to complete the project from start to finish, in one day.
Let me know what you think of this game, and if you have any ideas for any other unique tabletop games, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks for watching!!

Played this with my wife and we're hooked!! Plus, with the mahogany, It looks great on the coffee table.
Muy buen video colega! felicitaciones. saludos desde argentina
Thank you and thanks for watching!
I like the contrasting woods as well, but for noise abatement, you might consider some cork board...
Yes, actually my wife has already voted on felt and I have a funny feeling she's going to win. Thanks for watching!
Definitely the felt!
Ha, That's what my wife said too.
My German foreign exchange student says definitely don't add felt because it's beautiful how it is. My kids agree. I wonder if "flocking" like what you see in bandsaw boxes would be a good option? I like the natural appearance you've achieved.
Thanks! As much as I love the natural look, my wife voted for felt. I've never tried flocking, I may have to give it a go on a future project. Thanks for watching!
What a great project and game
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
Very nicely done. I like the contrast of the wood color too.
Thank you! After playing a bit, my wife would like me to felt the center area. She says it's too loud.
Great project and job thx for sharing enjoyed it Keep building
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to build and play
Cool project. A nice simple build, and a well done video. Keep it up brother!!
Thank you ! You as well, I've been getting into your content.
@@boydstongrove Appreciate that.
I had never heard of this game before and like its simplicity. Just wondering if I can make this with a steampunk flair!
Great idea, i could use a copper panel instead of plywood!
@@richardmccann4815 maybe use gears to separate game pieces and change game pieces for copper pipe. I think there’s a lot of possibilities. Mind if I take a shot at it?
That's a great idea! I should start posting pre-project poles so I can get some of these ideas before I finish a project. Thanks!
Also, I'd definitely add the felt.
Haha, that seems to be the verdict. Even my wife said that.
@@boydstongrove Well, then the boss has spoken..... 🤣
This came out really awesome! Love the hammer you use :) And something I think would look really awesome is wood burnt numbers :) It is still "hand drawn". But this came out amazing! (PS- never heard of this game before honestly)
I had never heard of the game until last week when I saw it in a store. When I looked it up, it's everywhere, so I guess I don't get out enough, haha. I was going to wood burn the numbers on but I thought I could make them neater with the marker, I was wrong, lol. Thanks for watching!
Love this. Cant wait for the plans. Would you have plans for a 2 player one too?
I wasn't planning on it, but that's a great idea. Thanks!
great idea . one question though if you get down to having only the 1 left, how can you win rolling 2 dice?
Once you have the numbers 6 and below you only roll 1 die
I complexly forgot about that rule! Thank you! I'll make sure to add the rules to the set of plans when I upload them.
Great game but with 2 dice how do you roll a 1? Maybe start the tiles at 2?
When I play, I usually use the one with a combination of the tiles to equal the number on the dice. 110 on the dice could be the 1 and 9 tiles, so on and so forth. Thanks for watching!
If you only have the numbers 6 and below you only roll 1 die
Anyone else just visualize one of those game pieces being launched off the belt sander? Sorry I just woke up LOL
Haha, I've done that with small pieces more times than I care to admit.
Add the felt
That's what my wife said too.
I want to make 6 player version
Yeah, I saw that one, I figured I would start with the less complicated one. Good luck on yours!!
